C# - Disconnecting Users Terminal Service Session Via Local Intranet
Aug 11, 2010
I have written code that uses a .bat file (code: rwvinstat /server:servername) that populates a DataGrid of users logged in to a terminal service session in c#. The .bat lives on the server with the app. files and will run properly if executed manually on the server .Also if i run the app. locally and call the .bat file on the server it works fine.
The problem is when i deploy my web app on the server the DataGrid never populates nor do i get any errors. i have given full permissions to IUSER_MACHINENAME(and various users) and i set the virtual directory permissions to read, run, execute. Ialso have set my web.conf fig to:< "identity impersonate="true" userName="username" password="password"/> Here is my Source code:

psi.RedirectStandardOutput = true;
psi.WindowStyle = System.Diagnostics.ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden;
psi.UseShellExecute = false;
System.Diagnostics.Process listFiles;
listFiles = System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(psi);
System.IO.StreamReader rawUserData = listFiles.StandardOutput;
listFiles.WaitForExit(20000);

I started working on an ASP.NET web app for my companies local intranet. While coding it, I emailed our IT team, to get an intranet domain/server setup.
So, they emailed me back with the server credentials+the domain. But, I'm not really sure what to do from here.
How I need to setup the server and ASP.NET settings to get everything working?
I want to Find the Printer under the Local Area network(intranet).
After press print button, its give printout with out popup the print-window. is it posible in web allplication. if its posible means how can i approch.
I've got a pretty simple vb.net page that has a bunch of data listed in a datagrid and each row in the datagrid has an accompanying .pdf form listed in a column. The user reviews the data, and if needed clicks on the hyperlink that opens the .pdf in another IE browser window. After reviewing the .pdf in the other window, the user may need to dowload it to their pc to add notes, highlights, text, etc. Since they have the .pdf open in the browser window on the pc, is it possible to then just drag/drop the .pdf to their desktop to edit locally?? If that isn't possible in .NET what other options are there?
Right-click | Save As isn't a good enough option, becuase the user won't know if they need to download and edit it until the .pdf is actually open. My initial thought of once they have it open in IE, just do a file, save as, won't work either, as it requires too many clicks.
I'm quite newbie and i need to give access to the website at a very low cost, but just few people, how did you guys manage it, to hide the connection link to the public. I mean is there a better way or not to manage this. I don't know if I'm clear. What would be the cheapest way to manage this user account?
I'm connecting sucessfully to a WebService but when I try to connect from an "Intranet" to the external WebService i don't have enought rights to reach the external server. Is there any thing that i can do programatically in order to skip these rights?
and Write() throws an exception with "Unable to write data to the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." text. I used System.Net tracing and found that something goes wrong when I send the request with Content-Length set.
Specifically if I omit everything that is inside using statement in the code above the server promptly replies with WWW-Authenticate and then the client reposts the request with WWW-Authenticate and everything goes fine except the file in not uploaded and the request fails much later.
I'd like to do the following: send an request without data, wait for WWW-Authenticate, then repeat it with WWW-Authenticate and data. So I tried to modify the code above: first set all the parameters, then call GetResponse(), then do sending, but when I try to set ContentLength property an exception is thrown with "This property cannot be set after writing has started" text. So HttpWebRequest seems to be non-reusable.
How do I reuse it for resending the request without closing the connection?
Is there room for issue in the following code in terms of multiple users of the same web application? I mean, I know that a purely static string will be shared across all sessions for a single ASP.NET application, but since this explicitly refers to the Current.Session, even though it is static it seems like it would always refer to the session instance of the "current user." But an error is happening that could be explained by everyone sharing the current value of Mode and thus the most recent change overwriting everyone else's mode value. (As a background: This string is in a Helpers class that is used throughout the application. I do not want to make references to Session["Mode"] throughout the application and do not want to have to pass Session["Mode"] in every method call from an aspx.cs page.)
public static string Mode { get { var value = HttpContext.Current.Session["Mode"]; return (value ?? string.Empty).ToString(); } set { HttpContext.Current.Session["Mode"] = value; } }
A customer has sent my a screen shot of their event log which shows an error from my ASP.Net app, the problem is it shows the line number where the error occurred but references my PC and the path into my files. Why? There's no references in my code
I have VWD 2010 Express installed. While developing I would like my co-workers to test the application (the parts that are "finished"). When I click "View in browser" for some web form of my application or "Start debugging" the app is shown in my browser at:
http://localhost:3424/Default.aspx
My IP on local network is 192.168.1.14. How can my co-workers access this page?
