May 31, 2010I have one big DataTable with X rows. I want to select Y rows from it and bind them to a new ViewList. While doing it, I want to delete these rows from the DataTable (Having X - Y rows).
What is the best and fast way to do it?
I don't know if it is better to create a new DataTable to have the Y and after that bind them to a ViewList or something else?
I'm also looking for example in code how to select/delete rows from DataTable.

Sep 22, 2010I'm trying to figure out how to update multiple rows in my Directory table, when a user changes their Street Number or Street Name in their profile. They can add multiple users to a directory and each user they add to the directory has this primary users UserId in it. So if the primary user changes their address, I want it to update the address for all the users they listed in the directory as well. I'm adding this to the On_Click in the Code Behind, so when they click to update their profile, it fires this function as well. This code may be way off, but here's what I have right now:

last time I worked with a database (BD2), I set this as an autoIncrement feild and it would automaticaly 'deal with it' (ie, maintain the last used value somewhere and automaticaly used that value (after incrementing it) for any new row on the table).

Now if I want to retreive all records from spt_values table except 1-1 record of type = A and type = B. To retreive all records its a simple query "Select * from spt_values where type in ('A','B')" -- this will returns 16 records. Now I want to retreive all record except 1-1 record left in each type, so it will return 14 records in result.
