The Company table contains any Company with a potential relationship to a "Member". For example:
Companyabc = C (Competitor)
Companyxyz = S (Supplier)
When a new Member record is entered, the user selects from two dropdowns: CompanyType (Supplier, Retailer,Competitor); and CompanyName. The CompanyName dropdown is populated depending on the value selected for CompanyType so if the user selects "Supplier" for CompanyType then only those Companies with a CompanyType of "S" for Supplier will be listed in the CompanyName dropdown.
The use can enter up to 10 CompanyType/CompanyName combinations. When the record is saved, these CompanyType/CompanyName combinations are saved in the Member_Company_Link table. One record for each CompanyType/CompanyName combination is entered in the table.
The problem I'm having is in the retrieval process. I have a "search" screen in which users can select certain criteria to list Members by and one of them is CompanyName. For example they want to see all Member records with "company xyz" as a Supplier and/or "companyabc" as a Competitor. Because each Member can have multiple Supplier and/or Comptitor records I can't figure out how to loop through them to match on the value entered by the user. If Member1 has 5 corresponding records in theMember_Company_Link file and 4 of them contain Companies that are Competitors (Competitor1, Competitor2, Competitor3 and Competitor4) and the search criteria is to find records containing "Competitor3" how can I loop through the values in the Member_Company_Link file for each MemberID to see if there is a match for "Competitor3"?
I know this post is too long and most of you will have ignored it by now but I'm hoping someone will have a clue because I've already spent more than a day trying to figure it out. It seems I have to store multiple values in an array but I have no clue how to do this.
We have rdl report and passing a multiple paramter values through URL. When the passed values exists in report parameter values then report displayes properly.
But when we pass the values through URL which doesn't exists in report parameter value then it throws an error saying parameter value is missing.
The reports db and the application db through which we display the reports are different. how do we address this issue.
i want to pass multiple arrays variable in query string.for example i have three checkbox list Brand ,Price, Attribute any arrays variable may have more than one value key arrays variable are fixed for checkboxlist
1-checkbox list Brand has Brand []arrays variable
2-checkbox list Price has Price []arrays variable
3-checkbox list Attribute has Attribute []arrays variable
now i have selecting two -two from every checkbox list .than i want to query string something like this
I have a textbox in asp page wherein it should take multiple values separated by comma's to select command as input. The same I have done using C# page, but now trying to have the entire query in aspx page itself.
<asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> //GridView code <asp:SqlDataSource ID="Sql1" runat="server" ConnectionString="test" SelectCommand="SELECT Name WHERE ID IN (@TEST_ID) from EMPLOYEE ORDER BY 'Name'">
I am creating an online employment application, and instead of creating a table with 20 columns for job duties that may or may not receive values, I simply want to create 3 columns
ApplicantID EmployerName (Name of Work history Employer) JobDuty
I want to create a form on a page with 10 textboxes so the applicant can type in some job duties they had at that job.
Is there a way in C# or SQL to then cycle through and insert the textbox values as separate rows?
I have successfully created a strongly typed dataset. And trying to assign my user input values to the columns of my StronglyTypedDataset but having no luck with it
[Code]....
In the above code 'PlantInventoryAccuracy' is the name of the Strongly Typed Dataset and 'PlantInventoryAccuracyDataTable' is the dataTable. when I try o debug this to see if my user input values are being assigned to te currentRow I see blue squuiggly line under the 'new' key word when I mouse hover it says
'The type PlantInventoryAccuracy.PlantInventoryAccuracyRow has no constructors defined.'
This is the first time I am trying to use Storngly typed datasets. I am not sure if I am trying to use it right. The above code is in my code behind page and my idea is to fill this row with the user input values then pass this to my data layer where I need to assign these values as the parameters to the stored procedure I have created and then store them to the database.
What i am trying to achieve is that there are 7 columns in my db table. one is primary key and rest 6 are integer columns. Now my application will allow user to input 6 values. I want to compare 6 values entered by user to those 6 integer columns and if in any row 3 or more columns match user's input Primary key of that table is returned..
I have tried using queries, cursor, nested loops and i am still unable to achieve my results..
DB Table Structure.. I am inputting 2,3,7,11,45,65. Number of returned rows should be 5. eg..
Is it possible in to set up an SQL table column to have multiple values? Or would I have to put my values into a new table and link it to the original one?
