I am doing R & D in Generate multiple Pdf files in SSRS. Yes I have done this but i have some drawback in them. If user can trigger this process and they can continue their work in application. Acutally I need to do it when generating Pdf process is compleleted, I have to intimate to the user to this process is getting completed. I heard, there is a way in IIS Server to get the Message automatically from the IIS server. When my Process is getting finiched , i need to show the message to user.even though user who can stay in some other page.

the account we use to copy/publish websites to our web server is not allowing us access to push websites. I've added this account to the permissions in the links listed in the below link, but i don't have success when trying to push remotely. I have hosted a site on server. Problem is, content of a particular .aspx file (index.aspx/content.aspx) is periodically replaced by clinet side HTML code(the source we see in browser by right click>view source). What can be reason behind this?

I would like to develop a server push supported application. Can anybody suggest which technology i should concentrate it reach this. I have already written a WCF Service using WS Binding. do i have to use JQuery? Commet? I have tried silverlight but it does support only polling. I am not looking for polling mechanism.

I have two webservers in a cluster serving a web application. Using MS Web Deploy to push a new version of the application to one server, and then again to synchronize the files to the other server in the cluster. It seems to be the most ordinary thing to do. But wouldn't there be a problemm, when one server is deployed with the new version, and the other is not yet finished. Will it not cause troubles, when a page loaded with the new version makes a webservice request and the balancer sends the request to the server with the old version?
What's the best way to avoid this? I thought about scripting a drainstop of the server, that we deploy to, and make sure only one server is running at a time. But I can't find anyone else, who seems to have written about such a solution. And guess that it doesn't scale very well too. Another solution could be to shut down all servers when updating. But that doesn't seems very clever.

I have a web application, where users will see notifications for their new messages, I want to push the notifications to the users who are already logged in.I have seen that I can do it using Server Push of PokeIn, I have tried and understood the simple application using it, but I am not getting the ClientID thing.The ClientId it saves in "OnClientConnected" is a simple integer, so how does it recognizes clients and calls functions on them ?

My application is working fine in local environment but not working after push code in live. My locale environment and hosting environment both are having same configuration. Same app working fine 2 month before but in different domain but same hosting server.
how to check the both config / any possible to run debug mode in hosting server please let me know. below code used in all page for checking user session status but when I click on any link page redirect to login.aspx I think session got timeout. I don't know why session got time frequently, but this issue not happening in local environment (desktop).

we have a vb.net application with send and receive mailing also. Now we have added a session timer of 30 min but the users are complaining that they are facing a problem when they write a long text message or while composing they get busy in something else and when they return back to continue composing message , they are redirected to a session expiry page, and their long text message is gone forever. So I am new to this and I was thinking like , when the user is in compose message the text should be automatically saved to drafts like hotmail.

I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and installed IIS, including support for ASP. I am running everything locally on my computer. A simple statement like <% response.write time() %> works fine, so ASP is working, However, when I try to run a page that accesses a database (at least, I am assuming that that is the root of the problem) then I get the unhelpful error message:An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator.If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error. I have no idea where to begin. the database is in the same location as it was on with my old computer, and I have adjusted permissions to the database so that everyone except Creator Owner has full permissions - for whatever reason I am not able to change Creator Owner permissions.

The Silverlight app has a link to a different group of reports. This *was* working fine but no more. In the following code you can see the 'Reports' part that it calls another page [URL] namely right here: WHat is happening is when the reports page is called, it goes into 'Session timeout ' right away.

I have connection strings info in web.config. I thought that if this were the case, machine.config would be ignored. But, everytime the connection string in web.con is different than the connection string in maching.con, I get error. The connection name 'aspnetdbConnectionString' was not found in the applications configuration or the connection string is empty. Is there something I can check or change to get the app to ignore the machine.config when web.config connection string is listed.

this has probably been discussed before but perhaps not enough as I haven't been able to find any literature on this method (parts are documented, but not as a whole I guess)Anyways, you start with a web service, and you call that web service client side with ASP.NET AJAX javascript. Once you get a reply, you can call a artial postback using __doPostback(a, b) and "a" is the control id of an updatepanel in your page and "b" can be an indicator for which web service you are using or your resulting data or both. Lastly you add a check for "a" and "b" like this:

Now you can execute any code behind function when you receive a response, and because it's async anything short of leaving the page and it will still postback when you get a response.For example, I have a site which display data from a database in a gridview and uses a client side web service to get the time last updated for a database, call the web service client side every second, then, when an update is detected, call a partial postback, alert the user, and update the gridview.Though this really is a hack, so I'm not sure if there any problems with this approach, if there's a simpler and better way to go about it (I'm all ears).

the application which i created is a web application which doesnt need much of a database,so i am just using the sql express free version which allows 4 gb of data,to avoid disasters iw ould like to delete records which are very old like,1 month,2 months old etc,how can i do this periodically should i do this on client side or the server side...
what id there are 100000 records and if we put this in page load or some method,it could take some time to delete,which i dont want..... how i can automate this process at the server side only

I have build an web application in Visual studio 2005. Its working fine in the loal. But When I upload the same web application in the remote server, It produces the error,Parser Error Message: Could not load type '_Default'.
