DataSource Controls :: How Do You Convert A Time Variable From SQL Into Text
Apr 16, 2010
I have defined a column in a table I have in an SQL database as being a Time variable and not DateTime. How do I convert the time data that I get from my table into a text string using C#?
I have a column in a table within my SQL database that is specified as a time variable. Not DateTime or Date, but just Time. So, I need to know how to convert a text string into the format that would be accepted for entry in the Time column of a table in SQL. I know how to convert dates, but not time.
I am selecting time from dropdownlist. and want to convert it in datetime and store it in database. When I am converting it to Datetime using following statement.
I am working on a website hosted with GoDaddy, SQL Server 2005. I have a table in my SQL Server database with a full-text index. On my website, a user can type in search terms and the terms are then passed to a stored procedure in the database which performs the search. The first search takes about 45 seconds to get results. Subsequent searches return results immediately. I found a description of this problem in a Microsoft knowledgebase article:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915850/en-usGoDaddy tech support says I need to purchase a dedicated server to make the changes suggested in this article.Surely there is some other solution. Does anyone know how to avoid this delay without changing the server configuration?
I got a variable of type System.Drawing.Image and need to convert it to a variable of type byte so I can store the image in the database. Can someone show me how to do that in VB.NET code.
I have multiple sqlcommands with about 30 to 50 different parameters added like below: sqlcmd.parameters.add("@var1", sqldbtype.varchar).value = var1 My problem is that I keep hitting the error "Failed to convert String to Int32". Its annoying as I have to go through each and every variable and set it to a static one value, test it, and keep going until I find the offending variable. Is there a easy way of finding out which variable actually caused the error?
As you can see, the connectionstring parameter is defined to a specific connection string name and I need to be able to set such a parameter to a different value, for example, to a session variable content.
I am storing a custom "Organisation" object as a session variable. One of the properties of the Organisation object is "OrganisationID" (integer). I have a DataSource that requires a parameter value to run, and I want to use a SessionParameter to populate this. In a previous version, I stored the OrganisationID directly as a session variable. In that case, I could easily access it like this:
[Code]....
However, how do I now access the OrganisationID property of an "Organisation" type session variable (called "Organisation")? I have tried this, which does not seem to work: <asp:SessionParameter Name="OrganisationID" SessionField="Organisation.OrganisationID" Type="Int32" />
How could I go about having a client in various time zones select a date and time in their web browser and save it as utc time in my sql database? This date is a date in the future, so whether or not the date is in daylight savings time could change so I'll need to account for that.
I have a datetime column in my table. It has a value like this for example: 4/27/2010 7:34:00 PM. I would like to display the time part of the column in military time. So this datetime column would appear as: 4/27/2010 19:34
I have what I think is a weird issue. I send text from one page to another via Session Variable. When page 2 loads, the text box has the session text set, but if the user changes the text and clicks the button, the SQL database is update with the original session text. If I remove the redirect from the page 2 button_Click method, then, the page refreshes with the textbox reverting to the session text and thr SQLDataSource has the session text added to it.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good login stored procedure that can be freely used and features login limits and so on (basically a good one) With my limited SP knowledge, I've tried to create one myself, I haven't completed it yet as I'm not sure on how to compare the last login attempt time against the current time (it's in the comments).

I have a products table with 3 fields name, price and quantity, I need to fill a datatable with those 3 fields and using a foreach build a chain. I build my chain currently using a datagrid with my following code
this code work good.
string item_name; string amount; string quantity;
[Code]....
but I like to form my chain directly from datatable, not rely on a datagrid.
I need to convert a string to http url.The way i have to do this is--I have to retriew a value from database and convert it into a sharable http url in Asp.net C#.
Would anyone know how to pass a variable to SqlDataAdapter. Here is my code.
TextBox1.Text = 1 Dim textboxval As String textboxval = TextBox1.Text connection.Open()Using connection As New SqlConnection("Data Source=CHRIS-PCSQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=TorGHL;Integrated Security=True") Dim dapubcb As New SqlDataAdapter("SELECT [BarName], [MenuSubId], [Address], [PhoneNo], [BarURL], [Email] [BarDescription], [Id], [bg_long], [bg_lat] FROM [BarDetails] WHERE [MenuSubId] = texboxval ", connection)
I have an objectDataSource which uses my stored procedure GetNotifications
And my GridView is bound to that objectDataSource
the only problem is that my stored procedure requires the variable @UserName and then returns the values for that username, but I do not know how to pass the variable to the objectDataSource, does anyone know the code for this?
I can get userName from HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name but how do I pass that to the objectDataSource?
