On update the dropdown value shows NULL in database : here's structure for my gridview

It updates other controls in gridview but does not update my selected dropdowns item value in Integer format which is inside gridview...

Setting up the editItem template of a gridview. I have a template field with a dropdown list for editing. When the gridview goes into edit mode the dropdown list is displayed with all the right options but the current value of the field (pre-editing) is not the selected value of the dropdown list? How do I make that happen? I have a couple fields where the editItem template will use a dropdown list and I'm sure a user will not realize those values have changed and they will just edit what they intended to edit and save the changes, inadvertently also making changes to other fields.

Two ddl inside gridview. on selecting first ddl1 fill next ddl2 by passing selected value as parameter by executing the sqldatasource select command in codebehind.code:

I have a simple EditItem Template within a Formview that I am using to add a record to a table. There is one field in the form that I would like to assign a variable to. I cannot figure it out. I do not see any properties in VS2008 that allow me to assign the value.
The value that I am assigning is an item number, wich is the primary key in the table that I supply on the form.

I am using a Gridview to Edit, Delete, and Insert (thru the footer). I am tryng to usr required field validationg a column called qty .When I insert a record through footer validating is working fine.(Add button in footer template)
But when I edit a record and it is validating both footertemplate and edititemtemplate.

I have ASPxDataView and ASPxRadioButtonList within item template. i also have two SQLDataSource's (first fill ASPxDataView, second ASPxRadioButtonList). They are using other database tables connected with the foreign key. Is there any way to pass parameter to my second sqlDataSource (id) to fill RadioButtonList property ? i mean select * from TABLE2 where id = @id ; (@id is a value from TABLE1 which is a value of column returned by first sqlDataSource)

I have a listview that is showing its result by using a linq query. The linq query goes like this.

The category id is coming from a dropdownlist (CatParamID) *** Join: Besides the Varer (Product) table I also have another table, Sizes. This Sizes table contains 6 columns (ID_Sizes (int) primary key and the columns: OneSize, S, M, L, XL, XXL all are bit (true or false)). There is a relationship between Varer table and Sizes table. It says that I can only insert a value into the "fk_sizes_id - column" of varer table if that value already exists as primary key within the Sizes table. **** I'm starting by picking basic product values like productId, ProductName etc from the Varer (a) table ***** Then I'm picking the corresponding Sizes values (onesize, s, m, ...) from the Sizes table. Now within my ListView I'm showing the above result by using Eval, like this.

I am trying to change the textboxes in the FormView insert template to dropdownlists but they keep setting the parameters to null. Here's what I have:

And in insert parameters:

And the insert fails with YearOfQualification as null. If I sue the standard textbox:

Updates to the edited item are not passing the new / updated values but rather the original values. And I can't for the life of me figure out why when I change the original value in an edit textbox and post the update the new value is not being passed. I get the original value. Perhaps fresh eyes can spot the problem. This should be super basic but apparently I'm missing something.

In the detailsview, I set a edit item template (a bounded dropdownlist control). But in database there are some data not set to a value (null). I've created a databound gridview inside the gridview's RowDataBound I use the RowSpan property to merge cells. The grid ends up looking like this for example....

The button is generated using a Template Field and is a standard ASP:Button. If I click a button in an unmerged row everything works as expected. If I click a button in a merged row...the sender object on the command comes back as null and no matter what I try I can't seem to fix it or get a reference to the button.

I have a datagrid "dgParents" and inside this datagrid I have another datagrid "dgChildren".
In dgChildren I have three dropdownlist drp1, drp2, drp3.
I have a button"Save"
I am able to populate data.
Now User selects any value from dropdownlist of dgChildren and click button "Save".
I have a function in code behind for button click here I want to access the values of drpdownlists that are in dgChildren so that I can save in thesevalues in db.
I'm not able to acess the vlues of dropdownlists that are in dgChildren.
I tries findcontrol and controls etc but didnt work.
I'll really appreciate any help for sample code/tutorial/.

I have a detailsview on my page binding a table with information about the employees. They can update their information. Some info should be visible but not updateable. I could change the update command not updating but I like the control where I can set the column to read only. In that way the employee will find the data visible and they will see that the field/column cannot be changed. But having the column read only will return a null-value into that column when editing and updating anything. Why is that? Shouldn't it just update it's read only value?

I am using Asp.net with C#.
I have one gridivew, which is showing 20 records. And also, in item template of Gridview, I used one dropdownlist. It means there are 20 dropdownlist with all the 20 rows. That dropdownlist is already binded, means showing the records/items - 8 items. No issue with this.
Now, what I want is, when ever, I select any item from the drodownlist against each row in that gridview and click on the button "Save", it will save the id of all row with all the values of dropdownlist.
