I am requested by my manager to develop a web page called staff deployment plan that will involve two GridViews, that is the Parent GridView and Child GridView. The Parent GridView will display two columns which are EmployeeNames and WorkingDays - the working days column is a heading of Child GridView and the child gridview displays columns as current working days for example: the month of November 2014 has 20 working days excluding weekends and public holidays in South Africa, so the columns for child gridview are like this:
3 Nov, 4 Nov, 6 Nov...etc
The problem that am experiencing now:
Is to add LinkButton for each column on the Child GridView and to create command event for each linkbutton inside a child gridview (remember this child gridview is inside a parent gridview) and the link button when is click it should display a popup window.

I have an AJAX PopupControlExtender nested within a modal popup. When the pop up control is shown, it is hiding behind the modal popup and have tried setting the z-index of the pop up control but it simply will not appear above the Modal popup.Please suggest me if there is any other way to make pop up extender appear on top of modal extender.

although I've searched already, but here is the thing:I have a ModalPopup wich have a Textbox, a Button and a GridView inside. The Gridview is binded to a SQLDatasource object, and the Select query is something like "SELECT field_1, field_2, field_3, field_4 FROM Table_Name WHERE field_1 LIKE '%@Parameter_2%'".This ModalPopup is used (or gonna be used) to search for a field, so the parameters received by the Query is the text inside the Textbox, I've linked thid inside the SQLDataSource Wizard.The problem is that everything works perfectly fine... inside the panel WITHOUT the ModalPopup Extender, but whe I add the Extender the filter function doesn't work.Here is my code:
[Code]....
Notes: I have a ScriptManager inside the MasterPage, so I don't have to insert one in every page. Also I've tested the code in a new page (the one I use for testing), and it works fine, it filters and everything, the problem is when I add a ModalPopup to the panel.

I have a GridView inside a ModalPopUpExtender and would like to know how I can ensure that I can work on the grid without the pop up closing everytime i click on say 'edit' or 'delete' on the grid items.
At the minute my pop up is working great, then i click on 'edit' on a row in the grid and it the pop up closes, I then click the button to fire up the pop up again and the grid is in the mode i wanted it to be in!

I have put my gridView inside an UpdatePanel with Timer control for auto refresh.The gridView has a linkButton column which is bounded to referenceNo column from database.
On click of this link button i want a panel to get visible. This Panel contains details corresponding to the referenceNo shown in differnt controls (mostly texboxes). Do i necessarily need to put the panel inside the Update Panel.If not how do i do it?
I have tried putting panel outside UpdatePanel, but it doesn't show panel on clicking the linkbutton nor does the values are updated inside this panel (if panel's visibility is set to true by default for testing purpose).

I'm doing a webpage with a search that brings a lot of information from MSSQL. What I did is a stored procedure that return only the page to be seen on the website. Right now I'm working on the paging as I need to show something similar than google. If you are at page 1 they show first 10 pages and if you are at page 19 they show since page 9 to 28. I think the best option to show the page numbers is using a linkbutton inside a repeater. The problem that I have now is that I do not know the best way to take the page number at postback.
Doing a quick sample I assigned an ArrayList to repeater.datasource:
<asp:Repeater ID="Repeater2" runat="server">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton ID="LinkButton1" runat="server" CommandArgument="<%# Container.DataItem %>"><%# Container.DataItem %></asp:LinkButton>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>
<asp:LinkButton ID="LinkButton2" runat="server" CommandArgument="4654">Test #1</asp:LinkButton>
At my Default.aspx.cs file I have the next code
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (this.IsPostBack)
{
string x = LinkButton2.CommandArgument;
//string y = LinkButton1.CommandArgument;
//I know this line will not work since the Linkbutton1 is inside the Repeater.
}
What Shall I do to make it works? Does anyone has a better solution for this paging?

The link button only sets some value as true and does nothing else. When I run the code the LinkButton's event just won't fire! In my aspx page I got this LinkButton inside of a repeater with CommandName="SetDefault", some ID, runat property. That's it. In my code, inside of myRepeater_Itemcommand(), I got this
if (e.CommandName == "SetDefault")
{
Users obj = new Users();
obj.IsDefault = true;
}
[EDIT] I resolved it myself. It was a silly mistake. "l" was missing from "SetDefault" in my aspx page.

I have a LinkButton inside an UpdatePanel that I do not want the client to click more than once before the UpdatePanel refreshes its contents. Right now the link button initiates a partial postback for every client side click until the update panel has time to refresh. This particular link fires off a very expensive process which I'd rather not have run unnecessarily. Is there a .NET standard way of doing this? Whats a good solution for this?

I have a LinkButton inside a GridView (via an TemplateField). No matter what I try, the LinkButton will not invoke its event handler. I have tried both traditional event handler ("OnClick")A OnRowCommand event handler at the GridView level.In both cases, I've debugged and it doesn't even catch the event handler.
<asp:TemplateField>
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton Text="Cancel" ID="DeleteButton" CausesValidation="false" OnClick="CancelThis" runat="server" />
