Javascript - AJax JSON Call Error When Trying To Access The Properties Of Class

Oct 7, 2010

I am making a JSON call to web method which is defined in code behind. The web method returns a class object.The class returns 3 properties one of type list and 2 integers. I am accessing these in the following manner:

success: function(result) {
alert(result);
alert(result.LookCount);
alert(result.length);
if(result.LookCount > 0)
{
var Info = "";
for(var i = 0;i < result.LookUps.length; i++)
{
Info += CreateLookUpGrid(result.LookUps[i].Client,result.LookUps[i].ClientOrg);
}

alert(result.LookCount) -> alerts undefined and when i alert result it shows me the compelte result string which has all data. So the data is returned correctly by web method. But I am unable to access it.

C# - Load A User Control In An Ajax WCF Service And Access Custom Properties?

Apr 4, 2011

I can load a generic user control just fine in my WCF service doing the following:

UserControl userControl= (UserControl) new Page().LoadControl("~/UserControls/MyControl.ascx");

However i can't seem to find any way to do this

MyControl myControl=(MyControl)userControl;

The reason i need to do this is because my user control has a custom property, person, I need to do the following:

myControl.Person=new Person();

essentially i need to simulate:

<%@ Reference Control="~/UserControls/MyControl.ascx" %>

which normally goes inside asp.net page or master-pages.any way of doing this in an Ajax Enabled WCF Service?

AJAX :: Accordion Control Access In Javascript Using Content Page

Sep 9, 2010

I struggled with some javascript issues, and discovered that the problem seemes to come from a failed ajax control access. Here's my problem: I have a master page and a content page.In my content page, I have an accordion with 2 panes. 1rst pane: a textbox and a validation button; I want the button to fire javascript function without reloading page (using "return false;");

In my master page, I put my ToolkitScriptManager.
In my content page, I put my script containing the functions.

The problem is that it seems like I can't access the accordion control in my js functions, whereas I can access my textbox value. ere is my source:

[Code]....

All I want is, that when clicking on button OR changing to 2nd pane, it checks the textbox (function check()), if fails, then doesn't open 2nd pane, stays on 1rst, if not, then closes 1rst and changes to 2nd pane.

AJAX :: Accessing CollapsiblePanelExtender Properties In Javascript?

Feb 22, 2010

I have implemented a CollapsiblePanelExtender with a button that collapses/expands a panel. I also have a javascript function that can collapse the expanded panel when a certain condition exists somewhere else on the page.

The problem I am having is when I programatically collapse the panel, the extender is not aware, so the Collapsed property remains false and the CollapsedImage and CollapsedText are not updated. The next time I click the button, the extender is updated to a collapsed state, but nothing happens on the page because the panel was already collapsed. It is just resynchronizing the Collapsed, CollapsedImage, and CollapsedText properties to match the panel's already collapsed state.

Is there a way I can update the Collapsed, CollapsedImage, and CollapsedText properties in javascript to match the actual state of the panel?

AJAX :: Get AccordionBehavior And Its Properties In Client Side Javascript?

Jan 25, 2011

Recently I met a problem when I try to use 'behavior' things with an Ajax Control.

I try to use an accordion's accordionbehavior on client side.But whenever I tryied

alert($find('myaccordionId').AccrodionBehavior.AutoSize) // prompt me: AccordionBehavior is null

or

alert($find('myaccordionId').AutoSize) //prompt me: 'AutoSize' is null or not an object

Although I can get

alert(AjaxControToolkit.AccordionBehavior) //prompt: is an object

I am using AjaxControlToolkit.dll(1.0.20229) and .Net framework(2.0.50727), I really wondered why I always get null for those object instead of proper value like what Ajax ControlTookkit Accordion Reference said to be [URL] am I missing something.

Jquery - Creating A Custom Control In Javascript Properties And Methods?

Feb 23, 2011

As a starting point for creating custom controls, I would like to make a control that simply displays a number. If we imagine the .ascx file contains nothing except for a literal control, and the code behind sets that value to 1.

I then want to be able to do myControl.increment();
This will run some javascript that increases the value of the literal control.

I could inject a javascript into the page, such as pseudocode:

page_load
{
scriptything.register("function increment(x) { $('#myLiteral').increment(); });
}

or something, but that wouldn't be myControl.increment, that would just be increment(). More than one control on the page would screw it up.

Unable To Access Dynamic Controls Inside Ascx Using Javascript On Aspx Page

Jun 2, 2010

I have a user control (ascx) which contains a control (hidden field). In the page_load event of ascx, i have the below code:

HyperLink.Attributes.Add("onclick", "JavaScript:return AccessControl('" + hdnField.UniqueID + "');");
Note: The hidden field resides in .ascx file.

I want to access this hidden field at runtime and i have the below javascript function in aspx page that loads the usercontrol.

function AccessControl(hdnFieldId)
{
var ctrl = document.getElementById(hdnFieldId);
alert(ctrl);

I am getting 'null' value in the alert. I tried using 'ClientID' and 'this' instead of 'UniqueId'. I am wondering why this is not working. I am using .net 2.0.

Web Forms :: Access User Control Properties In Another User Control

Nov 9, 2010

I want to use a couple of instances of the same control on a page. The user control is intended to display a list of records in a repeater. The aim is that the second control will show a list excluding the IDs in the first control The control has a number of public properties, including IDsInThisList, and IDstoExclude. The query will exclude the IDs in the second property.

What I would like to do is get the record IDs from the first instance of the control (IDsInThisList), and pass them to the second contro as the IDsToExclude.

I have a test page where I am setting the properties of the controls in code. As you might guess, it's not working! The first control displays the top 3 items, as desired, but the second display the records 1-7, rather than records 4-10 because it is not receiving the IDstoExclude from the first control When I response write the IDstoExclude from the first control in my testpage, the string is empty. (if I do it from within the control, it shows the IDs)

How can I get the controls to fire in order and pass values to each other?

Screen grab of test page + uc and test page code attached
