I have a website that I am trying to publish and it doesn't seem to be working properly. I get an error saying that a master page does not exist. However, the master page is there, but when I publish the code, it does not get published. Is there some sort of cache or something I am missing here?

When I publish my website it includes all of the directories except one titled PDFs. Can someone tell me why this happens and how to fix it?

I'm quite new to ASP and I can't seem to figure out how to get the application/website to work properly on my webserver. The first thing I had done was to build the solution, shortly followed by 'build website' and at last, to 'publish website'. It saved the files to C: -> Documents -> MS VS -> Projects -> My website.
There, the following files are found:
Account [folder]; App_Data [folder]; Scripts [folder]; Styles [folder]; bin [folder]; Web.config; Site.master; Default.aspx; About.aspx and PrecompiledApp.config.
I then uploaded these via FTP to my webserver and accessed the appropriate URL. Seems nothing showed up in root beside "Index of/". When I tried to access /Default.aspx, nothing but text appeared (which would be the code displayed in Default.aspx).
I've also read some tutorials regarding this matter where they instructed me to upload directly from Visual Studio to the FTP server, but I'm kind of afraid that it'll delete everything in said folder, as I don't know what the structure of said direct upload should be like.
How can I tell Visual Studio to copy .svg files when I publish from the "Publish Web" dialog (right-click on Project and select "Publish...")? It's copying all other image files to the target directory, but is not copying .svg files.

this statement wont return anyfin where there is products with titles startin with 3.5 or ending with caddy or containing 3.5 caddy but just not together for example there is this title "3.5" IDE to USB 2.0 Aluminum External Silver HDD Enclosure Caddy" and that search of 3.5 caddy wont pick this item up as 3.5 is at the start and caddy is at the end.
I'm new here and I need some help to use the AutoComplete Extender. I just have a default.aspx with a textbox extended with an AutoComplete. My Web Service calls a SQL Data Base thru Linq and return some account names.When I execute the WEB SERVICE and manually insert the parameters, it works! But when I execute the default.aspx, nothing happens. I really apreciate your help! See the CODES listed below:

It is a bit long ! I am having problem on last two where declaration. here ;

those MinReq and MaxCap columns are int32 columns. But when I run the page it doesnt work properly ! It display the valuse it shouldn't be ! weird thing is, when I display this 'deger', I get the value properly. with this;

each one uses an unordered list to display in the begining of the page loading the list is displayed with all its items under each other in an ugly way then it returns to the normal one line style.

The thing is that, the first if statement works fine and the 'javascript' shows an alert and close the window, but in the second if statement the javascript shows the message but doesn't close the window.

I am drawing a grid using HTML and each tr element has it's own id. I want to be able to remove a tr on a button click, but not have to redraw the whole grid to show that the row has been deleted. I can do this using .hide(), but the problem is that I need to call a function to stripe my rows after, and since the row is still considered there, the striping doesn't work properly.

I thought that the "PageIndexChanged" is fired after the index has changed?
In other words when I'm at page 1 with a labelnumber 11 and I click on page 2, where the labelnumber =
22 and I do
the event "PageIndexChanged" I got the number "22" if I do the following code:

Did I understand the "PageIndexChanged" event wrong or is this a bug?
Because this is not working does somebody know how to solve this problem?
The Message box with ASP.NET(eg:Msgbox ("Updation Successful")) is working properly at the time of development.But after publishing the project in the local IIS the message box is invisible. The message box is not popping out when I run the web application in the local IIS.

I have it stored properly but when I try to call it and display it on a page using a literal or label control, it does not show the content properly. It will show the text but not any HTML content (i.e. checkboxes, images, hyperlinks, etc)
View 9 RepliesThe server is 64 bit, but the app pool is configured to run as 32 bit. Do i need to publish 64 bit dlls? The rapid fail recovery sometimes recycles the app pool and someone suggested that it may be because i am not using 64 bit dlls. Doesn't sound likely... but you never know.I switched the publish settings to release and any cpu. But it spits out in the bin folder /bin/x64 as well. Do i copy over everything in the bin folder or do i just copy over the x64 dlls?? kinda confused on that. And why are pdb files being spit out with the dlls as well? I thought this was a debug thing only.

