I'm calling PageMethod "SameMethod" from javascript method "caller" so that I can get some values from DB. After I get values, control is continuing in "onSuccess" method. Problem is that I need to use some variable values ("importantValue") from javascript method "caller" in "onSuccess" method.
function caller(){
var importantValue = 1984;
PageMethod.SomeMethod(param1,..., onSuccess, onFailure)
}
onSuccess method should be something like this:
function onSuccess(pageMethodReturnValue, importantValue ){
}
Is it possible and, if it is, how to pass multiple parameters (besides return values of page method) to "onSuccess" method of PageMethod?

What is wrong with this code? I am trying to pass parameters to a WCF function. I couldn't get this to work. I am getting Ajax error.
$.ajax({
url: applicationPath + "/Test.svc/GetData",
type: "POST",
dataType: "json",
data: '{GId":' + sender.get_value() + '"GName":' + sender.get_text() + '"mId":' + testId + '}',
contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
success: function(result)
{
//trying to fill combobox here
},
});

I am creating a grid with a code behind and in the hyper link column I would like to pass some parameters before passing users to a new page. If I just use one parameter, the CustomerID in the dataNavigateUrlFields and dataTextField then the
linkField.DataNavigateUrlFormatString = @"/details.aspx?Customerid={0}";
statment works fine.
Now my requirement is to pass multiple parameters and when I tried the following it gave a
'A field or property with the name 'System.String[]' was not found on the selected data source.'
Here is the code snippet:
HyperLinkField linkField = new HyperLinkField();
string[] dataNavigateUrlFields = { "CustomerID", "CompanyName", "FirstName" };
linkField.DataNavigateUrlFields = dataNavigateUrlFields;
string[] dataTextField = { "CustomerID", "CompanyName", "FirstName" };
linkField.DataTextField = dataTextField.ToString();
linkField.DataTextField = "CustomerID";
linkField.HeaderText = "Customer ID";
linkField.DataNavigateUrlFormatString = @"/details.aspx?Customerid={0}&CompanyName={1}&FirstName={2}";
Does some one know how pass the multiple parameters via the hyperlinkfield in C#?

In one of the web page say "Default1.aspx" I have a Gridview.I am using 2 DataKeyNames in Gridview. i.e., DataKeyNames="G_Name, Param_ID" Also, I have one Hyperlink inside Gridview, upon clicking, page navigates to other page say "Default2.aspx"
code of "Default1" page:
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" DataKeyNames="G_Name, Param_ID" AutoGenerateColumns="False" Width="100%" PageSize="8" AllowPaging="True" OnPageIndexChanging="GridView1_PageIndexChanging">
<Columns>
<asp:BoundField HeaderText="Goal Name" DataField="G_Name" Visible="false"/>
[Code]....
code of "Default2" page:
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) {
if (!Page.IsPostBack) {
string name = Request.QueryString[0].ToString();
string id = Request.QueryString[1].ToString();
}
}
I want to pass multiple parameters in querystring. I wrote above code.
Problem is: I am unable to write the correct syntax for Hyperlink NavigationUrlTherefore, it is giving me below error:
DataBinding: 'System.Data.DataRowView' does not contain a property with the name 'GF_Name, Param_ID'.
at Line:
<asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink1" runat="server" NavigateUrl='<%# Eval("GF_Name, Param_ID","~/Default2.aspx?Name={0}&Id={1}") %>'
Text='<%# Eval("GF_Name") %>'></asp:HyperLink>
how to resolve it.

I am using AJAX Cascading dropdown extender,and i have made a running dummy example.Using web service second dropdown is filled based on the selection of first drop down. But actual query that should fill second drop down have some more constraints in 'where' clause of the sql query, and that's value is too dynamic that (i cannot assume its value to be static). So i need that that variable's value in my web method too.

ALTER procedure [dbo].[SelectِDistrict]
@Region NVARCHAR(30),
@city NVARCHAR(40)

It worked correctly but now I use cascadingdropdown list
[WebMethod]
public CascadingDropDownNameValue[] GetDistrict(string knownCategoryValues)
{
string region = CascadingDropDown.ParseKnownCategoryValuesString(knownCategoryValues)["Region"];
string query = string.Format("SELECT District FROM District WHERE Region = N'{0}'", region);

I think I need to drop in some escape characters, but I'm not quite sure where. Here is the javascript function I'm attempting to call:
function setData(associateValue, reviewDateValue) {
var associate = document.getElementById("Associate");
var reviewDate = document.getElementById("ReviewDate");
associate.value = associateValue;
reviewDate.value = reviewDateValue;
}
Here is the asp .net mvc line where I'm attempting to create a Radio button with a click event that calls the above function and passes data from the model as javascript parameter values.
<%= Html.RadioButton("Selected", item.Selected, new { onClick="setData('<%=item.Associate%>','<%=item.ReviewDate%>' )" } )%>
The above throws a bunch of compile issues and doesn't work. A call such as the following does call the javascript, but doesn't get the data from the model.
<%= Html.RadioButton("Selected", item.Selected, new { onClick="setData('item.Associate','item.ReviewDate' )" } )%>
<%= Html.RadioButton("Selected", item.Selected, new { onClick="setData('item.Associate','item.ReviewDate' )" } )%>
<% String functionCall = String.Format("setData('{0}','{1}')", Html.Encode(item.Associate), Html.Encode(item.ReviewDate )) ; %>
<%= Html.RadioButton("Selected", item.Selected, new { onClick=functionCall } )%>

After upgrading our project to the .net 4.0 framework (from 3.5), we facing some problems with ajax calls with html in the parameters. As soon as the user enters some html in a text area the ajax call isn't executed anymore. If the user enters plain text only, there is no problem.

How can I pass two variable values to a web service web method using JavaScript and a DynamicPopulateExtender?
Some background of my issue:
I have a fully working cascading drop down list accessing a database.
My parent Cascading Drop Down List is a list of countries and the child displays the relative regions i.e.: USA returns Iowa, Maryland, Oregon etc.
I also have a 3rd Drop Down List control that allows the user to select the language to display the region details i.e.: Selecting the language of Chinese will return a list of regions of the USA in Chinese (held in the database).
I now want to display the translated country name from the 3rd Drop Down List in a label on the page.
I cannot just use the text from the country drop down list as this text value remains in English. The translated value must be returned from the database.
So far, I have installed a DynamicPopulateExtender:
[Code]....
I then wrote a web method (in the Cascading Drop Down local Web Service) to return the translated country name. To do this I have had to hard code the countryID (10663) and the translationLanguageID (1331) asshown below:
[Code]....
This does return the translated country name, but the variables are hard coded!
My question is how do I pass the countryID and the translationLanguageID to the Web Method GetTranslatedCountryName() from the DynamicPopulateExtender? Or even if there is a better way to achieve my task?

As per Yahoo's guidelines for performance of web sites , javascripts should be combined in one to avoid extra http request , as i saw in YSlow asp.net loads 3 to 4 scripts one for MicrosoftAjax.js , one for microsoft MicrosoftAjaxForms.js & some other 2 which may tondle postbacks & client side validations , I want these 4 js to be in one.
