View 1 RepliesI've developed a web application to accept video file uploads and then pass them to a backend service on an external server. The application runs without error on the visual studio debugging webserver, but once on a production iis 6 or 7 server, yields a timeout error at about a consistent amount of time into handling a large upload. Specifically, it errors in the middle of transferring the video file to the external server, once the application has successfully received it from the client. I'm aware of several timeouts to be configured related to the problem, and have done so. The application's web config has been tested with one or both of the following settings

Is there something i can use to track how long my mysql queries take? perhaps log them if they take > a certain amount of time? or track all queries but only hold the longest query time? using this with C# .NET with ASP.NET. I'd like to use this to occasionally check if my queries are getting slow.

Everything is working fine on my local machine but when i uploaded on my server i got this error message:
"More than one item in the metadata collection match the identity 'mtDBModelStoreContainer'"
Note that this error happen when i open the table "WebsiteAdmin/users/List.aspx"
I there I have recently created an ASP website wich uses .net 4 and SQL db but soem some reason even displaying 20 records in a gridview is slow... So after some reading I converted the website to a Web Application Project so its compile prior to publish.. But yet again this is a bit slow. pages loading time is not of a bit issue...
View 8 RepliesI have used ASD.NET code using SQL Database for Transaction operation successfully. By changing the Database Code to interface with MYSQL an Error occurs. If I remove the Transaction Code from within the the application, it works OK by displaying the MYSQL data (Read Only) in the layout of the application. I am using Mysql Essential-4.1.22-win32 and MYSQL Connector ODBC-3.51.2. My objective is to EDIT the MYSQL Data.

I am using a Gridview on a webform. Got the editing/updating all working correctly. Problem is, all the data is on one row and it is alot of data. I thought about splitting the data into 2 gridviews but then all of the employee data isn't lumped together like the higher ups want.
I have done research on a DataRepeater as it will give me the formatting I need it but it doesnt support editing.
I have a DDL to filter a gridview by "distance." Works fine, but the list of distances (in the DDL) is getting too long and I would like to norrow it down to "Short", "Medium", and "Long" instead of listing all distances. I have added a column to the Distance table named ClassId and a new table named DClass. I'm having trouble figuring out how to incorporate this idea into my existing DDL-Gridview relationship. I am executing a stored procedure that takes about 75 seconds to execute. My page times out while it tries to wait for the resultset. I tried adding Connect Timeout=200; pooling='true'; Max Pool Size=200" but it still times out.
I guess I do not necessarily need to wait for the result set. Is it possible to just send the SQL command with something like (making it up:) command.ExecuteOnServerAndDoNotWait?

I developed a web site more then a year ago with .net2.0/c#/mssql 2005. it works fine but i was asked to replace mssql with mysql.
I wrote a class to complete data access works (unfortunately, I didnt use nhibernate or other data access tools :((
I edited the class to use System.Data.Odbc objects rather than System.Data.SqlClient.
It works fine in selecting data but not manipulating data. when i try to insert new data it adds null data for all fields in the table.
in debug mode, i noticed that it might be caused by OdbcParameter but not sure.

I have an application which imports data from csv to sql server 2005. It is taking long time to import data from csv to sql server 2005. it has a timer. on tick of timer, I am checking if current rown in csv exists in database. If it exists, It is not added to sql server otherwise, It is added that row to sql server 2005. Also, In page load, It checks on each tick, whether user is logged in or not. it adds value to log file that user is logged in. How can I optimize this ?
