DataSource Controls :: SqlDataSource - Parameter For IN() Clause
I have an SqlDataSource query that should use an input parameter for multiple integer values, like:

select * from table1 where TableID IN (1,2,3,4,5)

select * from table1 where TableID IN (@IDValues)

How do I do that ? Default parameter settings won't work, returning "invalid integer value" . I suppose that parameter should be passed as some kind of array that SQL recognizes as multiple integer values , but what's the correct way of setting this ?

DataSource Controls :: If Value In Sqldatasource Is Null Run Code?
what i would like to do is when the value of my sqldatasource is returned, then if it is null, run a code, in my case, redirect them to the login page, heres my code:

string connectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["PokemonPlanetConnectionStrings"].ConnectionString;
string insertSql = "SELECT * FROM LoggedInUsers WHERE UserId = @UserId";
using (SqlConnection myConnection = new SqlConnection(connectionString))

Now what i would simply like to do is, if the select statement searches the database, and the result is not found, the simply redirect them to "register.aspx"

i have two sqldatasource controls. one i use to display data in textbox's ,filter'd by a selectparameterin page behind code. Once checked, i want to copy this data to the other datasource ,by selecting checkbox.Then display this data in detailsview control.

At present the two datasource controls declared , render data to the page simultaneously during pageload. I want to first check data in textbox's from first source, before second datasource is rendered to screen. note,both are filtered by a page variable. i wish to leave the textbox datasource control in situ, as other controls and code depend on it.The other detailsview datasource is my problem?

DataSource Controls :: All Parameters Null In Update Of SQLDataSource?
I have a FormView which is bound to an SQLDataSource. When a user clicks on a save button the form, I need to write any changes made to the FormView back to the table.

I have a Stored Procedure on my MSSQL 2005 database that should be executed when the user clicks on the save button.

It appears the Update is firing, but when I trap the DbCommand object in the SQLDataSource's 'Updating' event, all of the parameters that should be passed to the Stored Procedure are coming through as NULLs. Consequently, the Stored Procedure isn't updating anything.

In the click event of the save button I'm explicitly firing the SQLDataSource's Update method:

The parameters in the SQLDataSource <UpdateParameters></UpdateParameters> section appear to be correct.

Can anyone give me an idea on what to investigate to figure out why it appears the Update is only picking up NULLs?

Basically, the user Selects a row on GV that executes an Insert into a table the GV cell values of the selected row.

The SQL field data type is varchar. If the GV field is Null, the Insert adds the value to the SQL field. How do I keep the @nbsp; from being displayed in the cell of a data control when it is called at a later time? Do I add some more asp to my control parameter? do Iadd some vb code behind? Here are some relevant code snippets of existing code.

Forms Data Controls :: Handling Null Values In Detailsview / Cannot Insert The Value NULL Into Column
I have a detailsview bound to a datasource where all columns are set to not allow null values. Now, I want to make sure that the user does not try to enter an emtpy string when inserting a post in the detailsview. So I set all the fields to ConvertEmptyStringToNull="false".

I also added a RequiredFieldValidator for the EditTemplate TextBox1.

All of this works when I use a Gridview (for updates). But in the detailsview, I get the errormessage:

"Cannot insert the value NULL into column".

So why isn't ConvertEmptyStringToNull="false" and RequiredFieldValidator working in the detailsview? As far as I could figure, these should have made sure it wasn't possible to try to insert a null value in the SQL Server database...

Forms Data Controls :: Using AND / OR Parameter From A DropDownList In A SqlDataSource
I am facing a small issue in using a DropDownList that has only two values (AND and OR) which i want to use to configure a SQL Query in a SqlDataSource. How can i use this thing by passing the value in a SqlDataSource Select Query in such a way to Bind the Result to a GridView. I want something like this -

SELECT[somefields] FROM instinvoice WHERE Namen = @Namen @Option InvoiceNo = @invoiceno where @Namen is from a DropDownList and InvoiceNo is from a TextBox

I m having a problem in specifying this @Option parameter from a DropDownList which contains only two list items - AND and OR. On the Basis of the Selected Value from this DropDownList i want to execute query like

SELECT[somefields] FROM instinvoice WHERE Namen = @NamenAND InvoiceNo = @invoiceno

SELECT[somefields] FROM instinvoice WHERE Namen = @NamenOR InvoiceNo = @invoiceno

Using the Query with @Option gives me a Parsing Error. Why is that so. How can I implement this scenario.
