Can A Theme / Skin Alter The Appearance Of The Button In A FileUpload Control

I've found very little on developing skins for controls online. I can do everything except to know what the attributes / properties in a skin file are. I need a good resource for all attributes / properties for controls. Apart from that is it possible to do a lot more than can be achieved with css. In particular to change the appearance of the FileUpload button so that it matches all the other ImageButtons' appearances on my web page.

I have four themes： Theme1, Theme2, Theme3, Theme4. Under every theme, it contains a skin file and css file. In every themes, there are some same css elements, skin elements and different css elements, skin elements. How can I put the same css elements, skin elements under one shared thems instead of every themes.

I'm in the process of building a webforms site. In the grand tradition of programmers, I have been looking for collections of skins/themes/css for asp.net controls to avoid the work of building them myself.Especially since I'm graphically challenged. I've found numerous sites with templates for drupal, DNN, etc but the only places I've found asp.net control themes/skin/css collections is within commercial component libs that cost more than i'm able to afford.
The absence of these collections is also making me question how I'm building the site since I assume the "theme" sites would be providing these collections if there was a demand.
Can anyone point me to where I can find inexpensive or free asp.net theme/skin collections or give me some pointers about how to build a site without requiring a bunch of work to create them from scratch.

We have a legacy app with multiple asp.net themes. Each theme have a .skin file. Each skin file is almost identical except for some things. The files share a lot of similarities. Is it possible to share a common .skin file across themes?

I would like to change a Theme in an ASP.NET web application, depending on the login credentials. So, if user1 logs in, then the Theme will automatically be set to say User1Theme. And if user2 logs in, then the theme will automatically be set to User2Theme. Otherwise, I would like the theme to be set to DefaultTheme.

I'm trying to set the appearance of a Login web control, but I'm having quite a few problems. As far as I can tell, I've set everything correctly, but for some reason control still isn't displayed correctly:
a) The width of the two TextBox controls ( with IDs UserName and Password ) should be equal to 70% of table's width, but it isn't, even though I've set their width attributes.
b) If table cells containing lblPassword and lblPassword controls have their text-align property set to center, then lblPassword and lblPassword overflow. Why is that?

I have a web application, in which browser's back button functionality should be customized. It's like, whenever we click on browser's back button, it should take us to landing page(Login page), It should display error message saying that 'session expired. Please login again'.

I have a repeater bound to a datasource that servers as a list of birds. When the user clicks an item in the list the bird's image is displayed on the page. I want to change the background color of the item that is currently selected in the OnClick handler for the main item in my repeater's ItemTemplate.
I have changed the styling of controls prgrammatically before and it worked fine but in those cases i used the ID of the control to directly access it in my code behind file. But since this is some arbitrary item in a repeater I don't know it's ID at runtime, all I have is the sender object passed to the control's OnClick handler. So in my code behind file, I tried casting the sender object passed to the OnClick handler to the appropriate type and used Style.Add("background-color", highlitColor) but it failed to change anything.
I had a thought - maybe this sender object gets passed by value so all I did was change the Style of a COPY of the control item.
If this is indeed my problem, how do I start with a casted sender object in an event handler and get a reference to the actual control in order to change it's Style?

I implemented a lot of ASP.NET controls inheriting controls from existing control library. My problem is that I can't use existing library themes/ skin files for skinning my controls. Is there a way to use existing skin files in inherited controls? Changing parts or renaming skin files is not an option. I could read data from skin file and then apply it to control programatically. Is there some kind of API for reading skin files?
