I like to copy the database. Right now i copy the database. After that i need manually to clear all fields. There are also some relationships, so its a lot of work to clear all of it manually.

But now I wanted do like if user type in the input box which is not available in the list of auto complete than at the lost focus of input box it should show some alert that it is not available in the auto complete list or i wanted to show some div as a alert. After some alert or div on bases of response if "yes" than I wanted to show some new DIV where he can add new record into database and that will automatically comes in the auto complete list and also should be selected in text box if response is "no" than text should be empty in the text box and cursor should be focus into the text box.
Showing DIV for entering data that I will do it but my problem is how to check the data enter is part of the auto complete list or not.

C# - Best Pratice: How To Implement A List Similar To Stackoverflow's Users List

Case,To make it clearer let's give the Stackoverflow Users list as an example. This list can be manipulated at client-side. I can search, page and so forth. So obviously we would need to call jQuery.ajax to retrieve the HTML of each page given a search. Alright. Now this leaves me with the first question:
What is the best way to render the response for the jQuery.ajax at server-side? I can't use templates I suppose, so the most obvious solution I think is to create the HTML tags as server-controls and render them as the result of an ASHX request? Nice. That solved we have yet another problem:
When the user first enters the Authors List the first list page should already come from the server completely rendered alright? Of course we could render the first page as well as an ajax call but I don't think it's better. This time I CAN use templates to render the list but this template couldn't be reused in case 1. What do I do?
Now the final question: Now we have 2 rendering strategies: 1) Client and 2) Server. How do I reuse code for the 2 renderings?
Membership Tables Empty After Create Users
Sep 2, 2010I had to upgrade a sites ecuroty from a custom system to .net membership. I created all the users like this.

I thought everything was fine and then went through the labourious task of replacing all the usersids used a as a foreign key in all the tables. It was only after doing this and trying to log on I couldnt, and noticed the membership table was empty. I assumed (stupidly) as it had done the users/ roles it must have done the membership. As I have already re-assigned the old user ids I dont want to import again as the userid will chnage. So my question is: Can I create a membership for each of the users in my aspnet_users table? I have the passwords etc in varchar fields at min from old table.

Security :: Insert Previous Users Into Membership Tables
Mar 10, 2011I'm trying to do a bulk insert of data into the aspnet_Membership table. I have existing records from a previous version of the system I am re-building in asp.net. I've been researching and asking questions, but I am still missing something. What is the best way to do this? I believe I need to grab my previous table and iterate over each record and insert into the new membership table via the Membership.CreateUser method. So far I have been unable to make it work. My code so far in the on click event of a button is below.

C# - Migrate Users From Custom Table To Membership Tables?
Mar 9, 2011I'm creating a new middle tier where all of our client calls will go through a WCF service. We're using ASP.NET membership with the service in order to authenticate users. The middle tier will be hitting an existing database in which we already have an InetUsers table containing usernames and passwords.This is where it starts to get messy. This new middle tier will be used by our web application, but not by our existing desktop application, which will - until we rewrite it at some point in the future - be using the old COM+ middle tier. Administration of the users for the web application takes place in the desktop application. In other words, users will be created and passwords set and changed from within the desktop application, which in turn hits the already existing InetUsers table.Ideally, what will happen is when we deploy the new middle tier, we'll take all of the users from the InetUsers table and create records for them in aspnet_Users and aspnet_Membership. Then we'll set a trigger on the InetUsers table to keep aspnet_Users and aspnet_Membership up-to-date.There's a whole bunch of questions wrapped up in this, so I'll try and list them all out here:Is this the right approach? Obviously having this data in two places isn't ideal, but bear in mind here that I'm not the final decision maker here and we're kinda stuck with some legacy stuff here, at least for now. Still - maybe there's a better way.In the same vein - would we be better off coding our own membership provider rather than using the SqlMembershipProvider? How difficult/easy is it to do so?If we use this approach, I plan on using the aspnet_Membership_XXXX stored procedures for the initial population of the tables as well as in the triggers. Having done some research into this, it appears that if I want to call aspnet_Membership_CreateUser directly from SQL (ie in a trigger...) rather than using the API, I have to store clear text passwords since I can't get the salt and the hash right otherwise. Is this true?Does any of this even make sense or am I going about this the wrong way to begin with?

May 13, 2010From using the command: EXEC sp_spaceused on a SQL 2008 database,
the DB has a size of 642.56 MB, unallocated space 148.77 MB.
I can also see the size of the individual tables from the same command:
Reserved: 103656 KB
Data: 98264 KB
Index_size: 2656 KB
Unused: 2736 KB
What I don't quite get is why the total database size is 642.56 MB when the size of the individual tables is so much smaller. We pay for the total amount, in chunks of 500 MB. I was trying to see which tables where causing the DB to be so big, but to me, it looks like it is not the size of the tables but something else.
What should I look at to figure out why we are taking up so much space? Am I not understanding how this works?

May 13, 2010I'm creating entity on a project to use them as data on my website. I got my base simple entity Users and my DataContext. The thing is i would like the database to create the table as i create Entities.
I mean, actually my database doesn't have a Users table and do not generate it as i build and launch the project. I used to be a Java dev and in Java the table can be created with JPA so i guess Microsoft made it possible with ASP.net but how to do? I've looked on the web but didn't find it.

In the following table (2nd column) you'll see that each motorcycle product applies to a range of years. What is the best way to store this range of years in a relational db? At the moment I have a datefrom and a dateto field for the two ranges, but that may complicate things when I want to filter the table by a particular year. E.G. datefrom is 2006 & dateto is 2010 and I would like to filter by products for a 2008 model.

All the searching I've done so far has produced results for dealing with one or two tables. I have four, and can't get my head around how to adapt the sql to deal with it.
I have the following layout:

Feb 2, 2010I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place - I have a feeling it can't be too difficult but I can't seem to figure it out. I've come across this problem many times and I've never solved it. I would imagine the scenario is commonplace - I have a table of Products with a PK of ProductID, and a table of related images with a FK of ProductID. Each product can have many images, but for my initial display I want to display one product record with one image record. I have a Sequence field in the Images table and I could pick the lowest one. Right and left Joins return too many records - if I have three images for Product 1 then Product 1 is listed three times.
I've gotten around this before using a flag in the Products table, or listing an image in both tables but I'm sure there must be a SQL statement that can get the information that I need.
