Forms Data Controls :: Add Rows To Database In Gridview?
Jun 15, 2010
I'm developing an ASP webshop website (in VB). I've attached an sql database and put a gridview on the form which pulls up the product details from the database. I can turn on Edit and Delete in the gridview so it is easy to modify the products but how can I add new rows?
I would like to create those checked/selected rows in gridview to SQL server database with a button click. For example, an user checks 2 rows in the gridview, and clicks on the create button. I would want the selected row/s to be created to the database. How would I go about doing this?
I have 2 gridview with add/remove buttons between them. I want the user to select an item in one gridview and based on the button clicked I need to remove the row from one gridview and add it to the other. I can idenfity which row is selected but I don't know how to remove/add the rows.
I've a gridview with 6 coloums. First col is dropdown list and rest are text boxes.aspx page looks like this
[Code]....
I've a created a class and bounded to grid view in my Business LayerThe dropdown list was bounded to another table by using gvExpense_RowDataBound eventNo.of rows in gridview depends on no. of rows in expensetype table
i have read and used this script.Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.Net GridView Control with TextBoxes..it is very usful to me but i want to fetch data from sqll database and fill the newest row with it. the past row data hav to be remain same. becoz of the same name of textbox it happens. whenever i try to fetch data from database and fill textbox all rows get updated with the same data.
I have grid view in ASP.Net 3.5. I need to add multiple blank rows in a gridview and then have to save them in database. How can I do that in most simplest way?
I came across a situation where a user selects no of rows from dropdown , depending upon the user input, automatically that no of editable rows should appear to input data...(maximum 8 rows only)
I'm binding a gridview from a webservice with 30 columns and 10 rows, I need to print the same in a PORTRAIT, for that i decided to display columns as rows and
Using a class component, an Object data source and a formview I am successfully pulliing data from a SQL database. In some cases the rows contain one or more Null values and I would like them to be ignored completely. My simple code follows:-
I am trying to add the checked rows into the database by looping through but im getting this error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Is it possible to add values from different database rows to a dropdownlist?
I'm currently trying to add both ItemSizeSmall and ItemSizeMedium, but through trial and error I can still only add one row from the database. I want the dropdownlist to display "Small" and "Medium" etc.
I guess my primary question is: How do I create a database with product size attributes?
I apologize if this thread should be in another forum, but if the dropdownlist can display two database rows I'll settle with that solution.
My problem is this "I have all the tools, VS 2005, 2008, 2010. I have every book, I have SQL server 2005 and 2008" I have all the tools, but I do not know what tool or technology to use when starting out learning all this. I juat do not know what book teaches what I need to do for something like below.
Here is my question:
I created an .ASPX webform that is to "Submit" to a SQL 2005 database. I gave this form to my DBA, and he has made up a Data Model. Now I have to figure out how to write the ASP.NET code so it will submit to the DB. My first issue is not knowing this:
1. "How do I loop through my CheckBox List", and then insert the values checked into a "Database Table" (Each Checkbox value MUST be a seperate row in the table, the DBA does not want a seperate column for each checkbox value)
2. The database is using stored procedures
3. My third issue is this: "I do not know "where" to put the "code". If you do resond to this,
Summary: I just need shown the code on how to "loop through" the CheckBox List on my form, and insert those values into a database table as seperate rows.
I have a set of dataset with different column retrieved from DB. I need to present the datasets in one GridView (or other ListView etc...) without specifying the column_header. It should present automaticly since the GridView is bind to the DataSet.
In additional, I want this GridView to handle multiple rows edit and update the dataset, idealy, show data in textboxs in initially. How could I set the GridView to edit_model without hardcode column_header and textboxs in 'itemtemplate' or filed.
How could I achieve the bulk edit and update, so that I can assign 'mydataview1.table' to the dataset.
I want to name the headers of the ListView control acording to values of the first rows of a table in the database. This I want to do because the number of columns varies for each cutstomer and also the name of the column.
