I have register table in database that it has age column and I have textbox in register.aspx page that users can enter their age in it...
I want if users enter number between 10-20 in textbox it insert in age column "less than 20"
And if they enter number between 20-30 it insert into age column "more than 20"
How I can do it?

Now this AddGridAddBTN Temporarily adds a data row to a grid but won't submit that data to database, however AddGridSubmitBTN Submits the data to DB through foreach loop .
Now my query is i want to provide user a functionality that when he gets focus on Abbreviation Text Box OR Description Box and he after typing some data Press ENTER KEY , This ENTER KEY would provide funcionality as a AddGridAddBTN Button , and when he presses SHIFT + ENTER , It works like AddGridSubmitBTN Button , also i want to make Abbreviation and Description Field to be filled must !
Moral is that :
ENTER KEY WOULD DO : Generate a temporary row with holding previous values as it is actually doing on AddGridAddBTN Button.
SHIFT + ENTER WOULD DO : Enter the whole grid data thorugh foreach loop as it is actually doing on AddGridSubmitBTN Button.
I don't want to refresh my page on enter or shift enter pressing . This grid is binded through SQL DATA SOURCE ...
I have used Jquery Qucik serach Plugin and Its working fine for me. But I want to get the each record after filter when click on save button.
let's say gridview has total records are 4 then filtered records are 2.When click on Save button 4 records are getting.

It Works in the Item Template since it is calling the "select parameters", but once it is in the "insert parameters" on databinds, I am unable to get this to work.

View 15 RepliesI'm using an edittemplate to handle both editing and inserting for a Formview. In Insert mode, the Identity parameter is not needed (and cannot be used in the parameter list). In Edit mode, I need the bound value to know which record to update. So, what I tried to do is set the Text property in the OnDataBinding method.

The result is that the field is bound for Insert anyway, shows up as a parameter, and my insert statement fails (since this extra field messes up the field order of the parameters). Plus, it is always null in Insert mode by definition.
Is the OnDataBinding method too late to clear the property? If so, where can I do this, since PageLoad is too early (the template has not loaded yet and I cannot Findcontrol the field. Or is there a better way to handle all this?

The page count is set to 10, when the user checks the checkbox(es), I will need to insert those records in a table. How will I know which row was selected? I found an example (untried) that is designed to loop through and insert the necessary records; but it does not address inserting records based on selecting rows via a checkbox. I have a GridView on a page for maintainance of the database (mdf). Under this GridView1 I have a FormView1 where I use the ItemInsertTemplate to Insert new rows in my database (which shows the data in GridView1). The first textbox (BIDTextBox) i have on this template, contains text which identify a person. I would like to have a routine which checks if the same value that is entered in the BIDTextBox allready exists in the database. This routine should be fired upon leaving the control BIDTextBox.
I have tried with some stored procedure in my database, but that dosn't seem to do the trick. The most logical to me seems to do a loop thru my table "Ansatte" in my database using sql, selecting any occurence from the field "BID" in my table "Ansatte" that is simillar to the text entered in the BIDTextBox.

The data is added to the database when pressing a button inside the datalist (using onItemCommand). If I write UserIDLabel.Text the regular way it doesn't work either. The label is in the MasterPage, while the datalist is in a .aspx-page. If it is possible to somehow access the data that is in this label and add it to the database I would be ever grateful. Or is it somehow possible to add data that is in a Session and add it to the database?
