Databases :: Insert Command Throws MySQL Error When Using Parameter Placeholder?
Apr 21, 2010
I'm developing an ASP.NET app with a MySQL backend, using the MySQL Connector Net 6.2.3. I have a DetailsView with an insert command that is throwing the error:MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlException: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)' at line 1My code is:
[Code]....
If I hardcode values into the insert statement, it works fine. But when I put the ? placeholder in, it throws the error. Can anyone help me pinpoint the problem or offer a workaround solution?
I have a problem whenever i run my code i get the following error ERROR [42000] [MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.1.46-community]You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' ('b'), ('Manager'), ('c'), ('d'), ('e')' at line 1 my code works with connector/net but my host does not have it installed so i've had to change my code to odbc which they do have, i have found out the syntax is different and changed my code accordingly my code is as follows
I am using AS 400 OLEDB with .NET. It uses '?' instead of '@param to bind parameters with a commandNow there is a situation where the command is like
SELECT ... FROM (SELECT ... ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY ColumnName) as RowNum FROM Employees e ) as DerivedTableName WHERE RowNum BETWEEN @startRowIndex AND (@startRowIndex + @maximumRows) - 1 Now my command becomes SELECT ... FROM [code]...
I have a page which submits a form in my local system but in my production system when i click my submit button it just freezes with the error in my web developer toolbar saying Error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: When calling stored procedures and 'Use Procedure Bodies' is false, all parameters must have their type explicitly set.
I'm having problem on passing parameter on odbc because it's not working at all. I tried this using sql and I have no problem at all. All are working fine. Is there a different syntax on odbc? Here's my code:
[Code]....
Or using mysql connector/net to use mysql. I'm having problem installing it because the visual studio integration is not working, so I can't find it on the data source provider.
is there ny data type of date which can hold the date only.....coz i have a field of date in which i have write date manually... i have taken the datatype as DateTime.... and its showing "incorrect datetime value"..
Can anyone see why this command is not committing to the database? When I debug, I get the error MyConn.ServerThread threw an exception of type System.NullReferenceException', but I can't assign anything to it as it's read- only.
Im hosting my site over at some ISP, and when i try to use INSERT or UPDATE procedure, i get this error : "SELECT command denied to user 'KidumMac'@'localhost' for table 'proc' "Which is really wired for two reasons:
A. In my code i don't reference whatsoever to the MySql databse, nor the "proc" table B. In the myPHPadmin program the queries work just fine. Any insights?
the second problem is that when i try to import my database, the tables import fine, but when it gets to import the stored procedure, it tells me that the user needs SUPER PRIVILEGES for that. what is it ?
Actually i need to transfer data from one table to another table in mysql with codition of Time.for example i need to transfer data at 10.00am when user login at 10.00am it must be insert into another data table.. if anybody know time control
Before I get too far down the road I just want some advice. I'm building a web app using VWD2008 and MySQL 5. I've got the membership provider stuff working fine and have an odbc connection setup which works "fine". what I've noticed is that when I configure a new sqldatasource (that will be used to provide data to a listview or something) the Advanced -> generate Insert,Update..... option is disabled. I'm assuming its because of the sql syntax difference of the square brackets issue between MS SQL Server and MySQL.
Before I start writing all my own insert and update statements does anyone know if there is a way to get MySQL and VWD to talk the same language, maybe a different connector or something. I'm using mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.15
I am trying to insert html pages to MySQL with my Asp.NET project but i am getting error; You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'de Osman patlaması', '', '<div style="text-align: center"> <img src="/i' at line 1
How can i fix that problem my server side code is;
I am working on an ASP.NET C# web application in Visual Web Developer Express 08', with MySql database.
Everything works just fine, except one problem that drives me crazy for few weeks...
My application randomaly (or not) stop responding, or just freezing for couple of minutes.
I am sure that the problem is connected somehow to my connection with MySql db.
