It is supposed to refresh every night.... refresh is done by other vendor(3rd party).... we dont know what method(technology) they use to refresh the databases....
My question is .....
Is there a good way to know when the last refresh has happend...can we determine it from sys tables.....
the sql server is installed in window server 2003 box.... we have access to the box as well as the sql server.....

Oct 22, 2010I've built a page which has an update form, and above that, a photo (based on the same edit). The photo is loaded based on the selected table row being edited.
On this page, I've got a button that opens a modal in an iFrame and allows the user to update just their profile image (all works fine). But when the modal is closed, I'd like to reload JUST the photo (and not the entire page), as it will have changed.
How should I go about doing this? I assume I'll need to use some Ajax controls?

Feb 26, 2011I have 2 ddls (cascading that does not use the AJAX cascading ddl) within an updatepanel within an EditTemplate field in a DetailsView. Changing the first ddl causes a full page refresh (this is the problem I am trying to overcome), but changing the second ddl does not. The second ddl is set to autopostback as well because of other logic (if user selects value "Add" a modal pops up to add a new option to the database).
Now the first, does a call out to a class to handle setting the list of values for the second...that is the only difference I can tell between the two, but I wouldn't think that would cause the issue because it is within an updatepanel.

This session is then used to determine if certain nodes in a menu are visible. I want to display the page the client, and then trigger an updatepanel refresh that will populate with data that takes 3-4 seconds to load (the rest of the page loads very fast). At the same time I want to display "...Loading..." text using UpdateProgress control.
Everything is working below in the sample code. However, UpdateProgress will not display unless the button is actually clicked by the user. In real production scenario I would hide the button. To invoke the immediate UpdatePanel refresh I trigger the click via Javascript. I have also tried "__DoPostBack" without success.

Updating Div After Full Page Refresh Following AJAX Request?
Jun 9, 2010I have an AJAX controller action which returns JSON. The returned JSON is handled via jQuery and contains a message displayed in an update div. The JSON also contains a flag which indicates a change in state. If this is true the entire page needs to be reloaded from a different url. This is currently performed in the jQuery using window.location.replace(url). In the situation where a full page refresh occurs, I still want to display the message from the JSON in the update div, but after the page has fully reloaded.
How can I ensure the div is updated with the message after the window.location.replace call and the page has been completely reloaded? (I realise AJAX is not intended for full page refreshes but I can't think of a simple way of avoiding it in this scenario. Normal behaviour here is updating the div with a status message.)
