I'm binding a gridview from a webservice with 30 columns and 10 rows, I need to print the same in a PORTRAIT, for that i decided to display columns as rows and
rows as columns like below:

I see from google that this is a common problem. I have a SQL server database that contains 26 rows of data. Two columns, the first is PK and an identity column (keys numbered 1 to 26) and the second column is a text field (nchar(10)) containing a letter of the alphabet (A..Z). The letters were inserted randomly to simulate sql being unsorted by default. I have a query that returns all of the data ordered by the letter column ascending. If I execute the query in sql server I get 26 rows orderd A..Z.
I have a gridview that is set up for paging (page size = 15) and sorting. When sorting is disabled, all data is correctly displayed on the gridview, 15 rows on the first page, 11 rows on the second page.
If I enable sorting, I get 15 rows on the first page and 11 rows on the second page, however on closer examination I find two letters missing and two letters duplicated on both pages. If I navigate to page two, then back to page 1 I find that the data is then shown correctly and the missing letters are back.
Has anyone struck this issue? I am thinking that the sort is not being initialized correctly, but am not sure where to look.
i use the grid view so edit & Delete the records. using

But due to more fields the gridview is out of the Master page.
So how can I manage the gridview columns especially at time of edit the records.

How to display the total number of records returned in a GridView in asp.net? I want to display it in a label or if possible next to the page index in GridView... And how to provide a select option in a GridView to select all records (It should select not only the record shown in one page in GridView but all records that were returned to the GridView) or one by one record that was returned? These things (for e.g., Number of selected rows) should also be displayed in the label which I mentioned before.

I created a gridview that is made up of 4 gridviews and using a stored procedure to populate it. I create columns at runtime because the number of columns changes all the time.To make the grids editable I am adding template fields at runtime as I create the columns, this is to ensure that a user is able to edit the cells and some foot values update. Reason why I have four grids is to freeze rows and columns like in excel using javascript. The problem is that performance is very bad especially in IE, the grids take a long time to load. I am not sure if this is caused by the data load or the creation of text boxes. see some of the code below for my _aspx page:

View 2 RepliesI'm working on setting up a Gridview that dynamically creates new "columns" after a set amount of rows. To do this, I bind a datasource to the Gridview and then add new cells and shift the other items into those cells. I seem to be having an error with the link buttons that I move around. All of the items get put in there correct location, but for some reason, when I click a link button that has been added to a new cell, the sender's text is the LinkButton in the original cell's text. Does anyone know why this would be happening? Is the gridview not meant to be manipulated after it has been data bound? This is the code that I use to update the gridview.