SELECT ClientMaster.ClientName,* FROM ProjectMaster LEFT JOIN ClientMaster ON ProjectMaster.ClientCode=ClientMaster.ClientCode WHERE ProjectMaster.RefCode IN (@refcode) AND ProjectMaster.ProjectStatus=@status
@refcode should be able to contain multiple values but how should I pass value to the parameterized query?
I have tried many ways such as @refcode = 'VALUE1','VALUE2', @refcode = VALUE1,VALUE2 but to no avail?
Is it possible to return multiple values from a stored procedure? Basically, if I execute the stored proc on the C# side, then on the SQL side I do multiple calculations. Let's say I have 5 int values I need returned to the C# side.
Having an issue with the combobox overwriting the user input if there is a partial match.

If there is a record such as "NETEX" and the user types in "New Item", an item not in the data source, then the value is "NEw Item". If the user goes back to change the "E" to "e", it replaces the entire line with "NETEX".
Using CaseSensitive="true" is not an option as the user would have to capiltalize the beginning of every input to get hits, allowing for case-sensitive duplicates.
Have tried DropDownStyle="Simple" and all flavors of AutoCompleteMode to no success.
I have a checkbox column in a Gridview that I would like to use to insert the value of one cell in the row into an access database. There will be a maximun of five cells allowed to be selected so there can be one value written to one field in the database up to the maximum of the five fields. The access database has five columns: Selection1 ,Selection2, Selection3 ,Selection4 and Selection5
When the checkbox is checked, the value of one cell (PliD) should be written to each field in the database. Ie: checkbox in row 1 should write PliD value to Selection1, checkbox in row 2 should write PliD value to Selection2, checkbox in row 3 should write PliD value to Selection3 and on depending on which checkbox has been checked. I am not sure how to get the value of the checkbox and write it into the corresponding fields in the database.
I am using 3 web controls ,two are cascading dropdownlists used to filter gridview control bound to a datasource.
My question is , How to define multiple queries in stored procedure that takes parameter values from the controls declared using sqldatasource. Also, return all data when i set default control value to say 'null'.
NB: one paramaterised query for cascading dropdownlists and another for other control.
I'd like to add a description field to an application that can be as long as several lines (or even paragraphs) or as short as a one-liner.Instead of taking up a lot of screen real estate or have scroll bars, it would be preferable to have the textbox grow based on its input.
On IE6 adding Style="overflow-y:visible" accomplishes this nicely (both on display of read only, and if we are in edit mode).
However, it has no effect on Firefox, or IE7 for that matter.
basically i have two dropdown boxes to filter data and textbox with stored procedure bound to gridview.i want to be able to query data depending on the selected value passed, either using one or more parameter values.
i would like seperate sqlcommands to chose from depending on which controls i select to pass parameters.
i have included a parameter Select(control id) as this is declared by the wizard for stored procedure.
but i am not sure how it is defined on the page and passed to procedure.
So far i've populated my grid view with my roomID. however using data reader I don't seem to be able to get more than one column to auto generate even though i'm now looking for three values : SELECT tt_roomEquip.roomID, tt_room.roomCapacity, tt_equip.equipTitle is my select bit of the sql, though it's only putting roomID into my grid view.
I've requirement where user can enter multiple columns like first name, lastname, email, age, sex fields and insert them into database.on my frontend aspx page, i'll be showing a single row initially with 5 text boxes(first name, lastname, email, age, sex) and a button to add more columns. when user clicks on add more, another 5 textboxes will be shown and then i'll be taking 5 + 5 (textbox values) and comma seperate them and need to insert into a table with primary auto increment key ID and the remaining 5 columns(firstname, lastname, email, age, sex). I previously worked on the same requirmeent but with only single column. Now i need to insert for 5 columns, How can i do this? Below is my stored proc which i used for single column insertion.
i got my checkbox control in each row.actually my problem is i bound checkbox in a gridviw and i need those checkbox are checkd if database values are match.i do it like below
[Code]....
but problem is only one checkbox is checked.in page_Load i bind gridviw in ROwDatabound event i check Duecode in another table.so i need only matching checkbox should be checked.
Microsoft Chart Control generates a different visual then the set property. Property based it always shows correct value but if you open the generated chart with graphic software like Photoshop it shows pixels are not matching with the set property.
I found this bug while trying to retrieve all InnerPlot Positions into a HiddenField. Based on this bug right now, there is no way to get correct absolute position of ChartAreas or InnerPlots.