Note: I do not have IIS instaled (just ASP.NET Development Server).
I want to populate members of a local computer group on a webpage and allow the user to add / remove users of that remote computer from a group say Administrators or Remote Users Group.
The application pool will be running with a user who is admin on all remove systems.
There are 5-6 insert, select queries at my project. All queries and program works fine at device simulator.In fact all queries also works at the device (intermec - windows mobile 6.1 classic) but "only one of the insert query" doesnt work (very simple one : insert into members values(a,b,c,d,e) like this.) at the device.
I have a local application which parses data. What i need is to develop a web interface to query statistics and set configurations for the application thats running at all times. Since I am the developer of both applications I have full access to both source.
My main goals here are:
- have a service or app running at all times on the webserver doing most of the work
- have a webUI which will connect to this app and display stats and make configurations
- service/app will be writen in C#
- WebUI will be written in asp or php
- the WebUI must be accessable through the web domain ie: http://server/TestApp on default port 80 were there are other web apps running already.
I know there are ways to do this using a specific port to communicate to eachother, but i would like to avoid this. What is the best way to communicate between these apps?
I am making application with portable data terminal which connected to serial port. User will go with portable data terminal and scan data with it than we will connect it to PC and read all the data from it.
I have upgraded my laptop to Windows7, VS2010, .net Framework 4 and then upgraded my ASP.NET Web Application to ASP.NET 4.I am now getting the error: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?). This error occurs in a local web service thatI have written and was working before I upgraded my system.I think this has something to do with the changes made to the web.config file when my web application was upgraded to the .net 4 Framework.I have searched the forums and Goggle, but cannot solve my issue.
I wrote WCF service and i by creating new Web Sites - i added new WCF service that will host my WCF service.
In the 'Web location' i define the service to be HTTP and the URL to be "http://localhost/MyService"
Now i want to access thru some other machine ( in the same network ) to my machine and get using the Service method that my WCF service exposed - but i fail each time ( calling from the second machine "http://a.b.c.d/MyService/interfaceMethodName")
If i try to call the web service thru the same machine - i get the right response.
I have an application running on my Home pc and with which i also have expose a webservice. But it is on my local machine.
My question is that i dont have any webserver purchased and i want to call my this local webservice from any where on internet. Is there any free service available on internet which can proxy my local webservice on internet?
I am migrating an existing set of applications from Win XP to Win 7. We have a 3rd party application which is launched by and runs in the user's session which accesses a local SQL Anywhere 9 database via ODBC (launched on demand using dbeng9). On the same machine we have an ASP.NET website which also accesses the local SQL Anywhere database via ODBC. These two applications play nicely together in Win XP because both processes are running in Session 0.
In Win 7 the ASP.NET site encounters an ODBC error stating that the specified database file is already in use. This is because the 3rd party app starts first and spins up an instance of dbeng9 (via ODBC) in the user's session (usually Session 1). Then, the ASP.NET spins up and attempts to connect to the same database. The ODBC driver sees that an instance of dbeng9 is not running in the current session (Session 0) and attempts to spin up an instance at which time it is unable to access the database file because it is already in use by the logged on user in Session 1.
Does anyone have any suggestions for solving session isolation issues with local SQL Anywhere databases?
I thought about running dbeng9 as a service rather than allowing ODBC to spin up an instance on demand. However, because SQL Anywhere is bundled with the 3rd party product the PCs do not have dbsrv and I'm not sure how this would impact the licensing.
The ASP.NET site is only accessed from the local PC. Would running the ASP.NET site in a 3rd party web server cause it to execute in the user's session? (Note: because this runs on 1,000 machines a free or very low cost option is a must.)
Is the ASP.NET Development Server that is bundled with Visual Studio redistributable in this manner? Can IIS 7 or IIS 7 Express be configured to run in "local only" mode in which it executes in the user's session?
I am having a webmethod that returns some data.I'm using jquery to call that function with its Content type specified as XML.The problem is that it is working on local machine but not on server.The code i'm using is:
var arrInputs = pnl.getElementsByTagName("input"); str = arrInputs[0].value; $.ajax({[code]....
Ajaxfinish is defined afterwards and it works fine on local.Is there some more settings i need to do to make it executable
how to create a Web service that returns a JSON(or JSONP). That also should be able to work for cross-domain access aswell as for a local call.. help to get this working or for a few links for further reading about this
