VS 2010 - Failure To Insert Record In MySQL But No Error

I am trying to insert a record into a MySQL table, but the operation fails without generating any error. Here is what I have:

I am not passing idProject, which is the primary key, and set to autoIncrement..How can I get any diagnostic output from the insert attempt to indicate what the error is?
the problem is that it will insert a new record in a mysql table, I have already done the mapping of the mysql db and I have already done tests returning data and everything works. Now I read from a file, where there are queries written, I have them run me back and the result of true or false based on the final outcome of single query written to the file. Txt; I did this:

but it does not work, I sense that it returns no errors, but neither the result given written in the query. txt file is as follows: INSERT INTO category (id, name) VALUES (null, 'test2')

I've got an asp.net application which I've deployed to my shared hosting provider. I've modified the connection string to point to the MySQL database stored on the shared server, and the page loads correctly.
However, when I run the page through the internet (as opposed to through VWD2008), I get an error: Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts.
I'm not sure where I've gone wrong. The MySql.Data.dll; MySql.Data.Entity.dll and MySql.Web.dll are all in the /Bin folder.

If I hardcode values into the insert statement, it works fine. But when I put the ? placeholder in, it throws the error. Can anyone help me pinpoint the problem or offer a workaround solution?

I'm very new on VWD, but I got the hang of it for the past 2 weeks(thank you for all the videos posted here in ASP.NET),but I'm really weak on the coding part(vb & c#),except for all the sample shown on the tutorials. Anyways, I have a simple project that does insert, update & delete to SQL express using the details view. But to complete my project, I need to add a button that will create an event to restore the very last record inserted in SQL and display it back into the details view for minor modification and nserted again as the newest record with the mod. I'm doing this so user, doesn't need to re-key-in redundant information, like names, original date & time etc, and just make modification on the description of the last record.....

The datatype for fields in table temp_save are:
fil_no-->INT(15)( to store a 15 digit number) order-->LONGTEXT(to store contents from HTMLEditor(ajax control)) orderdate-->DATE(to store date)
I use GridView & FormView to update a record. but when I click the "save" button, throw an except : FormView must be in the insert mode to insert a record. The record has been updated success, and I didn't change the mode of the FormView, how this error comes?
Conseptually what I'm doing is simple, and technically it may even be simple, but I'm still rusty. Here's what I'm trying to do:
I have a webform that allows the user to enter a new record, and in there I have also included a couple FileUpload controls. Upon clicking the "Save" button, I'm saving the details entered into one table (ITEMS), and also inserting the FileUpload details (path, id, upload_user) into another table ATTACHMNTS). Because one ITEM can have many attachments, I needed to split the tables up. So on save, I need to save the ITEM, save the ATTACHMENT, and then also put the ITEM_ID in the ATTACHMENT table. I'm second guessing myself because I think all I'd have to do is after I do the ITEM insert, do a SELECT MAX on the ITEM table and hold the newest (MAX) id in a variable and then use it in the ATTACHMENTS update. I'm not 100% on this because there IS a chance that someone else could save a few milliseconds later and I'll link the wrong ITEM. See my delima?

I have used gmail for sending mail localy which worked fine but when i uploaded the same file on server the "Failure sending mail." error occured. here is the code i have written:

I have implemented a send mail functionality. For that i installed the SMTP Service on my local machine by going to 'add remove programs' -> windows components -> iis (properties) -> checked the smtp service option and installed. Now i don't know why i am getting 'Failure sending mail' error. Definitely i am missing something. what i am missing and how can this be fixed. This is frustrating me now as i dont know much in this area.
I am using FireFox v3.6.14 I am developing on VS2010 and have a project with a web and Silverlight solution.try to run the project I get the above error.I cant work out if its Visual studio error or a firefox error, Im pritty sure its not my code!!Ive tried running the same app via Chrome with a similer error.
I am trying to implement the asychronous email code demonstrated at - [URL] I have copied and pasted the code to my own site so there should be no syntax errors and have spoken to my web provider about SMTP email access which they say is allowed and they advised me to use the following:
Host = localhost Port = 25
and that SSL should not be checked - I do not have SSL set up yet anyway. When I try to send an email I get the following message - Error occured, info=Failure sending mail. Has anyone ever encountered this before and know how to solve it?

Not sure if this is the best place for this. I am using VWD 2010 express. I want to connect to a MySQL database on my web server at 0000free, a free web hosting site. I'm not exactly sure where to start. I have looked at MySQL for .NET can't make much sense of it. I have been looking for information all over the place maybe someone here can help me.
I have a data connection to an existing MySQL database. The database has various tables. I am creating a new table, and want to set the ID field to be the primary key. I can not see a way of doing this inside Visual Studio. I saw one suggestion to right click on my ID field in either the Server Explorer or XSD and select Set As Primary Key (or something like that), but I don't have that option displayed.
is there ny data type of date which can hold the date only.....coz i have a field of date in which i have write date manually... i have taken the datatype as DateTime.... and its showing "incorrect datetime value"..
I have a requirement that I need to read an excel sheet using asp.net/C# and insert all the records into mysql table.The excel sheet consists of around 2000 rows and 50 columns. Currently,upon reading the excel records ,I am inserting the records one by one using a prepare statement into mysql table.But its taking around 70 secs to do so because of the huge data.
I've also thought of creating a new datarow, assigning values to each cell,adding the resulting datarow to datatable and finally calling dataadapter.update(...).But it seems to be complex because I got around 50 columns and hence I'll have to assign 50 values to the datarow.