In the debug window in VWD I get over and over the line:
"A first chance exception of type 'MySql.Data.MySqlClient.MySqlException' occurred in MySql.Data.dll"
Note that in each page load I call a function that kills all sleeping MySql connections, so I don't really think that my problem is 'too many connections'.
The error isn't constant, and not occures only in one page, it occures in many pages (that contains mysql access code), randomaly.
I made a website with mysql back end, it all goes dandy on my dev machineI got all the connectors required, copied the dll files in bin.Now the iis server doesn't recognize drivers and give me this error ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified now the iis server got the drivers connector from mysql website andinstalled even the datamanager from webinstaller
I keep getting this error when inserting a lot of data into a mysql databaseERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.1.40-community]Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' byte
I have been trying to create a sql statement that uses a subquery to join 2 oracle tables to create a strongly typed table adapter. For example:
Select productName, (select categoryName from categories where categories.category_id = products.category_id) as Category from Products
The ASP .Net tutorial I am working through recommends using subqueries instead of joins for the insert, update and delete commands to be automatically generated by Visual Studio 2010. When I click Finish in the table adapter wizard I get the following error (I am using MySQL version 5.1 and the MySQL Data Connector 6.3.5)
Generated SELECT statement. Error in SELECT clause: expression near 'SELECT'. Error in SELECT clause: expression near 'FROM'. Missing FROM clause. Error in SELECT clause: expression near','. Unable to parse query text.
iam trying to fill my dataSet Iam getting Error: Fatal error encountered during command execution.Ima using Ms.Net 2.0 and MySql 5.0 So Thing is Iam Hanged Here .My Code as Like:
MySqlConnection con = new MySqlConnection("server=XXX.XXX.X.XXX;user id=murali;password=murali;database=MURRAGE;default command timeout=3600"); da = new MySqlDataAdapter("SELECT BLNO FROM IFORM", con); [code]....
I am trying to insert a record into a MySQL table, but the operation fails without generating any error. Here is what I have:
Code: Try n = taProject.InsertNewProject(pname, descr, idManager, startdate, tenddate, client, disable) Catch ex As Exception Beep() End Try
[code]....
I am not passing idProject, which is the primary key, and set to autoIncrement..How can I get any diagnostic output from the insert attempt to indicate what the error is?
I have used ASD.NET code using SQL Database for Transaction operation successfully. By changing the Database Code to interface with MYSQL an Error occurs. If I remove the Transaction Code from within the the application, it works OK by displaying the MYSQL data (Read Only) in the layout of the application. I am using Mysql Essential-4.1.22-win32 and MYSQL Connector ODBC-3.51.2. My objective is to EDIT the MYSQL Data.
I'm busy working on an ASP.NET Web Application (3.5) and can't seem to connect to a MySQL DB. I first created the entire application using a WinForms template and everything works 100%, but as soon as I move the exact same code to the Web Application, I can't connect anymore. Here's the code:
Code: public class DBC { OdbcConnection connection; public bool CreateConnection() { try { string connFormat = "Driver={MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver};Server=[SERVER];Database=[DBNAME];User=[UID];Password=[PWD];"; connFormat = connFormat.Replace("[SERVER]", Properties.Settings.Default.DBServer);
[Code] .....
As soon as I try to create the new OdbcConnection instance, I get the error:
Code: ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
As noted this works in a WinForms app, and even more strange is that I don't even specify a DSN name...
All I could find from reading through forums all over the internet is suggestions of downgrading the MySQL ODBC driver version, which I'd really rather not...
OK, this may be a little difficult to explain, so I will try my best and post the code I currently have.
I have a table with a list of usernames. I have the list of usernames displayed on a page through a GridView. What I am attempting to do is for each username in the column "adminUsernames", I need to insert a set of values in another database table for EACH "adminUsernames" that exists. Example: There are 2 adminUsernames vales in 2 seperate rows. These are "Admin 1" and "Admin 2". For each adminUsername values (Admin 1, Admin 2), I need a row interted in another database table. Maybe the code that I have (that does not work) will help you see what is happening:
[Code]....
I keep receiving this error when running: [Code]....
