I have developed one web application, which I am trying to deploy on the server, where .net framework has been installed but visual studio has not been installed. I want to run the command aspnet_regiis -i on the server.
But as visual studio has not installed, I am not able to get default command prompt.
I was configured an application in IIS,while running it shows login page successfully and i entered the credentials then it was redirected to HomePage with an error of(HomePage not displayed but the URL is rediredcted to HomePage)
Error message 401.2.: Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration.Already i was searched in google and tried to resolve the problem but no use.
Does anyone know of any requirements to get the Ajax Control Toolkit (Calendar Extension in particular) working in this OS? I have it working on my local macjine (VS 2010 Development Server) but it doesn't work when published to my Virtual Server running Windows Server 2008 R2. No errors are reported, just nothing happens when I give focus to the Calendar textbox (no Calendar appears).Anyone know of any configutrations that need to be made in Windows Server 2008 R2?Is there a 32-bit/64-bit issue with the Toolkit?
I'm a total noob to anything ASP. I'm a web designer for my county's sheriff dept. and I don't create dynamic pages because out content doesn't require it. In fact, I'm still quite new to web design. The programmer who created the apps has zero experience with IIS7. These apps are designed to run on our organization's intranet server. I'm not having any luck with getting these sites to run properly. I have the sites created with the proper directories. When I click in the right-hand column of IIS Manager to browse to the sites, they launches but don't function as they should. They load up like static pages. I installed .Net 1.1 hoping that would make a difference but it had no effect.
I am wondering the best way to change my connection string based upon which server I am accessing.
Essentially, all of the development is done on our local machines - once we think it is working, we upload it to our development server. In these 2 instances, I want my application to go off of our "dev" connection string for the SQL database in the web.config.
However, once it is published to our production server (for an internal application), I would like the connection string to point to our live db.
I am using the N-Tier model by Imar Spaanjaars - and have it setup like he suggests - In my DAL I have a class called AppConfiguration -
In this class I have a public readonly property ConnectionString() which returns the connection string in the web.config.
This is in an individual class library. What I would like to do is something similar to:
If server is localhost OR devstring return devString else return productionstring
I am using vs 2008 express. My OS is windows 7 home premium.I created a asp.net web site and it worked well. However, if I copy the web site to a remote free host space http://www.somee.com, I got an error.
I created a virtual directory on the new server and I pointed to the location on the server where the webpages are located.
I keep getting this error:Compiler Error Message: CS1705: Assembly 'ClassLib, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=dd83483ddbd7ed99' uses 'Oracle.DataAccess, Version=10.1.0.400, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342' which has a higher version than referenced assembly 'Oracle.DataAccess, Version=1.111.6.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342'
ClassLib is a dll that is referenced within my site that has functions that were created within it.Within ClassLib there is a reference to the old oracle version. My new server has version 11. Will I have to install version 11 and reference that version within ClassLib and then recompile and add the new dll to my bin directory?
I have data in database and that database is in the ip address .this ip address includes the data when i run the application it will give me all records but after the publish it will show me less data.
I am trying to run an aspx file on my server windows 2003 with IIS 6.0. I get the following error. Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
[Code]....
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
This code is working fine in my local system but when i upload it on server then it gives this error. From the last 1 year it was working fine but from last few days it gives me above said error, please suggest me is there any authentication required to send mail from server (my hosting plan is with 1and1.com)
, I've researched this quite a bit and I'm just not seeing the problem. The app runs beautifully when living on my pc - the app on my pc connects successfully to the SQL Server 2008 Express Database (which sits on a server - not my pc). However, as soon as I publish this application to the server that the SQL Server 2008 Express Database sits on, I get this error when I try to run the application:
ERROR [42S02][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'user'
It's behaving as if it either doesn't know where the table is when the app tries to run on the same server as the database or maybe the app doesn't have permission to hit the database once the app is on the same server as the database. I have connections on my pc and the server defined for this database, I verified that I set up each connection the same. I've also tried connecting using [dbo].[user] and this doesn't remedy the situation either. my connection string is in my web.config and it looks like this:
I am getting this error on a website. does that mean the server is not competible with asp.net 3.5
Configuration Error Description:An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.
I hope, the post is posted where it should be posted.I want to host my website on my IIS webserver so that I can access it on Internet. Could someone provide links for it.

I just deployed my database to my remote server. I am trying to create a connectionstring to the remote server and it won't work. I am using godaddy. I kept having this message: could not establish a connection to the database. Here is the connectionstring for the local server:
i am facing very unique problem.i have one site ,i am hosting it on two different server.but on one server look and feel of html, css proper while on another server html ,css ,menu, javascript not working properly...html and css get distorted..i am not able to find wht reason behind this..
I just uploaded all my aspx files including web config file to the server. I received a notice saying the web.config file has been removed from the server due to its conflict with their server. The aspx files are working fine without the web config file. But the email form from my site is not working. I have a few questions regarding this.
1. Is web.config necessary to run aspx pages?
2. What are the possible reason web.config files is conflicting with the server?
3. As mentioned, the email form is not working. I am predicting the reason is it is unable to access the mail setting in web.config file.
I've created a site using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition (ASP.NET 3.5) but the server hosting it runs ASP.NET 2.0. I'm getting some odd errors running the live site. Is there anything I need to be aware of? Do I need to make any changes to the web.config file (that was generated in VWD) or anything else?
