I am using DotNetNuke and I have posted this in their forum. But it is more appropriate here. I am trying to upload a 13 MB video file to my site ( a .flv file) using the file manager function under the host login. I understand that .NET limits the upload size to 4 MB for security reasons. In accordance with other posts here I added this code to my web.config file to allow bigger upload.
<httpRuntime maxRequestLength="51200" enable = "True"
I added it in the system.web section. Now, I still get this error:
"An error has occurred.DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Maximum request length exceeded. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Maximum request length exceeded. at System.Web.HttpRequest.GetEntireRawContent() at System.Web.HttpRequest.GetMultipartContent() at System.Web.HttpRequest.FillInFormCollection() at System.Web.HttpRequest.get_Form() at System.Web.HttpRequest.get_HasForm() at System.Web.UI.Page.GetCollectionBasedOnMethod(Boolean dontReturnNull) at System.Web.UI.Page.DeterminePostBackMode() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint,
Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace.
I've been using an asp 3.0 widget for this purpose , but it been broken for a while and rather than get it back up, I'd love o get a native asp.net solution, can any one point me in the right direction pleaseI once wrote some asp.net code to do this, but the permissions on the server, which I found to be common every where prevented asp.net native picture upload, perhaps i got it wrong, well now I wanna fix itI need the code to work in a shared hosting IIS 7 environment. I use vb.net, but can usually convert c# to vb.net
View 1 RepliesI am working at a site not orginally devleoped by me. The problem is that all the pages are working fine and have no problem at my local site. but the site is not showing any content at live site from database. Niether it shows an error for it. How can I find the problem?
View 7 RepliesI am neither a server administrator nor very knowledgable about how to configure IIS, so I have the following problem:
My client hosts their public website from their own internal server running Server 2003 with IIS 6. The current website is a .NET 1.1 application configured as a website in IIS. Within this site a separate virtual directory configured as an application runs a separate .NET 1.1 app that serves as their online webstore.
I've been tasked with upgrading the website (not the webstore) to .NET 4 and getting it installed and working on their server. My initial plan was to simply change the existing websites home directory to the new home directory from the IIS admin console and be done, but then I read that this would break the application directory that hosts their online store because .NET 1.1 applications cannot be nested within .NET 4 applications. Can anyone confirm this?
I am having serious issue running a MVC web site from IIS 6 especially with Windows authentication mode. I know its very simple but missing some ting between. Succeeded configuring MVC on IIS 6. Now Trying to enable Windows Authentication mode on MVC Web Site, Steps included in my configuration
- enabled windows authentication mode in web.config
- Enabled Integrated Windows Authentication on IIS web site under Directory Security.
- Given permissions to a Domain group (eg: asiaDomainGrp) [Read, Write] Do i need to add ASP.NET Machine accountIUSR_<machines name> under this?
During the intial loading, I am trying to query Active Directory to get authenticated user's full name to display on default page, this is not success full due to some issue, later I changed to "HttpContext.User.Identity.Name". Now I could able to access Default page from the web server, but real heck is here. For some reason IIS is using NT AUTHORITYANONYMOUS LOGON.

I have separated two servers as Web server/Database server.
im new to asp.net, i have a dating software and it uses vwd2008, currently the software installed was the wrong 1, now i need to reinstall the new with chat.
I was told by the supplier that i can overwrite the existing files with the new package that has the chat. They say make sure to preserve files that i have made changes too and also run the ajax chat sql script from the sql folder.
My concerns are, i have a client base built already and i have made many changes, so i dont want to loose this.
How would i preserve them? If i drop and drag the folder will it warn me and give a option not to overwrite the files as it loads?
How do i run the ajaxchat script in my sql folder?
i'm trying to do something weird. I have two sites, one that allows me to handle some information and administrate it (site 1). I have another site that is for querying information only (site 2). I need to upload files in site 1, but i need to save it in site 2, to leave it available to download in site 2.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to find a way for users to upload image to my site ,
In my db table I have a column name Image1 type image [allow null]
And I would like the user (among other fileds to fill, to upload image )
I have an aspx website and I'd like to upload a file to it. The file is being processed later, so I need to support some extra information with it.
This is the website I have to far:
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Upload.aspx.cs" Inherits="ABC.Web.Upload" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
<title></title>
</head>
<body>
<form id="Form1" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" runat="server">
<input type="file" id="File1" name="File1" runat="server" />
<input type="text" id="FileId" name="FileId" runat="server" />
<input type="submit" id="Submit1" value="Upload" runat="server" />
</form>
</body>
</html>
This (and the code behind) works very well when using a browser and clicking through the form. But I want to upload the file using the WebClient from C# code. I don't have to use the WebClient. I can also modify the upload.aspx to suit me, there is no requirement that it works from a browser, but this is the only example I've got working.
Looking at fiddler (I just started using it, so I probably have missed it) I could not figure out how I would create such a request from code.
At the moment when using the WebClient I am specifying the address and the local filename. I have a breakpoint in the code behind in my website but the File1 and FileId are not set (as expected).
How do I have to modify the website and how do I have to use the WebClient to get the upload working?
EDIT: Just found out about the Request.Files, that will give me the file, but how about the other fields?
I am using ASP.NET 2008 web developer and i dont know how to share youtube videos in my pages.
I want to play youtube videos in my site without upload
I'm uploading xls file onto my server using ASP.NET VB. Should I take some precautions so that not one would upload some hacking script to hack my site using this upload?

View 1 RepliesI have a button in a repeater control. It saves the data on the screen, so ideally I'd like to do this and not have the screen refresh, as there is no new data to be shown. When I am debugging using localhost, the page just sits there, the data gets saved all is well.However, when I upload the very same page and code to my host, clicking the button causes a full refresh, which as there is a lot of data, means a long wait each time.

i developed a web page using ajax, and asp.net in 3.5.

is there any way to upload 3.5 web page in 2.0?
I am using WIX 3.6 for VS2010 to create our MSI's for our web application setups. This is all working fine and all in terms of deployment and uninstall.
I recently allowed the user to specify the virtual directory and application pool names to support side by side installs. This is all fine as I have created my own setup bootstrapper.
The issue is with uninstallation.
If the user does not specify the names and leaves the default values, it will install successfully.
The minute the user updates the names from the defaults, the install process will not remove the app-pool and virtual directory. This is what I have found consistently with my testing.
i am facing very unique problem.i have one site ,i am hosting it on two different server.but on one server look and feel of html,css proper while on another server html ,css ,menu,javascript not working properly...html and css get distorted..i am not able to find wht reason behind this..

View 2 RepliesI have a folder "uploads" at my FTP and I have to upload all the files in that folder using ASP Fileupload control, but I have to use FTP Credentials to upload the files. Earlier I use to do the same action by giving Write Permission to Internet Guest Account (IUSR) on that folder, but now scenario is different. Also what is the different between both methods? Is there any security concern in File Upload using FTP Credentials?
