im just testing out signalr and i am having too much fun and got a little bit far from my usual skill now my question is can i pass a list to the client here is my code actually i learned this from you mr aspsinnipets

I am using Fabric.Js ... its returning XML file .. i need to save this file. after googling i found that we can save XML files using Activex Control but it will not work other than IE. So i am trying to pass that XML file to server side.. I have forgotte password page in my application,page have one textbox to insert email address,when user click on submit button if inserted email address (i.e. abc@gmail.com) does not exits in DB it will give custome error message like "Email ID not available".after that suppose user will enter inproper email address (aaa#gmail.com) than client side validation for regular expression will file "Email id not valid",at same both message be on screen,now i want only one message at a time.so please can you help me for same

I have a generic list of a custom type. The custom type has a string and double.I'm binding the list to a gridview and it outputs everything fine.I'm trying to format the double column into a currency format. It is in a template field as I'm calculating a running total. I pass the value to a function that returns a double and adds the current value to a running total which I will show in the footer.
The format is not changing to currency as expected when using String.Format("{0:c}", GetTotal(Convert.ToDouble(Eval("Amount"))))

I have a ListView which is filled by generic list of type MyClass. I can easily bind data from this list into ListView. But I have problems with reading data in opposite direction. This is my class:

The operation of reading ListView data into List generic list should begin after clicking the button "GetData".
I saw the following advice:

but it does not work - the DataItem property of each Item of ListView has null value. The point is that I have generic list with data. I am binding this data into ListView which can be edited by user. After that after click Save or GetData data from ListView is read into generic list of MyClass type.

i want to check my collection so i can add a new customer as long as the username does not exist in the collection i do not want 2 customers to be able to have the same username.
i have been trying many different things to try to get this to work but i am not exactly sure what i should be doing I have a aspforum and collection C# class of the list.

I'm trying to create a control out of a class I found, and one of the overridden functions is the following:
protected override void PerformDataBinding(IEnumerable data)
However, when I try to build the control I'm getting the error as shown in the subject. I've tried searching, and it seems the signature for the original function matches the one I have, and all other solutions I've seen uses the same signature.

I'd like to get the message number and severity level information from SQL Server upon execution of an erroneous query.
For example, when a user attempts to delete a row being referenced by another record, and the cascade relationship is "no action", I'd like the application to be able to check for error message 547 ("The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint...") and return a user friendly and localized message to the user.When running such a query directly on SQL Server, the following message is printed:

In an Asp.Net app is this information available in an event handler parameter or elsewhere?

I have a Parameter @CategoryID - however I need to take in a category ID such as "BA" and translated this to a list of Category IDs such as "IE","EG" etc so my WHERE clause looks like:
WHERE (CategoryCode LIKE 'IE' OR CategoryCode LIKE 'EG') AS Info
I have a Lookup Table which contains the "BA" code and then all the real category codes this means such as "IE" and "EG".How do I have the CategoryID expand to multiple "OR" statements in my SQL Function?
At the moment the query as shown can cope with one CategoryID such as "IE", this is done as I want a category page such as category.aspx where a parameter "BA" is passed such as category.aspx?category=BA and this page will list all items with the category codes "EG" and "IE".
The reason I need this is there is a "parent" category code which has multiple "children" category codes which are different to the parent code. I am using ASP.NET and .NET 3.5 on the front-end if this helps.
