looking for some sites or links to samples of using the modalpopup to display when session is about to expire.similar to godaddy.com.If it cant be used anyother solutions available to accomplish the same thing have an application we are building that they want to have something similar to that on the pages.They want to warn / prompt that their session is about to expire.Similar to online banking.
I am looking for sample code where a button click on the server side will spawn a modal child page, having couple of controls such as textboxes and a button, where one could enter values in the text boxes and click the button; once the button is clicked, the page should postback to the parent page, where the entered values could be read. There is a video on this site about AJAX control kits describing modal popup, but unfortunately it wouldn't serve my purpose.
View 3 RepliesI have a login which of coarse sets a session. session("User") = "Yes" if that session is "Yes" then ....they are logged in. But. I can for the life of me, determine why the session is ending on its own....at no specific time. Once you do a few thing on the site ....it ends....and never at the same time...it could be 1 minute. it could be 10... Are there any Alternatives to using session state. Many people have looked at my code and found NOTHING wrong at all.

Certain records we need to prompt for additonal information and confirmation so we are using a modalpopup, but other records dont need the popup, so how can i disable or prevent the modalpopup from opening for those records?

View 7 RepliesOn the page is a div id'd as loginBar, and I have a corresponding visibility attribute. Also on the page is a simple modal popup and its controls.The issue is that whenever the login Div is set to hidden, the popup is also hidden. I cannot figure out why the two are linked. It is not the id name of the div, feel free to change it to whatever you like, and I don't believe I have any malformed tags.

I am displaying a Modalpopup programmatically with todo_modalpopup.show() in serverside code. The Panel's Style is set to display:none.. But when I click on the target control id (which is inside the Grid) , the panel loads fully in the page itself and then displays the modal popup.
View 5 RepliesUsing StringBuilder im building my object in code behind so its customize for our needs.. I placed a Literal control within the modalpopup and populating it when you click on a button..On my test page everything works great to display it and when fed a value video file, it plays.. on that page, it wasnt contained within a modalpopup.Now on my actual dev page that i need it on, i placed the literal control within the modalpopup, and when you click on the button, it builds the object..my modal popup comes up and everything shows up except the object which is weird, because within the stringbuilder i have 4 buttons below the object and those show up, just not the object control itself.. can a object not be built and displayed like this?What makes it weirder is that when the modal popup opens, you can view the source of the page and my entire customize object control is there, but it just doesnt render on the page..

Don't get any errors, the panel popsup as is supposed to, but the background doesn't gray out and the background of the panel doesn't display correctly either (it is black). The background of the main page doesn't change. To make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, I downloaded the samplcode (vb) from the AJAX website, and created a completely new web page, css file, .vb file, etc. Still have the same issue. I am using the latest version of ajaxcontroltookit ( 4.1.40412.0), VS 2010 RC, and VB)

I want to prompt the user when 2minutes will left in session timeout. If user press Yes it refreshes its current session without losing the form data if user select No then it logout its session. I want to know how to capture that two minutes are remaining and how to refresh the current session without losing form data. Here is a brief description of the application:The application is written in C# ASP.NET version 4.0 and is to be hosted on an IIS6 web server. The purpose of the application is to serve as a download page for sensitive documents. There will be several levels of access which will be granted according to user credentials stored in a SQL table. I don't want the application to check the user's NT ID and either allow or disallow access to the application depending on whether they are authorized or not, I want it to filter on data i.e. everyone can view the application, it will just limit the data they can view depending on their access.
point me in the direction of some source code that can check the NT ID of user's local machines and compare it to a table in SQL?
