I have textboxes of customer Address data. bound to Invoice table. Displayed on a Page.
I want to be able to show same data in detailsview. bound to Delivery table
using the following criteria:
1. check delivery table for address data, where email = usermembership Email address and populate Detailview. If no data present, copy Customer Invoice Address data across IF present, to Delivery Detailsview.
2. Insert record IF no Address found/Update IF record amended in Delivery detailsview(Only applicable to Delivery Detailsview)
I would prefare this to be accomplished in a Button_Click event instead of using Command buttons in bottom row of Detailsview.
This is because i am using a Multiview page that processes Customer Address data.
I need to add Existing row value and new value in table
ex,
ProductID QTY

here the productid 1 is having QTY 5 now i update this Qty to 25
how do i form the query add QTY 5+20=25

What I am doing is I have a JavaScript which executes a code behind method and it would not accept an already created asp.net label. So I have created the asp.net label programmatically but cant assign it to the table to display the text value of the label. Below is the code:

View 2 RepliesI have a dataset that has around 5 rows. I also have another Datarow() array that has an additional 3 rows which I would want to add to the dataset. The structure of both the Dataset Rows and the Datarow arrays are the same.
Do I have to perform a loop on the datatrow arrays and add them one by one? or is there a better way of adding them in one go ?
Basically what i have is a button and i want this button to add value in database, i mean if the value in the database is 1 it adds 1 to it, so that the value becomes 2.

I am trying to use a stored procedure to insert new records from aspx page. I have created an stored procedure for that and it works fine but I want to display an error message when record exist. It does not display any error message however it does not insert when record exist. How can I display an error message when record exist flag in stored procedure -

I created an MDF file in VS 2008 in the Solutions Explorer window and can see the file path for this file as:

But when I try to add this MDF file in SQL Server 2005 Express, I click the Add button but cannot find this exact path above. How do I find this? I am running this on a 32-bit XP OS.
I am attempting to write my very first ASP.NET application, it will simply display the contents of an SQL server database table in a Gridview. This is just a first step, my eventual intention is rewrite a set of VB6 applications I wrote some years ago. But I need to walk before I can run.
I have already created an SQL Server database containing all the tables used by the VB6 applications.
How do I link this database to my ASP.NET application. Previously (on another computer) I have simply opened "My Computer" and then navigated to the .mdf file (e.g. northwnd.mdf) and then dragged and dropped it into App_Data in Visual Studio. However when I try that on my own machine, with my own data, I get an "Access Denied" message.
How can I not have access to my own data on my own computer? What am doing wrong?
I am running Visual Studio 2008 on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine, with SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition (or which ever one installs with VS 2008).

After i changed it, when going to SQL server express, looking at the original table, some how most of the data were changed to 0 and 1, some of them still stay the same, but most of it has been changed to 0 or 1.
I am building an app (ASP.NET 3.5 + SQL 2005) that allow users to schedule meetings and these meeting will show in the users to-do list.
One kind of meeting, when scheduled, should show into ALL users to-do list.
I have 3 tables:
#1 - Users -> UserID
#2 - Meetings -> MeetingID
#3 - Member_Meeting -> UserID+MeetingID
What I need is:
Based on the scheduled meeting, read all users from table #1 and add their info in the table # 3 with the MeetingID (which I can get from the UI, because it will happen when they create the meeting).
I have been browsing about it, but so far, I couldn't find a good source of info to start with.
I have two tables cust and order_cust cust table have cust_id, name, addr, zip columns and order_cust have order_id and cust_id columns I take input from user for cust table i.e. name, addr, zip... the cust_id is an IDENTITY column so generates the value automatically Now I want to insert the last generated cust_id into order_cust (order_id is also an IDENTITY column)
How can I achieve that using stored procedure?
