The Message box with ASP.NET(eg:Msgbox ("Updation Successful")) is working properly at the time of development. But after publishing the project in the local IIS the message box is invisible. The message box is not popping out when I run the web application in the local IIS.
I have a website that I am trying to publish and it doesn't seem to be working properly. I get an error saying that a master page does not exist. However, the master page is there, but when I publish the code, it does not get published. Is there some sort of cache or something I am missing here?
I would like to create a script that does some actions, then publish the site to the production, and then runs another script. Is that possible in VS2010?
I just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.
I am not very experienced with VB.NET but I have to build an application using it in order to communicate with some software. Basically, I need to be able to call this exe and have it run to perform some tasks, then close itself down.I have the tasks running on page load but since I don't want the application to actually open, I use a Me.Close() to close it once it's finished the tasks. So, the whole thing works great (the tasks are even performed) except the Me.Close() causes a message to come up saying the application "has stopped working." Is it because I'm trying to close it while it's loading itself?Any suggestions on how to achieve this in a different way?I am forced to perform these tasks in VB, so please don't just say I should not be using VB.NET for this. I know I shouldn't be but I have to.

By default in login template, in case user key in the wrong user name or password, the literal message will show the default error message, "Your login attempt unsuccessful..."What i trying to do is, I have a function in my system to disapprove a member, after the member is disapproved, he/she will not allow to login anymore. When the user trying to login, the default literal msg will show out. Is there any way i can do it more specifically like if the user enter the wrong password only, the literal msg show: "Wrong password entered" insteaed of the default msg?
Same goes to the change password control, for any error msg it just show the long msg but does not tell user whats wrong with the entered valueim trying to do something like if the user enter the wrong password, the literal msg show the one i wan to show.

I have an ASP.Net 3.5 web project. There are lots of images on images folder. apprx. 1.5GB size. Everytime I want to publish the project, it takes 35minutes. I dont want to publish folders. I only want to publish pages. Im using shared web hosting. How can I solve this problem?
Believe it or not, but I did not had to worry about the hosting of a asp.net site for years.
Figured I'll get some hosting for fiddling with things (for instance, mvc now).
However I found this "Publish" function in VS (vs '08 team ed) a pain. Publish to an FTP site seems to take ages. So I just publish to a local folder and FTP that up (filezilla). But d@mn.....the dll's used, javascript files (included by default in an asp.net mvc project), etc keep failing...driving me bonkers.
How you guys "Publish"? I got a fairly good host now (thanks M) so the problem should be on my side. Internet connection speed is not too bad here.
How to build and publish the ASP.NET web site(Microsoft Vishul Studio->File->New->Website) using Cruise Control.net. Actually, ASP.NET Web site doesnot contain .csproj and .sln file.
