I would like to change a Theme in an ASP.NET web application, depending on the login credentials. So, if user1 logs in, then the Theme will automatically be set to say User1Theme. And if user2 logs in, then the theme will automatically be set to User2Theme. Otherwise, I would like the theme to be set to DefaultTheme.

In every themes, there are some same css elements, skin elements and different css elements, skin elements. How can I put the same css elements, skin elements under one shared thems instead of every themes.

In the grand tradition of programmers, I have been looking for collections of skins/themes/css for asp.net controls to avoid the work of building them myself.Especially since I'm graphically challenged. I've found numerous sites with templates for drupal, DNN, etc but the only places I've found asp.net control themes/skin/css collections is within commercial component libs that cost more than i'm able to afford.
The absence of these collections is also making me question how I'm building the site since I assume the "theme" sites would be providing these collections if there was a demand.
Can anyone point me to where I can find inexpensive or free asp.net theme/skin collections or give me some pointers about how to build a site without requiring a bunch of work to create them from scratch.
I am using Theme and skin to my current project.

We have a legacy app with multiple asp.net themes. Each theme have a .skin file. Each skin file is almost identical except for some things. The files share a lot of similarities. Is it possible to share a common .skin file across themes?
View 1 RepliesI've found very little on developing skins for controls online. I can do everything except to know what the attributes / properties in a skin file are. I need a good resource for all attributes / properties for controls. Apart from that is it possible to do a lot more than can be achieved with css. In particular to change the appearance of the FileUpload button so that it matches all the other ImageButtons' appearances on my web page.

But on a admin directory, i use a different theme. So i change the aspx file header:
theme="themeAdmin"
But right now he uses both themes. I would like to change it so in the admin directory he should use 1 theme and not the default one. How can i change that ?
of course by deleting it from the web.config and adding it to all other aspx files. But i want to use it in the web.config for the deftheme items.

View 2 RepliesWe have a problem on a new server where disabling a themed button loses its theme. This happens consistently on all buttons now.
We just switched to a new iis server 7.5 using asp.net framework 4.0
Before, the buttons through out the website have a nice style/theme. These are not set inside each button and there are no classes set specifically for buttons I dont think but I believe inherit the theme from I believe the web.config in either:
All the buttons did display a nice light blue gradient, and when disabled they go a few shades lighter blue
For some reason now in .net framework 4.0 all disabled buttons seem to lose their theme and become the default grey color. Enabling them again brings its theme back
why the disabled button would look different now?

I am trying to "behind the scenes" log myself into a website, from the VB code behind my ASP.NET website. But I am dumbfounded as to how to do this.
As far as I know I should be using the WebRequest or Webclient class. That is about as much as I know. I am not sure how to use the class.
I want to click a button on my website and have its Click event send a username and password to another website. This other site isot affiliated with mine. I realize the concept may seem stupid, but I plan on taking this further later, but Just need to know this now.
What I would like to accomplish is: when user goes to www.mysite.com, then depending on whether he is logged in or not, he would see either login page or his home page. I do not want to redirect to other pages, I want the url to show as www.mysite.com in both cases. Kind of like when you go to facebook.com, it will either show you login page or your wall, all with the same url.
