am looking to save/update my webform through a server side button control. On button click, I'd like to disable the save/update button and show a progress bar of the save through a modal or some other trick disabling the form being saved.How can I implement this

I have gridview with SelectedIndexChanged event.
when I click on a record in gridview it should call the SelectedIndexChanged event and do some operations.
SelectedIndexChanged event is working OK, but when I put the gridview inside ajax updatepanle SelectedIndexChanged event will not response even if I add AsyncPostBackTrigger trigger for SelectedIndexChanged event.

I have a page with 2 update panels
UpdatePanel1 contains a gridview1 and a standard panel, pnlForms. gridview1 has a linkbutton which is processed in the gridview1_rowcommand
UpdatePanel2 has gridview2.
There is also a Submit button that isn't in either UpdatePanel but may be a candidate to go into its own UpdatePanel. The Submit button is a trigger for both update panels
The behavior I would like is:
1-Initially, all visible except pnlForms and Submit button 2- When linkbutton in UpdatePanel1 gridview1 is clicked, pnlForms and Submit button become visible. 3. When Submit button is clicked, both gridviews should be refreshed, and PnlForms and the Submit button should both become not visible. I believe I may have to put the Submit button in its own UpdatePanel3 but am not sure how to proceed.
In my present code, everything works as desired except Submit button (not presently in any Update panel) is always visible. Assuming Submit button is initialized to not visible, how do I get it to appear when I click the link button in gridview1 and to disappear when it is clicked?
I am trying to render the Button control @ serverside with PostBackUrl properties to set to another page ""~/page1.aspx". When I click on that button , it still postback to same page , does not postback to "page1.aspx" . I am trying to implement crosspage postback. I don't know button information and postbackurl info at design time. I Only know button and PostbackUrl info @ runtime.Code I am using

URL...In the above page, the button fires the javascript first, then the code-behind sub runs. The problem I have is I am in the middle of a code-behind sub routine that checks if a user is logged on the a PC. If there is a users logged on, I want the confirm popup to ask whether to reboot anyway or cancel. The code needs to dictate whether to call the javascript, not some direct button click. Then I need the remainder of the code-behind sub to execute based on the users choice.
I can call the client script in the code-behind sub using 'RegisterStartupScript...'; then I can get the page's form value. The problem is that the sub runs to completion without waiting for the javascript code to run. This causes code-behind variable to get checked before it's set by the client and it nevers works.
I know that I can receive an javascript object from the server via ASP.NET AJAX using Json. But I am not sure how can I send an javascript object from my client-side javascript to my server-side code. And if I can, how can I extract this object in my server-side code and access its members?

I have a breakpoint on the UploadedComplete event but it never fires. However, if you take the AsyncFileUpload control out of the , making it visible at initial page render, the control works as expected.
I have an accordion control and it is working fine. Except that when i set selectedindex to -1 (server side) and the control colapses to have no panes expanded. The client side diplay style for the previously expanded pane remains in the expanded colour scheme even though the pane has collapsed.

I've been searching for various posts on Excel and ASP.Net, and wanted to try and figure out if what I'm attempting has any chance of working. I have a special Excel workbook with a worksheet that has a bunch of calculations and such for various fields that creates an order for his crew. My client uses this Excel worksheet for everything. He's asking me to be able to see online orders (which I have), click a link and have the worksheet be passed down to the client all populated and formatted exactly as is (just adding/editing data).
Is this even possible? I'd have to load this specific .xls file, then open it on the server, save data to various cells, and then do a Save As and then binarystream it down to the client. I'm quite certain there is no version of Excel loaded on the server. So I'm perplexed as to how to accomplish this. Has anyone encountered this situation before and been able to accomplish what's being asked?

View 5 RepliesI've got two textboxes running server side and have their visibility turned off. I'm using a couple of ASP.NET controls which require the textboxes to exist. However, I am filling them from the code behind and would not like the user to see this. Can the user turn the visibility on and see the values entered in the text box? I tried using FireBug, and I couldn't seem to select the visibility option in order to edit it. However, I'm quite new to Firebug, so there may be another way? Or does running it server side mean that the client can't ever view the contents of the textbox?
