I just wrote an application level err handler for my website. The errors are saved in sql server. Now I download the info back into a datagrid and on the selectedrow changed I put the stacktrace and other big fields in textboxes like so :

However the text is now formatted like this :
txtSearchClient = ""
instead of :
txtSearchClient = "";
I've confirmed that the text is in the right format in SQL server but I cna't find a way to deencode it.
I have a datagrid include 10 columns,and the eighth column is the template column created by asp label .Now I would like to display long text string and wrap the text in this template column .I used the property " itemstyle-wrap=true" in my page ,but can not work .
I have 3 .net Lists items,I need to merge them all into one,to order them and bind them to a datagrid. However,I need a way of indicating which original list each item came from,so that I can identify this in the datagrid (change color or font etc).
I have a textbox and a button. On page load I select one column from one row and put its value in the textbox. I have a button click method that updates the same column/row with the new value in the same textbox.
The problem i'm having is that when I clear the text in the text box, type in new data and hit submit the new text value is not being saved, it uses the old one.
I put a breakpoint at the end of my button click method and it appears that asp.net is sending the old value of the textbox rather than the new one I put in. I'm totally stumped.
Datagrid is in content,When trying to access client side function for the cells in the datagrid,its always showing at 0 position suppose i have 10 rows,for each row "Test button" i should invoke the client side java script. For each row "Test button" client side script is displaying message at first row only.

I have <span> tags in the cells of my datagrid which determine which background color to use. I also want the user to be able to click any cell and highlight the entire row. This works anywhere there's not a span tag. The span tag is somehow canceling this out. What would you do so that fields inside a span tag act like regular fields where you can click on them and the entire row is highlighted?
Is there a way in .net to display the text automatically when i type the first letter or word in a text box? I am looking for something like MS-Excel.. In MS-Excel, if the first word is given, automatically it displays the remaining texts, only if values are given previously.
I put a link on a datagrid that when loaded is attacehd to a url from the DB. Well when the Db holds nothing for that URl I need to be able to redirect to antoher page. Here is what I have so far. But It does not work, still using asp.net 1.1. Am i doing this correct or is there a different way.

I'm working with an MVC1.0 web app and I've found a bit of an odd anomaly.
I have a search box on the first page (normal text box) and the input from this is passed through to the ViewData and on to the second page.
On the second page, I render a TextArea with this search input text from the ViewData.
Eg:
[Code]....
The problem is, there is an extra line break in the TextArea, just above the original text.
Stranger still is that if I now submit this page and the view is reloaded (after validation fails) - the original string of text has been trimmed and has no line breaks, but the TextArea now has 2 line breaks above the original text.
This can be repeated - every time the page reloads it has another line break.
It's driving me insane - does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
FYI, you can check it out yourself - on your mobile phone, browse to [URL], punch something in the search box and hit search. You'll notice one line break added the first time the page loads. Then just hit "Find Best Offer" without entering a budget or selecting a category, and you'll see what I mean about the additional line breaks.

i'm binding the retreived data to a cell in gridview. if the data is like "text entered is morethan 20 characters" then i want to display it in gridview cell as "text entered is more..." . can anoyone please tell me how ca i do this.
