I've created an application using ASP.NET with Access DB, now I found somee.com who support only SQL Server DBs, so Now I must convert my Access DB to SQL Server DB.
Is there any tool who can do the trick ?
This is some code I'm using in my web application :
Public Shared Function conecter() As OleDbConnection
Dim MyConnexion As OleDbConnection = New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data source=" & System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory & "/Learning.mdb")
MyConnexion.Open()
Return MyConnexion
End Function
Public Shared Function lecture(ByVal requete As String) As OleDbDataReader
Dim Mycommand As OleDbCommand = conecter().CreateCommand()
Mycommand.CommandText = requete
Dim myReader As OleDbDataReader = Mycommand.ExecuteReader()
Return myReader
End Function
In this case, If I convert my database I must change the OleDbConnexion and other things or I can just leave them like that ?
For a while I've used shopping cart software in classic ASP that could use Access database or MS SQL Server.
I am now using a asp.net shopping cart application by the same company
[URL]
However this program only supports MS SQL Server and not Access.
Would it be possible to export the SQL Server as an Access database (I've moved Access databases to MS SQL, so why not the other way)? Is there a way to support stored procedures in Access, and if not, any workarounds in ASP.net?
i desgin web site with sqlexpress 2008 now i want to convert it to sql standard enterprise i can or not? if it posible how i can convert my database from sqlexpress limit to sql server standard unlimit

I have SQL Server 2008 R2 Express and Visual Web Developer 2010 Express installed on my PC.I want users to login to my site and add listings that must be linked to their username. ASP.NET generates the ASPNETDB.mdb file when using login / membership function.How do I access this database from SQL server 2008 R2 Express ?
How do I link this database to my own SQL express database?
i granted ASP.NET account the sql server database access but ASP.NET seems not able to coonect to the database. I normally do this from code in windows XP, but its not working on my windows seven. i guess it should be something close to NT AUTHORITY in place of the MACHINE/ASPNET account which i have tried anyway but still not working.
If I have the appropriate permission, is their a way to access a sql server database on two different servers?
For example if I have a Table A on server 1 and Table B on a different server. How would I join the two tables together, if they each have a column named "PonyId"
Is there anything missing in IIS 6.0 that prevents me from (Insert into table) using MS-Access?
Explain: The application works fine under Visual Studio 2008 IDE the insert into table works fine with no error, Also I tested with hosting provider and works fine with no problem. but now I have published the same exact app in a dedicated server windows 2003 with IIS 6.0 .NET framework 2.0 with latest service pack I gave IIS_WPG write/modify access to the folder where MS-Access database is located and database but at the time of insert an error pop-up. I need to install in the Server or settings in the IIS to recognize my MS-Access db is it some office runtime that I am missing. (BTW I am using OLEDB connection string in my C# )
Using System.Data.OleDb;
I can retrieve data off of it with no problem but when I try to insert is when it fails I thought the problem was Access Rights but I do not think is the case.
In C# I need to connect to a database. How do I find out the username and password to use for that database? I know that sometimes the "sa" username can be used. I don't know how to find the password though. I am working on a contract and no DBA, and the developer left for a different job.
We are building MVC application and using LDAP for user authentication (form based). We are able to authenticate user using LDAP. But after user authentication though login page it goes to a data page and try to access SQL server database and get following error message: Cannot open database "HRDataBase" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'Anonymous'
Database is having permissions with which user logged in but MVC application is not using the loggedin user identity to connect to the database. I have allowed Login page for anonymous access. but all the other pages are not allowed to have anonymous access. But application is not picking up the login user id. we are using .NET4 on IIS6.0 and windows 2003 with SQL server 2008. In web.config file i am having <identity impersonate="true"> defined.
I have a issue where I am trying to pull some records from an Access 2007 DB that has linked tables from a SQL 2005 Server. When I go to do this the browser IE8 just sits there and does nothing. THe little progress bar at the bottom moves about half way then that is it. It will sit there and show no errors or do anything. I have experience with connecting and manipulating Access and SQL server DB's but not through Access with linked tables from SQL Server. Here is test code below:
[Code]....
This does not produce an error or anything. The browser just sits there and sits there. Is there something I am missing?
I'm trying to access an SQL Server Express database out of an ASP.NET HTTP request handler. The handler is run under ASPNET account and uses "integrated security" in the SQL connection string and so I get an error message saying that login for ASPNET account failed and so I can't access the database. This seems to be a very common problem and most answers say "grant access to you database to user ASPNET".
I only have Visual Studio 2008 and I can't find how to change access permisssions for a database. Specifically I use Tools->Server Explorer and I can see all the tables in the database but can't find how to change access permissions. How do I change access permissions to my database using tools shipped within Visual Studio 2008?
I want to Access remote server( ie., want to access online server not local server) in my Application.. I change Settings in SQL surface Area Configuration---> Remote Connection ( checked the Local and Remote Connection ) Then while running the application it showing the following error.(I make off the firewall also) An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
I want a piece of code for asp.net 3.5 using visual basic. and i am using MS access database.
I have two three text boxes and 2 image upload controls and a submit button.

I have to display data (names) in a random order on the website. The data is stored in a MS Access database. The names must be displayed in a GridView and DataList in different places. I have created a query in MS Access "zorder: Rnd([MarinaAccommodation]![ID])" which works fine in MS Access giving me a different order each time.
The problem is that when I try run it on the website the order remains the same, it does not change each time the page is loaded.
I have a situation where I am accessing a database multiple times and I'm wondering if it is necessary.
I have a GridView with a template column with a hyperlink to "Get Results" and on the RowDataBound event I have it check the batch number against the database and see if results exist and then if they don't, hide the link.
So when viewing the page if there is 20 rows in the gridview it is effectively doing 20 queries.
I was wondering if it is a better idea to query the database once with all "batches" and load it into a datatable, then on the RowDataBound event query the datatable. The only issue I see with this is there is currently 40,000 batches and grows daily.
I am using ajax html editor to write a text. I can view it without having problem but I am incapeble of storing it in a Ms Access database. which type do I need to use for this? I tried memo and OleObject type and both didn't work. I used the blow code for that.
I have a data type mismatch while inserting into a number field in an access database using a parameterized query.I think this should be pretty simple but I am still learning a lot.

I have some commented out as I am working one field at a time. The working fields are textboxes and the non working ones are dropdown lists. But I think it may be the field that the list is drawing from? Not sure.
