Call JavaScript function on GridView Row click using jQuery in ASP.Net works great!, but if I want to have a first column with an image button so the user can click only there to select a row it always produce a postback when using a button field, how can I avoid that postback while having an image button for the selection click in the gridview?

I have a couple of fields on a form that will be populated with default values. I would like to put a button that will allow me to reset those fields to their default values if they have been modified. However I would like to avoid the postback so that I don't have data being sent to the database. Is it possible to add a javascript hook such that when that button is pressed I can pull the default values and populate those fields in javascript?

Now my question is, if the user selected an item in dropdownList in the firstrow and the user click the AddGridRowBtn Again which will generate the 2nd row, how would i maintain the selectedItem in the dropdownlist after postback?

I've got popup (using javascript) working in a kind of gridview. When you click a button on one grid, it displays a popup window containing another grid of information, based on the row clicked in the first grid.
This works well... I've enabled editing in the grid that is popped up. When you click edit though, the popup window disappears. If I click the display button in the first grid though to bring the popup window visible again it displays, and is now in edit mode.
Is there a way to make postbacks in the popup not close the popup?
I have problems with gridview that has command button in it. The command button (when clicked) should redirect to another web page, but instead of doing it only does postback on current page.

Iam using a radio button in a Gridview. I want to check whether it is checked or not. If it is checked i want to pass one value or if it is unchecked i want to pass another value. Ive got a list of records in a gridview (from an SQLDataSource) where a field value is set to True. I've also added a "reset" button in a template field at the start of the row in the Gridview.
What I would like to do is allow the user to click the reset button on a particular row and 'reset' the true value to 'false' (updating the source data).

I have a GridView with a couple of buttons (asp:Button) in it (last row). Both of them have a CommandName attribute on them and this is handled server side in a grid_RowCommand event handler. Now, this works fine. However, I need to add client side code (Javascript/jQuery) to disable the two buttons when someone clicks on or the other. This is to prevent the user from double-clicking and creating potential havoc.
The way I have done this is by adding OnClientClick on both buttons which calls a javascript function that uses jQuery to disable the two buttons. This works fine, it's just that the page doesn't post back and so the RowCommand event handler never fires.

Without listing any Triggers, I get a full postback when I visit a particular row within the GridView and click the 'Edit' button for that row.

...I get an async postback when I click the 'Edit' button for a particular GridView row. This is what I want. In fact, I also get an async postback if I then click the 'Cancel' button for that GridView row which appears after having clicked the 'Edit' button.
However, if I instead click the 'Update' button that appears after having clicked the 'Edit' button, I get a full postback. I have tried almost every GridView EventName
I can find to add to the <Triggers></Triggers> section to get a click of the 'Update' button to result in an async postback, but with no luck.

The button is generated using a Template Field and is a standard ASP:Button. If I click a button in an unmerged row everything works as expected. If I click a button in a merged row...the sender object on the command comes back as null and no matter what I try I can't seem to fix it or get a reference to the button.

I have 5 gridviews, all of of them have a Checkbox template field. I already did SUM of a specific column in the gridviews and displayed the Total in the gridview footers.
There is a submit button on the page as well.(this is not in a template column in the gridview)
what i do is select some rows in the gridviews by ticking the checkbox. Then I click on the submit button and the values change in the database and page refreshes with the new Total in the gridview footers. Any row that was ticked. the checkbox for that row in the gridview gets disabled. so cannot change the value again.
Now i want a way to show a popup with a SUM of those rows that are ticked recently and the SUM of already ticked and disabled rows before the values change for the ticked rows in the gridview when the submit button is clicked.
