when i execute the above code,i observed that in status bar message as "connecting to localhost",if they are client side controls what is the need of going to local server,why it is happening?
We get this Warning in the Event Log from time to time. It seems to crasch our web so an iisreset is required.I have checked the version of AjaxControlToolkit that we use - and it is the version it says it needs. So what should I do?
Exception information: Exception type: InvalidOperationException Exception message: The requested script resource 'Common.Common.js' requires version 'AjaxControlToolkit, Version=4.1.40412.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=28f01b0e84b6d53e' of the ASP.NET AJAX Framework. I have downloaded a dll that is for Glowish effects to Buttons. But the problem is that , Extender needs reference to an older version of AjaxControlToolkit, and in my project i have already used many controls based on that recent version. That i cannot change. How can i use this GlowExtender with the latest version of AjaxControlToolkit ?
I know why runat="server" is currently required (ASP.NET why runat="server"), but the consensus is that it should not be required if you incorporate a simple default into the design (I agree of course).
Would it be possible to modify, extend, decompile and recreate, intercept or otherwise change the behavior of how ASP.NET parses ASPX and ASCX files so that runat="server" would no longer be required? For instance, I assume that a version of Mono could be branched to accomplish this goal.
In case specific requirements are helpful, the following highlights one design:
During parsing, when configured namespace tags are encountered (such as "asp"), default the element's runat property to "server" During parsing, when configured namespace tags are encountered (such as "asp"), if the element's runat property value is available, then that value should be used in place of the default New page-level setting introduced (can be set in the page directive or web.config) that specifies the default runat value for a specific namespace tag
i am trying to create a datatable entering the columns that i create before, but i have a problem, the dataColumn doesn't have the required data, there is a AllowDbNull but it doesn't work.
Then i would like to add other restrctions like MinLegth.
I have to add some ajax to a site, and i can see that in the master page they are using traditional tag <form id="form1" action="ExternalSite.com?a=b" name="test">and I get a tag incorrectly formed when I add a runat="server" within the form tag - but without it I can't have a valid scriptmanager?
Since upgrading to VS2010, I've been having issuse up on issues with my apps. Some are pure asp.net web sites, other are webpats that are eventually be converted to a Sharepoint web part.
In one of these webparts, I'm building a tab control on the fly. It fetches data from the table via bll/dal. On my dev box I build this in the code file of the default.aspx file and rendering it in a panel, except that it get the said error. I'm quite sure this is how I've done it in VS2008, so I don't know what is going on here - see my code below.
I just downloaded the latest AjaxControlToolKit.dll (3.5.40412.0), and update it in my old project. When I compile the project, it shows sucessful. However, when I used my Customized Calendar, it got "AjaxControlToolKit Undefined"
ps: my old project is developed under AjaxControlToolKit.dll (3.0.20820.16598) . // README
I am migrating from IIS6 to IIS7, and IIS6 was fine with this. I already made one change (system.web to system.webServer) and I don't know what's wrong with it now.
We're trying to get a conditional attribute to work, case in point, there's a boolean (checkbox) that if checked, its related text is required. So, ideally we'd have something like ...
public bool Provision { get; set; }
[ConditionalRequirement(IsNeededWhenTrue = Provision)] public string ProvisionText { get; set; }
Is this even possible?
Alternate idea (not as elegant?) public bool Provision2 { get; set; } [PropertyRequired(RequiredBooleanPropertyName = "Provision2")] public string Provision2Text { get; set; }
I have created a new Web project (.Net 3.5) and I've removed the original Default page in favour of creating a Master page and then recreating a Default with Master page. All worked lovely. Now, when I add my controls inside of the ContentPlaceHolder on the Default page, I get compiler errors when I try to access the controls from the CodeFile:
Error 4 '_Default' does not contain a definition for 'FirstName' and no extension method 'FirstName' accepting a first argument of type '_Default' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
I'm having a problem with a multilanguage application in MVC. On my model I'm using the following:
[Code]....
This takes care of validation... However the messages are always in the default language. Meaning that the setting of the culture of my thread is occuring too late (I'm currently setting it in my base controller 'OnActionExecuting'). Where could I patch in to change the culture accordingly before validation takes place?
I want to know differences between ASP.Net WebControls and Html Controls (with runat="server" attribute).
