View 1 RepliesI have a GridView, that contains 3 Textboxes. Say Textbox1, Textbox2 & Textbox3
Now how do I subtract the value of Textbox1 & Textbox2 & show the result in Textbox3?How to do this in JavaScript?
I wonder how to muliply two columns in a table and the result is displayed in the blank column and be specified by its row..
View 3 RepliesI would like to multiply the values from two text boxes (txtBox1 should contain an Integer value, txtBox2 should contain a Float value) and place the result in a third text box. My code is below, but it doesn't work. The javascript function is called, otherwise it fails.
[Code]....
I have write this code to create a gridview with 3 columns
DataTable dt = new DataTable();
dt = new DataTable();
dt.Columns.Add("ID", typeof(int)).AutoIncrement = true; [code]....
I would like to add in this code a textbox with the quantity.When i give the quantity i want in another textbox to have the total.
for example 2*1.5=3
How can i do that? My huge problem is that i dont know how to take the values of the 3rd column.The value 1.5 in this example.
I have a FormView Bound to an SQL data source. In the DATA there are 2 columns that i would like to multiply together and display there rate
<asp:TextBox ID="txtPeople" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("People") %>'></asp:TextBox><asp:TextBox ID="txtRate" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Rate") %>'></asp:TextBox><asp:TextBox ID="txtTotal" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Rate * People") %>'></asp:TextBox>
This is just an example above but i believe it shows what i am trying to do, there is no calculated column in the database so i can not bind to that directly, and i can not just add the column to the data as its not in my permissions. So how do "Bind" the value of two columns multiplied together to a third text box?
I have a repeater which is binded using a Collection of Entity Data Framework.
Once the repeater is binded using the datasource, the user can control the no of rows present in the repeater using a Dropdown list on the page. For ex: if datasource has 2 rows, user want to add 3 more rows, user selects 5 from dropdown, which adds 3 additional rows to the Repeater. I am able to do this.
The repeater has textbox controls in each row. Now once the user enter the values in this textbox of the newly generated rows, the user can save the values entered with the no of rows specified.
I have a button which is outside the repeater and on click of this i need to validate all the textbox values and save them into dB accordingly.
Here is my code
Repeater.aspx

Right now the problem is im not able to fetch the values of the textboxes present in the newly generated rows.

I am trying to retrieve the values from the textboxes in the gridview footer row but getting the following error when trying to save the changes:

I have Grid view control in the page. Enable paging option is true.
Columns in the Grid view are ID, Name, Checked and Email
Whenever user selects the check box then I am showing txtEmail in the Email columns so that I can enter email id in the textbox.
Like this I am selecting checkboxes and entering values in the txtEmail when I go to next page and comes back. Then these entered values are cleared.
How to keep the textboxes values and checkboxes selected during paging?

View 1 RepliesI want to get the values from a cell in a gridview so can I do that without selecting a row. Its something like this I have a drop downmenu and based on the value selected in the dropdown menu I have to change the presentation of gridview without going to the database.
View 3 RepliesI didnt use bound field here.as it is simple grid view with auto generate columns. I want to make some columns Editable while some should not be editable
<asp:GridView ID="noticeDetails" runat="server" AutoGenerateEditButton="True"
onrowediting="noticeDetails_RowEditing1"
onrowupdated="noticeDetails_RowUpdated1"
onrowupdating="noticeDetails_RowUpdating1"
BorderWidth="1px" Width="100%" CellPadding="10">

I'm just wondering if anyone can assist me with this gridview problem
I have this Sql statement that outputs a gridview like this
Job Location Activity 1 Activity 2 Activity 3
Job1 Location1 0 0 1
Job2 Location2 1 0 1
Job3 Location3 0 1 0
* These columns are placeholders
I want to include a footer total that looks like
Job Location Activity 1 Activity 2 Activity 3
Job1 Location1 0 0 1
Job2 Location2 1 0 1
Job3 Location3 0 1 0
Final Total 4
Im not binding the database to the gridview via design view I'm binding it programatically in the default.aspx.cs file
So far the only tutorials I've encountered are ones the have the database bound through design view and gridviews with only one column that can be added. In my particular example I have multiple columns that need to be added and I have already bound the data to the gridview.
I have a gridview to which I am binding a database values. My requirement is to bind the values to the gridview by sorting 3 columns as a default sorting with ASC order in one column and descending order in other two.. Can I do it in my .Net code or should I do that in Stored Procedure? If it can be done in .net code Can you tel me how it can be done.
View 2 RepliesI want to freeze the first 3 columns in my gridview. There are few solutions out there but they all have some formatting or browser issue.
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to first add controls (ie. CheckBoxes) to a GridView with AutoGenerateColumns set to true. Then to click a single save button which loops thru the controls in the GridView, gets their values (ie. Checked/Not Checked) and then saves those values to a database?
View 9 RepliesThere are several answers to the question of how to implement the use of JQuery UI datepicker with multiple text boxes on the same page but none of these post seem to address the issue where you have multiple text boxes within multiple ASP.NET gridviews on the same page. For reference purposes, below is what I have now for binding one column from one gridview to the datepicker. The second GridView (TrainingsGridView) shown below has two columns that I want to setup with datepicker and the first gridview (CertificationsGridView) has one column that is already setup and working with datepicker
What you see below is a solution I found on line, adapted to my web application.
<asp:GridView ID="CertificationsGridView" runat="server" style="clear:left" DataKeyNames="ID,EmployeeID,CertificationID" OnRowDataBound="CertificationsGridView_RowDataBound" CellPadding="5" AutoGenerateColumns="False" PageSize="15" OnRowCommand="CertificationsGridView_RowCommand" Width="600px" OnRowCancelingEdit="CertificationsGridView_RowCancelingEdit"

I am updating a gridview. Problem is that when I hide certain fields that I do not want the user to update, they lose their values ie. the data is wiped out in the field unless I show them on the grid and make them writeable. Is there a property I need to set for the field to retain the value when the grid is updated or is this in the sql statement?