I want to (in my edmx design) be able to inherit from EntityBase and have each of those 6 columns be added to the physical database table representing the object that inherits it. So, for example, I have a class called Test that would look like this:

That Test class should have its physical data store mapping based on the other "stuff" plus the properties inherited from EntityBase. Thus, the database table for Test needs to also include those 6 columns from EntityBase. However, I'd like for it to be set up in a way so that they get mapped such that in the edmx design (what is that designer called anyway) when an entity inherits from the EntityBase, I don't need to do any further work to propogate those 6 columns over to the underlying database table. Am I making sense in how I am explaining this? how to accomplish this?
On a side note (and this can be answered separately or not at all) assuming this mapping is in place, NHibernate has a concept called an Interceptor. I'd like to add an "interceptor" to the delete function of any entity that is inherited from EntityBase so that it updates DeletedAt with the current time and DeletedBy with the current user and the same would be true for any updates with UpdatedAt/By. With NHibernate, you can test inside of this interceptor whether or not the object is of a certain type (e.g. object is EntityBase). Any ideas on how to get this with EF 4.0?
I have implemented a collapsible panel which works properly. It collapse and it extends the content panel when the link corresponding to the information panel is clicked. Within the content panel I have an HTML table control containing several rows and columns. Within one of these columns I have added a container (a <DIV> tag) holding a Google map. Here is the issue:
The map does not properly show up within the container when the content panel is extended. It appears to be shifted to the left, not centered as it should be. Therefore, any attempt to place a point mark on the map (centering the map over that point mark) is unsuccessful since the map doesn't show properly in the container so the point mark is not visible. Even if I drag the map with the mouse within the container, it always reposition at a bad location. If I comment out the extender, leaving the panel as is, the maps shows properly within its container. It is the collapsible panel extender which makes the layout to be incorrect.

Now, in the asp.net MVC application, I am able to add the database ServerExplorer->Connect To Database-> Data Source= MS SQL SERVER->Server name->OpAmp-pc. Now, I was unable to add the database by copying the file in app data folder.
My doubt it how can I share the website+ database with my fellow batchmate or put the whole website online.

i have dsigned a website in my desktop in my company. i have installed sql server 2005 and visual studio 2008.everything is working fine if i host my website from my workstation.but my desktop is not accessible to all the departments in my company so i have to host my website on one of the company's sql servers.let us assume that "isaserver" is my company's sql server where i want to host my website.now, what i did that i created a virtual directory in isaserver's wwwroot folder and pasted my c:/inetpub/wwwroot contents into that.but when i tried to access the website, its not working.

Developing a website in ASP.net. On the development site all is working fine.We decide to publish the site using visual studio 2008's publish mechanism.The publish goes flawless.When we go to the live site, it hangs anywhere from 2 minutes to 30 minutes before it starts serving pages.All other sites on the same server seem to work fine.If we reboot the server it starts serving pages right away.It is not a programming issue, as once the site kicks in all seems to work fine.VS 2008, .NET 3.5, On both IIS 6.0 and 7.5
View 3 RepliesI love the idea of precompiling my web site. In fact, 've never understood why MS didn't consider this important all along. So I tried the new Publish Web Site command in VS2010 and it seems to work well. That is, until I need to make a change to my site!In order to implement the tiniest of changes to my site, it looks like I must run the Publish Web Site command again, which takes forever because it overwrites and copies absolutely everything on my site, including the upload directory where users' images get stored, which is a problem!If I attempt to instead use Copy Web Site, then I get error about how I can't have an App_Code folder, or something along those lines, in a precompiled app.So what am I supposed to do? Is the only way I can have a precompiled site by requiring a complete reset of all content if I need to implement the tiniest of changes?

I tried creating a new website and I have no problems at all. However, I have this project in localhost which I want to publish and it just gives a message "Failed to Publish". Also I am trying to configure my webconfig to access my sql server 2005 database not by windows authentication but by sql server authentication, which I am unsure of how to do it.
