Databases :: Appending Parameters Into Adodb.command?
Jul 21, 2010
When appending parameters to an ADODB.Command should the parameters add to the command text. When I get to the point where it sends to the database the command text of the adodb.command is "{ call PKG_WORKPLAN.ADD_PROJECT(?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?) }"
I then get a ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error ORA-06512: at line 1 error. I think i may be getting it from the question mark.
Also is there any way to what sql is inserted if that isn't it.
I am using ODBC command and adding parameters to it. But it always keeps on saying procedure proc_Update expects a parameters @id which was not supplies ( this errors comes for all the paramters that I add).
I have a package already created that inserts into a few tables but am having trouble cpoming up with the code to append the parameters from the the form to the command.
I am connecting to an Oracle database and calling a stored procedure in a package but when I run the following, I get the error on the .Parameters line below:
Can anyone see why this command is not committing to the database? When I debug, I get the error MyConn.ServerThread threw an exception of type System.NullReferenceException', but I can't assign anything to it as it's read- only.
I am using AS 400 OLEDB with .NET. It uses '?' instead of '@param to bind parameters with a commandNow there is a situation where the command is like
SELECT ... FROM (SELECT ... ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY ColumnName) as RowNum FROM Employees e ) as DerivedTableName WHERE RowNum BETWEEN @startRowIndex AND (@startRowIndex + @maximumRows) - 1 Now my command becomes SELECT ... FROM [code]...
iam trying to fill my dataSet Iam getting Error: Fatal error encountered during command execution.Ima using Ms.Net 2.0 and MySql 5.0 So Thing is Iam Hanged Here .My Code as Like:
MySqlConnection con = new MySqlConnection("server=XXX.XXX.X.XXX;user id=murali;password=murali;database=MURRAGE;default command timeout=3600"); da = new MySqlDataAdapter("SELECT BLNO FROM IFORM", con); [code]....
I have a asp.net gridview control on my page with several fields and a couple of command fields. However, the update command is giving me problems.
Here is what works. The update command works provided I put straight text into the textboxes that appear. I even have one field that contains a dropdown list which works fine.
Here's the problem. I have two fields that need to access their value programmatically. These fields will reflect the current datetime and the current loggedin user from active directory. I have already created public strings in the C# code.
When I run the edit command on the asp form the grid uses one "DataKeyNames" element. With this the grid can update the selectedrow. However, I haven't been able to access it programmatically in the C# code. I can access the selectedrow in the "selectedindexchanged" event but then I am not able to update my fields in the gridview itself. So, part one of my question is how to I access the "DataKeyNames" properties of a gridview control.
if I can't access the "DataKeyName" property perhaps I could set the label nested within the gridview to the "myCurrentUser()" public string. I am inserting my code to hopefully make this clearer.
I have a problem whenever i run my code i get the following error ERROR [42000] [MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.1.46-community]You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' ('b'), ('Manager'), ('c'), ('d'), ('e')' at line 1 my code works with connector/net but my host does not have it installed so i've had to change my code to odbc which they do have, i have found out the syntax is different and changed my code accordingly my code is as follows
I'm developing an ASP.NET app with a MySQL backend, using the MySQL Connector Net 6.2.3. I have a DetailsView with an insert command that is throwing the error:MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlException: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)' at line 1My code is:
[Code]....
If I hardcode values into the insert statement, it works fine. But when I put the ? placeholder in, it throws the error. Can anyone help me pinpoint the problem or offer a workaround solution?
I am currently making a website on asp.net and i am creating methods using TableAdapter. I am connected to MySql using an ODBC connection. The select * from department will work perfectly for me but when trying to use parameters i am given an error message on the wizard. select * from department where name = @name gives me the error: Error in where clause near '@' unable to parse query text. also tried select * from department where name = ?: this gives me the error: No mapping exists from dbTypeObject to a known Odbc type.
I am with GoDaddy (yeah, yeah, don't want to hear it) and must use ODBC to connect to my MySQL database. The connections are working fine but I have a GridView/DetailsView parent/child relationship set up between 3 pages. I know that these pages worked with a .NET Connector locally but after I changed them to ODBC, I only get the first part of the page, nothing that depends on data being selected works. This has led me to believe that I must alter the way I pass parameters to the next request page. I have read some things about using a question mark but I cannot figure out how I should apply it to my page as most examples are in C# or VB. My page is mostly pure ASP.NET and I'm not sure if I still continue to utilize the asp:ControlParameter. the code below.
how to get GoDady to alter their medium trust to accept sockets???? That's all it would take
This is the page my employees will use to view the people in the database and then select them and have a details view of that particular cust_code (customer code) pop up to the right of the gridview:
[Code]....
This is the page ( UpdatePrefCustomers.aspx ) that my employees, who will be allowed access it (yes, I already know how to apply authorization but will do it last before deployment so it doesn't drive me crazy when I preview in browser), will use to add, edit, and delete from the database. It must be accessed first and the other two pages, prefcust_edit.aspx and prefcust_insertt.aspx are called from it by passing the parameter cust_code:
How can i call db2 store procedure with parameters from asp.net ( C# ) using Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2. I am able to connect to database. What is the syntax to call a store procedure?
When I edit in a asp file, the intellisense does not work for any ADODB objects with vs2008(sp1) in Windows 7.For example:Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.connection") .. And next line I keyin "conn". Then keyin ".", but it does not popup the intellisense menu for ADODB.connection.But, the native objects for asp, such as Request, Response, Session, Server.. etc., them popup the intellisense menu correctly.Or some other objects, such as "CDO.Message", them work fine !
This program used to work when I had VWD 2005 express and SQLSERVER 2005 express. Then we upgraded to VWD 2008 express and SQLSERVER 2008 express. Now it fails Error running adodb Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed. 3706 To clarify; I used to run variations of the following to create small offline cub files that I could email to remote Users:-
PROVIDER=MSOLAP; DATASOURCE=C:TESTAMRunAdodbTestMyCube.CUB; SOURCE_DSN=AMCubeData; CREATECUBE=CREATE CUBE AMCubeData( DIMENSION [Channels], LEVEL [ALL Channels] TYPE ALL, LEVEL [Channel Group Name], LEVEL [Channelname], MEASURE [Sales Val] Function Sum Format 'Standard'); INSERTINTO=INSERT INTO AMCubeData( [Channels].[Channel Group Name], [Channels].[Channelname], MEASURES.[Sales Val]) SELECT [ChannelGroupName] AS Col1, [channelname] AS Col2, [Sales Val] AS Col23 FROM dbo_qryCubeDataExtra ;
in a VB6 program that ran them in a ADODB connection something like :-
Dim MyCnn As ADODB.Connection On Error GoTo Err_ErrorHappened Set MyCnn = New ADODB.Connection MyCnn.Open (MyAdodbcmd)
I wanted to post my problem and solution since I've gotten some good information on this board. When deploying my Visual Studio 2008 C# .NET 2.0 web application Production, I encountered some problems, which is not unusual. What was unusual is that my Crystal Reports .NET reports that use the Report Viewer control would not work; they errored out with:
note: Crystal Report works fine in dev environment....
Logon failed. Details: ADO Error Code: 0x Source: ADODB.Connection Description: Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed. Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. We are using Oracle 11g 64 bit as database. We establish crystal report database connection by two ways,
1. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle
2. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC
but we got the same error in report module when we using two methods.
I want to issue an INSERT command for an SQL Server table using DataAdapter without first issuing a SELECT command. Could anybody send me lines of code to handle this? Also how do i manage INSERT into selective table columns (I have 10 columns but i only want to update 2 of them)?
