AJAX :: Show Value In Label On Textbox Change Event?

I want to show value in label on textbox change event , means when user enter text in text box then this value should display in label . I am using this:

I have a component which is listening a server from TCP/IP.
When somebody connects to the system my component's Connected event is fired.
I want to write to a label when this event is fired without postback.
I used UpdatePanel. And I know about AsyncPostBackTrigger.
But my component is not a visual component. So I declared in codebehind. So I can not use AsyncPostBackTrigger.
How can I set my label.text value when component's event runs.

the name of my aspx page is display.aspxin header of this page i have called a javascript jscript.jsinside jscript.js there is a call to acomp.aspx which fetches autocomplete results which are displayed on textbox dropdown on display.aspxafter selecting an item from the textbox dropdown, i have to press search btn to response.redirect to other page.but i want to response.redirect as soon as autocomplete item is clicked.this is my textbox with auto-complete feature:

Since I was not able to figure out my previous problem I decided to go ahead and make my own update statements and change the update command on a datasource I have. So I have a few textboxes and whatnot that allow you to change data and then click an update button. When I click that update button the page seems to refresh as if it was updating the record but the data in the boxes reverts back to what it was. I also created a ONUpdated sub and the label text change does not show.

i have a text box with textchanged event and autopostback=true and textchanged event which takes user to other page with textbox's chanegd value.i have applied a jquery to the textbox. when i start entering alphabets, a listofitems is show.eg:if i type the, I GET HTE HOTEL,THE MALL,THE BEACHs soon as i click on any thing(say THE HOTEL), asp.net takes me to the otherpage with only THE as text. and not THE HOTELthis is happening as the event is raised when i click on a choice which is as good as i am clicking outside of textbox. thus the asp.net working is fine.

I have an asp:TextBox with asp:RegularExpressionValidator to validate if it's a number. Obviously an onchange event will be attached to this textbox while rendering. Also I add a change event at $(document).ready to make some calculation when the value is changed.

I've a textbox in grid view control. When user inserts some value in textbox a confimation message should be displayed to user. eg. "Do you want to update record?". if user clicks on yes/ok then some code should be executed else if user clicks cancel/no the return to same page. I've tried using
ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(page, page.GetType(), "key2", "confirm('Do you want to update?');", true); on text changed event of textbox. But was not able to achieve desired result.

I have a textBox control where I want the string: "User" to be written with a Gray color with a Italic style as default.
Now when a mouseclick occur in this box, I want this string to dissapear and I want the Forecolor to turn to Black and Normal style (not italic).
I trying to see if there is any events in the TextBox for mouseclicks and so on but are not sure if I can find anything like that in the events. I can only find the TextChanged_event.

I have an asp page with a textboxes, labels and other controls. I cannot get the .text to change in any of these controls. I click on button which I execute code that I expect to update the text but it doesn't work. Something like Textbox1.text = "Hello" Are there page level properties/settings I should look at? I am perplexed an looking for a place to start. I will provide more information as needed. I just don't know where to start.

I am working on a project where the customer has a large database of products, they want to select the product by the id number and I thought it best that the description also show up. What I have is a dropdownlist that is linked to the id number in the database table and that works just fine. My problem comes when populating the corresponding description from the table into either a textbox or label(doesn't matter which one I use) I can accomplish this without ajax just fine but we would like to reduce the postbacks to the server. I have never used ajax before Here is my code from the aspx file.

I have a server side procedure that opens a tcp socket to a server then recieves chunks of data from the server. The server side code does this in a loop, collects the data as a string, then finally displays the data in a textbox. It all works fine.
My problem is, as the chunks of bytes are returned, I need to update a client textbox or lable showing bytes received on each iteration of the loop. I've tried injecting client side java and I've tried using such things as the updatepanel and/or updateprogress controls. I haven't gotten anything to work. It always seems to only update the client on the last iteration. i.e. in a server side procedure/loop, update a client side textbox/label. Or maybe tell me what I am doing wrong?
