In one grid there is only one column and entries are 100+, all entries are hyperlink entries, but the gridview does not look nice with one column and 100+entries, is there any way I can split that entries in 3-4 coluns to look even.

I'd like to use a simple datagrid to display the survey result, but I need to separate the submission column into multiple columns ('question' as column name, 'answer' as data) the number of questions or questions being asked are different for each survey so they are not fixed. Is it even possible to get something like this below in a gridview?

I'm trying to display images retreived from a sql server table in a GridView.
I found that the approach generally accepted was to have a handler that finally writes the image to the HttpContext.
My problem is that I only get a red X in the image column and not the images I want.
I'm using Northwind database, and I'm displaying data from the Employee table.

Among the various applications I need to create are selecting records based on user inputed criteria (via a DropDownList), and excluding records that have null values (which I need to allow in my database) in certain columns.
I am using Visual Studio 2010 where I have a gridview that displays many columns and because of that the user has to scroll horizontally in order to view the rest of the columns. Is there a way to split the columns so that each row will contain some columns and some columns underneath them? I am using a Gridview on a webform. Got the editing/updating all working correctly. Problem is, all the data is on one row and it is alot of data. I thought about splitting the data into 2 gridviews but then all of the employee data isn't lumped together like the higher ups want.

I can't use the like'%Mary%' because it can extract 'Ma' too.

Ok...so far so good, and as long as I'm the only one working on the system it works fine. The problem is if this scenario happens:
* I go to the page and look at the gridview
* Someone else enters a new record into the database, causing the first row to contain a new record (not displayed in my browser)
* I click select.
What happens then is that, for some odd reason, I will get n numbers higher than the one I actually selected (n = num_added -num_removed).
I was under the impression that the commandargument wouldn't change for my session as long as I didn't refresh the gridview...?... There are no ajax or anything else messing with postbacks or viewstate as far as I can see..
I am using GridView ,I want to do a validation like if i edit any one of the Cell in that column, it will through the validation when the sum of column value is more than 100. How can i do this validation?
