Modal popup is inside the update panel. I have a dropdown control inside modal popup. When i select the data in the dropdown and click ok on the modal popup it always shows the dropdown selectedvalue as first index no matter what i select .

but here when I click on EditCustomer it doen't change label3.text
I am using the newest AJAX control toolkit. What I want to accomplish is I have a modal popup panel with cascading dropdown list and radio button inside. The issue is the postback. RadioButton and Cascading dropdown have postback so that will cause the modal panel disappear after the postback. I just want the panel disappear after I click the ok button on the panel and send the data into a field in a page. What I did was I placed the update panel inside the popup panel. If I did that, I would see the dropdown lists automatically refresh every time by accessing the webservice. If I placed the update panel outside, the dropdown would not be triggered. Even I set the trigger for the Update Panel, it will not see that way.

Runtime error is Asp:Link ID not found, and thats because its in Tab Control, whats the work around?

The Gridview is binded to a SQLDatasource object, and the Select query is something like "SELECT field_1, field_2, field_3, field_4 FROM Table_Name WHERE field_1 LIKE '%@Parameter_2%'".This ModalPopup is used (or gonna be used) to search for a field, so the parameters received by the Query is the text inside the Textbox, I've linked thid inside the SQLDataSource Wizard.The problem is that everything works perfectly fine... inside the panel WITHOUT the ModalPopup Extender, but whe I add the Extender the filter function doesn't work.Here is my code:

Notes: I have a ScriptManager inside the MasterPage, so I don't have to insert one in every page. Also I've tested the code in a new page (the one I use for testing), and it works fine, it filters and everything, the problem is when I add a ModalPopup to the panel.

At the minute my pop up is working great, then i click on 'edit' on a row in the grid and it the pop up closes, I then click the button to fire up the pop up again and the grid is in the mode i wanted it to be in!

I have a user control (ascx) which contains a control (hidden field). In the page_load event of ascx, i have the below code:

I want to access this hidden field at runtime and i have the below javascript function in aspx page that loads the usercontrol.

I am getting 'null' value in the alert. I tried using 'ClientID' and 'this' instead of 'UniqueId'. I am wondering why this is not working. I am using .net 2.0.
I have a simple user control which is nothing but a simple input field with runat="server":

My observation so far in the output rendered by a datalist (when I use this user control inside it) is that the value for the name attribute is the same.I want to use this control inside a datalist/repeater such that I'd want a unique value for the input element's name attribute when the datalist/repeater renders. How is this done?
EDIT: My bad obversation. Actually the names are unique. However, when I try to post the page to another web page which outputs the key & value of all the items in Request.Form I don't see the input elements...

Currently I m developing a web page which holds a grivview. As one of the column needs a multiple column dropdown with soring facility, I am using ajax:popupExtender to achive that. Basically in the column i have a Panel1(label & image which mocks up has a dropdown), ajax:popupExtender, Panel1(gridview to have mutiple column). When user clicks on it the ajax:popupExtender is called & the targetpopupid which is a panel2 with gridview is called.
Here when user clicks on thePanel1, I am able to display Panel2 using ajax:popupExtender. Also, when user selects some row, I am able to close/hide the ajax:popupExtender in the code behind using cancel(). (this is done in selectItemIndexchange of panel2 grid view).
But my problem comes when user doesn't select any row & clicks back on the panel1, the ajax:popupExtender will remain open. but it should have been closed as i am trying to mock up dropdown dunctionality. how can I hide/close ajax:popupExtender when user clicks on panel1 2nd time.
Following are the different approaches I tried but nothing worked out.
1. wrote JS, & tried to add attributes of the Panel1's onclick event.
Failed: Error - Object is undefined. even though i passed a valid obj from code behind.

I'm back with my CascadingDropdown problems.
This one must be the last but not the less annoying.
I have a set of dropdowns ruled by 3 CascadingDropDowns extenders.
I would like to change the value of these dropdowns by javascript.
This works for the parent dropdown but not for the others.
Here is the javascript code used :

This code does not give me any error but nothing change on display.
The strangest thing is that when I check the value of my dropdown with firebug, I get this :

And the value that I set is "D". But on the webpage, the dropdown displays a "A" which is the last selected value.

Does anybody have a working example of a cascading dropdown inside the insertitem and edititem templates of a listview? I have been working on this for a couple of days now with only marginal success, and I fear I will have to abandon work on this due to time constraints.
The areas where I'm having difficulty are:
I just have two dropdowns(dds). In the insertitem row, I am able to have the user choose from dd1 and set a value in dd2. This works fine, but the user must be able to go back and change dd1 and have the proper value set as a selected default item in dd2. I can't get this to work.
In the edititem rows, I'm having difficulty setting the selected value of the dropdowns when displaying the row to be edited, and am running into the same problem as above when the user changes a dd1 value - the dd2 value does not reset to the proper selected default item.
My strategy for the edit items has been to try to get elements from the dataset bound to the listview to flow to the web service routines as contextkeys. I then iterate through the data values to be displayed in the dd and if the value = contextkey value, then set its isDefaultValue to true when adding it to the list of CascadingDropdownNameValue items.
The solution needs to work in the real world. That means Master Pages, so any fancy javascript workarounds need to take this into account.

I have a button on a page with a Repeater and an ObjectDataSource. To give credit where credit is due, the Repeater's paging functionality is courtesy of ScottGu. (However, I'm using ASP.NET 4.0 and SQL Server 2008, as opposed to ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005.)
Anyway, in the button's click event, I need to access the Text property of a Label that's inside the Repeater because it's used as an input parameter in a stored procedure. I'm getting a NullReferenceException when trying to access the Label's Text property. I have researched this error and have tried a few different solutions (involving FindControl and the Repeater's ItemDataBound event), but I haven't been able to get it to work. The code is below.

I do try to use the modalpopup extender, it works with the client button click but not with the server side method.
I even used the document.readyState == "complete" javascript method to be shure the whole page is loaded.
But I'm still unable to get that modalpopup extender control.
If the gridview and print button are inside the update panel,then the print fuction is not calling.
If i place the print button outside the update panel then it is working fine.
I'm able to change the mask value and mask type for ajax MaskedEditExtender using java script in run time but when I try to change the ValidationExpression and TooltipMessage for ajax MaskedEditValidator.
simply my code will call ChangeMask() function to do these changes when the check box change.
when you run my code the mask will work ok but not for MaskedEditValidator.

When user need to click the button in the parent update panel the modal popup will appear,
then in the popup if user click a button there I Need to show some text in a user control which placed in the panel.
See the html tag and tel me any solution. Its not working for the first click its working in the second click only.
