View 1 Replies i have a gridview bound to sql datasource with template fields binding the columns. I have set the Header Style to a css class. I have 3 columns not bound to data as Add, Edit and Delete. When I set the text color to white for the header only the non bound columns go white. The bound columns are BLUE like hyperlink. Any one know a way round this. (If I set the style in the gridview the all columns are white. Want to set in external css file).
[Code]....
Is it possible to hava a Colums in grid like
Binding Grid as:

In GridView I am able to export data in pdf by fallowing code in the button click
Response.ContentType = "application/pdf";
Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment;filename=GridViewExport.pdf");
Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache);
StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
HtmlTextWriter hw = new HtmlTextWriter(sw);
GridView Gridview1=new GridView ()
GridView1.DataSource=FillGrid(); //Custome function Returns data table
GridView1.DataBind();
GridView1.AllowPaging = false;
GridView1.RenderControl(hw);
StringReader sr = new StringReader(sw.ToString());
Document pdfDoc = new Document(PageSize.A4, 10f,10f,10f,0f);
HTMLWorker htmlparser = new HTMLWorker(pdfDoc);
PdfWriter.GetInstance(pdfDoc, Response.OutputStream);
pdfDoc.Open();

I am implementing an attendance application where I want to show the report as absent or present for the last few days for a subject. 1 means present and 0 means absent. How to bind these dates as header during runtime these dates i am getting from database.

I have a gridview control which gets data from database. One of the column is a checkbox and based on the value of the checkbox, I need to display 2 more columns. Currently I am having 2 issues:
1. I am able to achieve this when OnDataBound event gets triggered. Basically I am checking the row state and type and if it is in Normal mode I check the status of the checkbox and based on the status I am setting the style on the columns I want to hide (columns contain checkboxes). But for some reason, I am not able to hide the header. The GridView shows the header but the text boxes which are in the columns are hidden.
2. During Edit mode, I have attached a javascript to the checkbox and when the status of the checkbox changes, it hide/unhides the columns, again header cannot be made hidden. Also, if I use the Visible property of the header, I can make the header invisibly (only using the code behind) but when javascript is invoked on the checkbox during edit mode, it cannot find the controls as they are not visible and hence does not do anything. Since TemplateField does not support style property I can't even set the style["display"].
How can I create below type of gridview with merge merged header columns? If anybody have example share with me.
View 2 Replieshow to export only a subset of columns from Gridview to excel? i'm sure there are examples online, but have not been able to get the right kinda examples.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to find a code to delete multiple columns because when you delete a column the next column takes his place so for example:
If you delete column 6 then column 7 becomes column six.
I tried the following code with an for loop & a while loop:
Dim field As DataControlField = gv.Columns(i)
gv.Columns.Remove(field)
&
gv.columns.removeat(i)
But same case that the column 7 becomes column 6
The variable removeColumns is an array with the column number that need to be deleted.
If wanted I can also provide the Header Names

Stack-Overflow :3 I've got a kind of hard-case question.
So I'll try clearly explain my idea with my poor english :/ need select to DataTable SOME values from ???_**GetDisplayData **procedure for each day of previos month (GROUP IT) where group rules for different columns is different
I need to select some values in stored procedure from other stored procedure like this :
SELECT X FROM Y_Procedure(@ProcedureParameters)Also I need to select from dynamic SQL Procedure like
Y_Procedure=@Y+'_Procedure'
SELECT X FROM Y_Procedure(@ProcedureParameters)
Also I need to load it to DataTable :-/INSERT INTO @Report (CellHorizontal, CellVertical, CellValue) --to TABLE
SELECT Date,X2,X3 FROM Y_GetDisplayData(@Param)
SET NOCOUNT OFF;
SELECT *
FROM @Report
GetDisplayData works as select with parameters and that doesn't returns SQL DataTable
And there is no way to recode GetDisplayData's procedures, it's just constant procedures for me.Finally I need to Group nodes from this table
INSERT INTO @Report (CellHorizontal, CellVertical, CellValue)
SELECT T1.Date,
IF ((Select grouptype...)=1) T1.X2 + T2.X2
ELSE IF ((Select grouptype...)=2) AVG(T1.X2,T2.X2),
IF ((Select grouptype...)=1) T1.X3 + T2.X3
ELSE IF ((Select grouptype...)=2) AVG(T1.X3,T2.X3),
(SELECT T2.Date,X2,X3 FROM Y_GetDisplayData(@Param) T2
WHERE T2.Date>T1.Date AND T2.Date>=T1.Date)
FROM Y_GetDisplayData(@Param) T1
GROUP BY EVERY DAY ???--and here is epic fail
I can make all stuff on asp server :And C# allows me to use something like SelectCommand = IzmProc + "_GetDisplayData"; And then I will work (select special data) with DataTables on ASP.NET Server but it's better to make all on SQL ... But looking like it's just unrealizable on SQL >_<
I gonna think about C# realization,but my code is very weird , got errors and doesn't works >_<
public static DataTable GetReport(string Param)
{
System.Configuration.ConnectionStringSettings connSetting = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["FlowServerConnectionString"]; [code].....

