Data Controls :: Select Number Of Rows From DropDownList And Add Rows To GridView?
May 7, 2015
I came across a situation where a user selects no of rows from dropdown , depending upon the user input, automatically that no of editable rows should appear to input data...(maximum 8 rows only)
I have a gridview which right now is getting loaded with four pages of data. There are 50 rows per page. My problem is I need the "select all" button on my page to select 180 rows, not just the 50 on the page. This is my javascript:
Code: function sel() { var frm = document.forms[0]; isSelected = !isSelected; for (var i = 0; i < frm.elements.length; i++) { var e = frm.elements[i]; if (e.type == 'checkbox' && e.name.indexOf("ckSelected") > -1) e.checked = isSelected; } }
I am more a C# person than javascript, but I am deducing that I need something other than document.forms[0] to represent the entire gridview. Or perhaps, I can't do this in javascript at all. Do I need server code to run and set a session variable, then when the user clicks the button to do something with all his selected rows (it goes to a detail page), query that session variable to see if it's all rows instead of iterating through each gridview row individually to see if the checkbox is checked?
I have one big DataTable with X rows. I want to select Y rows from it and bind them to a new ViewList. While doing it, I want to delete these rows from the DataTable (Having X - Y rows).
What is the best and fast way to do it?
I don't know if it is better to create a new DataTable to have the Y and after that bind them to a ViewList or something else?
I'm also looking for example in code how to select/delete rows from DataTable.
I've got a nested gridview and I'm looking for a way to determine the number of rows in a child gridview, so far no luck. Has anyone come across a solution for this ? Both of these gridviews are bound using ObjectDataSource.
I am trying to create a gridview with a fixed number of rows (5). If the gridivew contains no items then five blank rows will be shown. For each row that a user enters then a blank row will be removed so that there will be a constant number of rows displayed. How might I go about doing this?
I have created an out-of-the-box (default everything) ASP.NET Dynamic Data Entities Web Site using VS2010, C# and the .NET Framework 4. Created an ADO.NET Entity Data Model based off a MS SQL 2008 R2 database and registered that EF data model for my dynamic data. Everything works great except for the one change I would like to make. By default, the GridViewPager.ascx file provides the values 5, 10, 15 and 20 in the dropdown for GridView's "Results per page" option. I would like to change that to 10, 20, 30 and 40 - with 40 being the default selected option.
I went to the code behind file and modified it to have the values I am wanting. Those values now show in the dropdown, and work if I select them. Problem: when the page is first rendered only 10 rows will show. How can I change this?
I am trying to show as part of the Gridview table the amount of records found as a total in one of the Gridviews rows. I have some code which does add a row to the Gridview but it does not seem to be counting the number of rows it just shows 0 all the tim. Does anyone know why this might be? you can see the count "visitCount" and the dt.Rows.Add but it doesn't increment
Today client has asked a option of select all members in Database so that to send sms to all users at one go,I am having a GridView with 20 rows in one page(all Rows 200+) and having a CheckBox if we select that only current page rows are selected but I need to select all rows which are present in Data Set.
I request to give me solution as soon as possible,

I have a GridView with an extra checkbox column to select rows.
To select multiple rows, the user now has to click each separate checkbox, but I would like to offer the possibility to select multiple rows at once using Shift+click.
Thus the user would explicitly select the first row with a single click and the select the last row using Shift+click. And the checkboxes of the rows in between would then automatically be checked as well.
I have a standard .NET GridView. How I can: 1. Highlight the row on mosue over (or hover),2. Activate the Select Event when you click on anywhere on the row?
I'm trying to filter data based on the selected value from a drop down list and the according values of a local variable within a gridview_rowdatabound event. For example, if "In Arrears" is selected, the gridview should return all rows where the account balance is less than -100. So far, when I select a value from the dropdown list, it has no effect on the gridview. Here's the code I have:
If (DropDownList1.SelectedIndex = 0) Then e.Row.Visible = True ElseIf ((DropDownList1.SelectedIndex = 1) And (AccountBalance <= -100)) Then e.Row.Visible = False ElseIf ((DropDownList1.SelectedIndex = 2) And (AccountBalance > 100) And (AccountBalance < -100)) Then e.Row.Visible = False End If
I want to add inputs from textboxes, ddl to datagridview without saving it to database by clicking on add button as many rows i want and later save it to database when clicked on save button....
When a user submits the query to SQL when clicking a button I need to get a count of the number of rows that are returned. Which event does the gridview.count code need to be place in?
Right now I have it in the btn_click event, but in order to get it to count the rows you have to hit the button twice since the query is not returned yet. Here is my code.
I'm binding a gridview from a webservice with 30 columns and 10 rows, I need to print the same in a PORTRAIT, for that i decided to display columns as rows and