I also want to know the possible scenarios where I have to (or want to) prefer Html Controls (with runat=server) in place of asp.net server controls?
In case of some good articles on web, do forward me. But dont forward me the links with differences between webcontrols and html controls, because my question intended for runat="server" attribute.
Im using ASP.NET 2.0 with C# for website development. I have created two master page Base.master and web.master.web.master refer to base.master as its master page. Base.master contains head(specified various CSS links) and body(some general controls and hyperlinks to other websites).Now i create test.aspx with web.master as its master..Now I try to implement ajaxtoolkit:calendarextender which initially gave me error that head tag should have runat="server"..This error got resolved but i lost CSS of my website and also calendarextender doesnt work. calendarextender works fine if I dont refer my master page.
I don't loose my CSS and calendarextender should work as normal.refer text.aspx
ASP.Net seems to want to rewrite the path to point to the absolute location. For example, If the control is on [URL] the link href will be rewritten to read
Why does Asp.Net rewrite these control paths, and is there an elegant way to fix it?
I just want the anchor control to spit out exactly what I tell it to!!! Is that so hard?
EDIT:
I've basically done what Kelsey suggested. I knew I could do it this way, but I don't like adding markup in my code when I want something relatively simple. At least it solves the problem:
As you can see by the amount of code needed for what is essentially supposed to be be a simple and light-weight anchor, it's not the most optimal solution. I know I could use a Literal but I figured this was cleaner as I'm adding more than one anchor.
I have my website, it's running fine on my machine, but when I upload it to a server I get this error Server Error in '/' Application. For my project, i have decided to use AjaxControlToolkit's ModalPopup controls. I have obtains codes from this website: [URL] After following all the steps provided by Matt, I am getting some problems when i want to save my edited information. Scenario 1: Select the first item from the gridview, modify the details at the details view and click save, gridview updates and shows the edited information and it is stored into the database.
Scenario 2: Select the second item onwards from the gridview, modify the details at the details view and click save, screen remains at detailsview and edited information is not saved, click cancel button to return to gridview, data at the gridview was not updated. So basically, the update function works only for the first item from the gridview. The following is parts of my code:
<%-- Display list of Activities according to the Project--%> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UP_ActList" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:GridView ID="GV_ActList" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataSourceID="SqlDS_ActList" DataKeyNames="dbID" OnSelectedIndexChanged="GV_ActList_SelectedIndexChanged"> <RowStyle BackColor="#EFF3FB" /> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="dbID" HeaderText="dbID" Visible="false" SortExpression="dbID" ReadOnly="true" InsertVisible="False" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="ActID" HeaderText="ActID" SortExpression="ActID" />

When I generate code using T4 templates in Visual Studio 2010, I get the following error for each of my asp controls when I try to compile:
Control "ddState" is missing required attribute "showat".
I have never gotten this error in previous versions of .NET. Further, I don't get this error when I manually construct my pages either by dragging/dropping, nor do I get it when I type out the control text myself. When I generate code, I have to manually add showat="client" to my tag for the compiler to be happy. It was my understanding that I never had to explicitly specify this tag. The following:
solves the problem. Why do I have to add this to generated code but not other times?(It's a VS-2010 webforms project, using VB, in case that makes a difference.)
I have a FormView which contains a table and a TextBox:
<TR> <td>CastomerName:</td>
<td>[code]....
and it works good.I changed the code to have a possibility for changing the row visibility. So, I added the row ID and runat="server". Changes are bolded:
After the runat="server" has been added to the <TR> then Bind() does not work. It reads the field value properly but writes NULL value. So, Bind() does not work or works bad. I tested the following:
1. When runat="server" is removed, than Bind() works good. The text from TextBox control is written to the database as expected.
2. When runat="server" is set and I set a default value in the ObjectDataSource - the default value is written to the database, so it means that path form ObjectDataSource works good and it means that text from TextBoxControl is not pased to the ObjectDataSource.
3. When runat="server" is set then text from TextBox.Text is never written to the database, instead null value is written.
! I have a problem : i don't know what happened but suddenly by Home.aspx.cs doesn't see my runat="server" controls from Home.aspx . Here is some code from Home.aspx :
[code]....
and in my home.aspx.cs i get the error "the name ascuns does not exist in the current context "
