I'm inserting from one table to another, if there are any contraint issues (duplicates found on the VolInterestID and client_id) I want to still insert the ones that are not Duplications. But this terminates the statement if any duplicatiuon is foundIs it possible to do a loop using this insert and pass the where the @client_id and the @clientvol_ID and if it finds a dup just keep going ot e next row?

A few points:All was working well 6 hrs before, and I didn't change anything.I get the error anytime I try to connect to a local database (not remote, but I tried anyway to allow remote connections and here's a screenshot of what I get - there's nothing there:

View 1 RepliesI am using Visual Studio 2010 for the first time. I program in MS Access for a long time at decide to move to the ASP world. My problem is that I design my first web .aspx default page with a simple data grid. I decided to connect the data via the business object data adapter. I use the Dataset designer to great the dataset. All looks well and works fine on my PC. But when moved to the server I get the Terror "The type specified in the TypeName property of ObjectDataSource not found".
From my reading for the past two days, it seems that something need to be define (a class of some sort) to let ASP know where to find the data adapter. If this is the case, then why did not Visual Studio 2010 did not automatically build the class in the appropriate BIN/ APP_CODE or Global directory and more importantly, why would it work fine on the PC , but not on the server. I am totally blind-sided by Visual Studio 2010 allowing me to design and test on PC but throws me a curl ball with moving to a server. Am I assuming to much from Visual Studio 2010???
What is the solution.. What I am looking for is to know where exactly where and how to write this class. I am so new to ASP, all of my reading just confusing me more and more by reading so many post on this error. I know it is probably a simple class to write somewhere, but why did not Visual Studio 2010 write it accordingly.
I have a dataview on a page. I am binding a list of Items, and each item has a Person object. So I get this exception "field not found in selected datasource" when I try to bind to any property on the person object.

It appears that the dataview is having problems with the person object because it will display all the properties for the Item correctly.
why I get a not found on the boundfield and not on the eval?
I added a new table to my type dataset. When the code tries to execute the new row on that table I get the error message.

I've tried the wizard and also click and drag the table from solution explorer to the xsd file. The other tables work, just this one table won't work. What should I check?
On my aspx page, I have a div which is 600px wide. Within this Div Tag is a Gridview that is binded to a datasource.The gridivew format has been themed to go with my webpage and the width has been set at 600px.On databind, the gridview shows items from a data table and there could be anything from 1 column up to 10opulated depending on the UserId.My question is how do I get the Gridview to continue to the next row if the there are to many items to show on one line.

I'm busy working on an ASP.NET Web Application (3.5) and can't seem to connect to a MySQL DB. I first created the entire application using a WinForms template and everything works 100%, but as soon as I move the exact same code to the Web Application, I can't connect anymore. Here's the code:

As soon as I try to create the new OdbcConnection instance, I get the error:

As noted this works in a WinForms app, and even more strange is that I don't even specify a DSN name...
All I could find from reading through forums all over the internet is suggestions of downgrading the MySQL ODBC driver version, which I'd really rather not...

The Exception from the 1st update was because i didn't closed the reader, so it opened too many tables an JET crashed on the 2048 open tables. I am completely stuck here. Basically, I am serving a file to the user by sending it using Respnse.BinaryWrite. I am also sending this on a redirected page so as not to destroy the Response stream of the webpage which fired the filedownload. This works perfect on my development machine, it also works perfect on Firefox.However, if I publish to my test server, on IE 8 (and 7 I presume) a security warning bar appears (does not appear in dev mode on my pc), asking the user to accept or decline the file. Now the not-so-funny thing: If the user accepts, the file is NOT served, I just get back to my main webpage. If the user tries a second time to get the file the security question will NOT pop up again and the file is served.How can I make sure the file is served in the first instance if the user accepts the security warning and wants to download?