Above Links Works For Only When Gridview Has All Boundfield Columns and Last Templatefield Column having Radiobutton.
 But not Works when All TemplateField Columns Having Textbox or Label in gridview likeÂ
<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false" BorderColor="Black"
DataKeyNames="ID,Type" BorderStyle="Solid" BorderWidth="1px" CellPadding="4"
CssClass="Gridview" OnRowDataBound="GridView1_RowDataBound">
<Columns>

I'd like to gruop data from a table, for example, by DATE or CATEGORY, something like this:

or group by CATEGORY, like this:

I am using textsharp dll to export to pdf.Its exporting the gridview without the header row.
View 1 RepliesI have a gridview on my page and I set columns to display none like this:
e.Row.Cells[value].Style.Add("Display", "none"); (Setting visible to false caused other issues, so I want to do it like this)
I then export the gridview using the code below:
Response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel";
StringWriter sWriter = new StringWriter();
HtmlTextWriter htwWriter = new HtmlTextWriter(sWriter);
gridReport.RenderControl(htwWriter);
Response.Write(sWriter.ToString());
Response.End();
The hidden columns are still showing up in the export. How can I exclude the non-visible columns?

View 1 RepliesI need to freeze my gridview header and the first two columns. I found a great jquery plugin called tinytbl which does the job but it messes up the inline javascript on my page which causes a few issues.
Any better way to freeze columns? I see alot of examples on the net using css but they use expression which has been deprecated.
I know how to export GridView to excel but it exports all Columns
I want to export only some columns and not all of ASP.Net GridView to excel.
i want to export my gridview in excell with a header ..supose am making a report in gridview there is heading of report

how to display a header of gridvew as a 3D view color Header?
View 14 RepliesScenario:
I have a Gridview where I want to handle the Sorting in a custom control that I've added to the header.
I've added this control to my GridView's Header via OnRowCreate event handling. I want the Sort Expressions to persist session to session (via Webparts Personalization)
Here is what I have for adding the custom header control to the GridView Header
[Code]....
This works out well for adding the control, but I can't get anything to persist because these controls are creating initially via postback (per the event) and re-created on all subsequent postbacks. I can't add an If(!IsPostback) because the controls are initially created on the gridview's postback (well at least thats how it's acting when I put it in there) If I were to add this control via the ASP page, not via the Codebehind, I would be able to persist the control. If I try to treat it as though everything is setup correctly, and assign my custom control's controls to [Personalizable], I get a runtime error telling me that I can only have webpartzones in or before Page_init (I'm guessing this is due to when/where the
gridview hits the OnRowCreate event). If there is some fundimental logic I'm missing, or best practices that I'm moving away from,
is there anyway i can add in the gridview in header column name a button instead of label ?
column name 1 column name 2 column name 3 button
i am using checkbox column in item template for the button ,i wish after selecting checkbox for some row to click on the button on the header !!
I am using the following code to change the header based on the session variable

How to pass gridview particular column values to another page's table header...
View 1 RepliesI want to be able to add a parent column header to each pair of columns shown below.
So I want it to look like this:
Grand Total
OnHand Available
Anyone know a way to do this? I know you can group columns together but I'm wondering how I can apply a label to those groups.
Alternatively, if theres no way to do that, I could just override the "Grand Total" display text. The only problem is I can't get it aligned above its correct columns.
I have a gridview containing 10 columns. Three of them are set to visible="false' by default. When I click on 'Export to excel' Button, I can hide those invisible columns.
[Code]....
There must be more efficient way than this. How can I find the invisible columns and store their information in array and then only do a loop once?
