Aug 11, 2010I am trying to implement a webpart control with some ajax functionality and I just realized that when the webpart is on the page in shared view and the user is not logedin then the webpart/ajax control does not fire the OnPreRender event and so the scriptcontrol does not get registered....
even tried puting a simple hovermenuextender on a webpart control and the same error occurs:
"Extender control 'HoverMenuExtender1' is not a registered extender control. Extender controls must be registered using RegisterExtenderControl() before calling RegisterScriptDescriptors(). Parameter name: extenderControl"
this only happens when a webpart control is on the page in shared view and the user navigates to the page without being logged in....

Jun 2, 2010I am searching already the web for some hours to get this working. I created a custom control (ConfigTree), which has a treeview as part of it. I put the custom control into an update panel. So far so good. When I click on different buttons (in ucc:ConfigTree) or the treeview in the custom control an async postback is done. When clicking on a node in the treeview an event for the parent element (ConfigTree) is generated, which populates again an event (NodeSelected) for the parent element (shown below). Different parent elements can handle the event differently. In one element (this one) I need to transform the async postback in a real postback with full page refresh. For better understanding see the following code:

the parent element (here shown) should process the OnNodeSelected and transform it into an full postback and not just an async postback, but only this event, all the other events in the ucc:ConfigTree should processed async. How can I do that? Is there a method to call in the code behind?

To Create A Custom Control That Adds Other Controls Visible To The Page Hosting My Custom ?
Oct 22, 2010I want to create a custom control where I define several specifically named DIV sections. The code-behind logic of the custom control will perform operations on these named DIV sections. The page where the custom control is hosted needs to be able to add named controls to the DIV sections and perform operations on these named controls added to the DIV sections.
Let me explain a little further. In the custom control, I want to have code behind logic that fires the following Page Event and uses a condition to make one or another specifically named DIV section visible or not:

how can I create a custom control which is able to generate the named DIV sections "DetailsNameDiv1" and "DetailsNameDiv2" where my custom control can check a condition and make one or the other visible. Also, I need to be able to add controls to these named DIV sections when I host the custom control and the control that I add to the named DIV section needs to let me set values of these controls from the code behind logic of the page (or usercontrol) where the custom control is being hosted (in my example, I am adding TextBox controls that I want to set the Text property from a SQL Data Reader).

I have a sample Microsoft Word document which has several paragraphs.
When I click the button "Paste from MS Word (with cleanup)" on the Editor, <br/> is inserted as the HTML instead of <p></p> i.e. HTML paragraphs.
I would like the MS Word paragraphs to retain their meaning and have a <p> instead of <br />.
(By the way, they are kept if I do a standard Paste, but then a lot of other obscure characters are inserted into the HTML)

Jul 22, 2010At present we are using <ajax:TabContainer> to load tabs. I have 5 user controls inside <ajax:TabPanel>.
The problem is that all the data on these 5 pages gets loaded at once and increases the loading time as well as it is very hard to debug. Can we do lazy loading uisng TabContainer control? so that only the data of the current tab is loaded and when we click on the other tab then that's control data gets loaded.

Jan 25, 2010I've got an issue where I'm unable to view Ajax controls within the Visual Studio toolbox section What makes this issue even more bizzare is that I'm able to view the controls of the .dll (AjaxControlToolkit.dll) in a test website. I can see Visual Studio iterate through the controls and add them to the tab in one project and absolutely nothing in the other. I've already checked to see if another tab has my controls and done multiple Toolbox resets. Obviously, I need consistency with this and for me to be able to easily add controls to my target website...Does anyone know why one VS2008 project displays controls correctly in one place but not in another project?
