my problem is that i m doing somany tasks in one timer. i want to display one by one status of tasks.
through images. like process1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx image right sign. process2 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx image cross sign. right for work done and cross for process fail. in these processes after one process complete i want to display staus of proces work done or not. by changing the image. how can i do this.
I have an "Edit Profile" lightbox on my page, which posts to the controller via jQuery ajax. I handle the response in the jquery end instead of returning a View. However, when the profile is saved, I need to refresh the values on the page displaying the popup. How could I achieve this in MVC2? For example, if the user changes her name and avatar (in the lightbox), after she saves the profile, I'd like to update the avatar and name everywhere it occurs on the page.

I have a file upload field, after the image was selected, i make a jquery ajax post to an aspx page's page method. My question is, how can I pass that image via jquery? When I do $(this).val() it only gets the file name. I want to pass the image object itself.

- On page load, I bind it to datasource (in my case a webservice)
- On gridview's rowcreated event, I dynamically add image buttons on the header of the grid for sorting (up/down arrows). On header I have column name and the image. I removed the Column name default sorting link. So user can now only click the image button for sorting.

This works perfectly fine without AJAX. The paging, sorting works fine. Also when I apply AJAX the paging works fine. But the sorting is doing a full post back instead of partial postback.
I have my gridview within UpdatePanel and Triggeres is set on gridview sill it doesn't work.

View 2 RepliesI have a web site with a navigation bar on the left side that uses image buttons to select the page you want to see. Each button has 3 possible images - the normal image when the page is not selected, the mouseover image when the the mouse is over the button, and the selected image when the button has been clicked and the page selected. Formerly each web page had its own navigation bar but I have moved the common content into a master page.
The problem I have is how to make the button image of the selected page to be the "selected" image rather than the "normal" image. Basically I need to change the imagebutton source to the "selected" image when a button is clicked and reset it to the normal image when a different button is clicked.
Currently the Javascript looks like this:

How can I tweak the Javascript so that the src of the clicked image is "content1_selected" instead of "content1_normal" and then reset it when another button is clicked. This seems like it would be a common need when moving a navigation bar to a master page to eliminate redundant code.
We are having a button in an user control where this button is surrounded by update panel.
We are using above user control twice in a single page, then we will get 2 buttons in that page.
If we click on any of the button then page gets post back twice. Can some one let me know why it is happening and how to fix this?

This is executed when a certain button is pressed. The purpose is to redirect to another site.
This works fine as long as no AJAX is used.
However as soon as AJAX is added, in particular as soon as the script manager is added with partial rendering set to TRUE:

then this stops working. The code in the button is still executed, we checked that, the literals get the right text properties. It appears however that the javascript is not executed. Nothing happens, no redirection.
the problem can be overcome by settin the script manager partial rendering to false, however, when this is done, much of the AJAX functionality stops working.
We think it may have to do with registering the script with the script manager. We tried this:
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "JSScript", strJS2);//done before setting the text property of the literal
But to no avail.
Anybody has seen this before and knows how its done right?
I have been searching the net and found no clean cut answer to my problem. I have an animated spinning gif, that is displayed within an 'UpdateProgress'. This gif is to be displayed when the page is posting back to the server and processing.
The animation will start to spin but basically stright away it stops. I have noticed that the file menu within IE is also frozen at this point, up untill the page fully refreshes. I have tested in firefox and safari and am recieving the same problems.
developing in visual studio 2010, framework 4.0, IE 7,8.
I hope this is a really easy question but I'm struggling with it. I have a GridView that has an UpdatePanel within a TemplateField.
The idea is that the user can make simple alterations without a full page load being required.
I have simulated my page functionality in the following example, which simulates a database hit, gridview databinding and updatepanel functionality.
When you press any of the + or - buttons in the GridView, the form controls in the bottom UpdatePanel also post their contents back. I have seen this by using Firebug. On my real page however this is causing excessive bandwidth and is nearly the same as a full postback.
how I can force ONLY the appropriate UpdatePanel's contents to postback for processing, rather than all the UpdatePanels?? I've tried experimenting with Triggers but just can't get it working properly.

When we then click on one of the documents in the list, then press back in the browser, we get a page expired error. Is it possible to change the action of the check box to trigger a get with a parameter?
