I have a page where my user enters a search term and submits it against my database. What I want to happen is when the result(s) return, I want headings to pop up over my gridviews. For example, I want "Photographs" to appear over my gridview for photographs, "Documents" to appear of my gridview for documents, etc...
When I run my page, those headers are already there, even though I have not conducted a search yet and my gridviews have not populated. If I go into properties and select visible=false, they never show up, which is not exactly what I want either. I have read about literals, textboxes, panels, and have confused myself.
I want a word search i doing the search like this , but it is giving character wherever there is in the string,if i give two character like ok it is searching for a full string where ever Ok is there select * from table1 where textfield like '%word%' this query would match word but also wordabc how can i make it aware of delimitions
How i can make the normal search string to sql server full text search parse, because when we are user enyer search text "how to run windows schedule in C#", in database we have article to to this, but data not returning and sometime is say error in key word and etc.
now have tried to locate and find anything about how to make a
TEXTBOX and A Button "Search"
Problem is that I have made this "bellow" and when I then enter a "value" into texbox2 and hit enter on the button it wont show me the "emnenummer" that I have requested.
im not even sure this is the correct way to do a "search"
HDSK_AUTO HDSK_ID HDSK_CASEDESC 1 TC1 pc spoil 2 TC2 problem Action table: ACT_AUTO ACT_HDSK_ID ACT_DATE ACT_TIMEIN ACT_TIMEOUT ACT_ACTIONS ACT_STATUS [code]...
How do I go about doing this in SQL? I need to return 3 columns: ID, the stuff combined into a single field, and the latest status of each ID. (by latest I mean the most recent entered record's ACT_STATUS. this could be based on the ACT_AUTO I think, which is the auto-increment number)
i am making a quiz system in asp.net using C# vs 2008.having one equestion per page, with previous and back button.each question have four options with only one correct answer. The options are in a radio button list.I have a database which has two columns as QuestionID,CorrectAnswer.
For viewing previous answer the user can click on previous button,so that he can see his previous marked answer and if feel he had marked the wrong option then he can mark the other one.
Some Problems:-when clicking the previous button the option which was marked in radio button list got unchecked!!So,the user is unable to know which he/she had marked before.I want that the option remains checked so that the user knows what he/she had marked previously. After completing the quiz how can the answers selected by the user be compared with the CorrectAnswer stored in database and can be displayed in the result page having four columns as QuestionID,CorrectAnswer,UserAnswer,Right/Wrong in a grid view. Though i am able to display the QuestionID and the CorrectAnswer in a grid view in the result page.
I have a database table column consisting of text URLs [URL] In my LINQ-to-SQL-driven gridview, I want to make this a clickable link programmatically, with differing link text (e.g. "Link text"). I'm getting close but am missing some key concept. Here's the core of the .vb codebehind:
Dim dctx As New ResourceMod.ResourceModDALDataContext Dim eleResObj = From eleRes In dctx.Resources Where eleRes.Type = "url" Select siteurl = eleRes.Website GridView1.DataSource = eleResObj GridView1.DataBind()
This displays the raw URL in the gridview (i.e. non-clickable). I've experimented with adding an explicit hyperlink column a la [URL](setting AutoGenerateColumns false etc.), but haven't yet figured out how to assign the asp:hyperlink Text and NavigateUrl fields with the anonymous-type object eleResObj. Using a field construct such as Text='<%# Eval("siteurl") %>' isn't working, presumably a scope issue. Is a LinqDataSource needed in this case, and if so, how would that affect the original LINQ query?
I have created a search page which outputs results in a repeater. It uses a stored procedure to search a table %like a textbox value, what's the best way to make it search multiple tables and output the results on one button click?
As i could just use seperate stored procedures and repeaters for each table i want to search, which is only 2, but this seems inefficient.
i am developing a web site in Asp.Net using Visual Studio 2008.i want to know that how can i search a keyword that will be entered by the user, i want the key word should be searched in complete database(all the tables)using a single query.I am using sql database. how can the keyword be searched using like parameter...
I am developing the Home page of a Client. Apart from various things on this home page I have a text box and search button. Having said that, I have a database in which I have almost 12 tables with varying number of columns. Now my question is,Is there anyway to search a word typed by a user in the textbox to search it in all the tables(all columns) of the database.
I'm a novice in .NET programming. I was trying to figure a way to make a MULTI TABLE search via a stored procedure for my website. I've written a SP to select records from one table, which isn't working for some unknown reasons:
[Code]....
Whatever I search for, the datagrid is displaying all records from my table.
What I don't quite get is why the total database size is 642.56 MB when the size of the individual tables is so much smaller. We pay for the total amount, in chunks of 500 MB. I was trying to see which tables where causing the DB to be so big, but to me, it looks like it is not the size of the tables but something else.
What should I look at to figure out why we are taking up so much space? Am I not understanding how this works?
I want to know that how many tables we can have in database and what is the maximum no. of columns.I also want to know the maximum size for each datatype.
I need to join some tables to get the matching records. I often have to ask around to see how certain tables could be joined. Is there any way to query the information schema or some thing else to see what columns/values match in certain tables in order to figure out how tables should be joined.
I'm creating entity on a project to use them as data on my website. I got my base simple entity Users and my DataContext. The thing is i would like the database to create the table as i create Entities.
I mean, actually my database doesn't have a Users table and do not generate it as i build and launch the project. I used to be a Java dev and in Java the table can be created with JPA so i guess Microsoft made it possible with ASP.net but how to do? I've looked on the web but didn't find it.
