i'm quite new to HTML, and am trying to create a professional looking TreeView.
I can not use the in built TreeView in ASP.NET as i need to point the target of the selection to another frame (I have tried, and this doesn't seem possible).
My TreeView is built up as follows:
[code]....
I have the collapsing of the folders working, but would like to know how to format this TreeView so it has dotted lines down to the child nodes (as most TreeViews tend to have).
In asp.net page, How can i call the javascript methods for form processing-submitting if the user browser supports javascript and use code behind events if the browser does not support javascript.I have the javascript code to send the form data to an ajax server page using jquery. Don't know how to invoke the needed one based on the browsers javascript availability
The script are put in the following and the block is in the .ascx page.
<script type="text/javascript"> </script>
However, the function UserControlNameInit() does not run when the page loads. It is showing in the page source. I can still call this function through FireBug console by manually typing the name of the function.
I did the same way with other user controls, and it works. Just 1-3 user controls are not working...
I have an external JavaScript in an asp.net 3.5 project. While writing different functions, sometimes the JavaScript is loaded into FF and sometimes it is not (based on FireBug) and the JavaScript does not run. Even if there is an error in the JS it should still load or be visible to the browser, right?
What is the logic behind when it is loaded and when it doesn't load (or is accessible to the browser?)
Master Page loads JS from a script directory in project:
I searched all day a solution to my problem.I worked with MVC 2 with visual studio 2010.I want to bind dropdownlists according to the value selected in an other dropdownlidt (but the datas are not linked in the database). In fact, I have a function in a controller and I tried to call it thanks javascript. But during the debug, it never goes in this function. If I'm not clear, ask me some question.
I should also tell you that I have another string, dividor4, identical but for the name of the function that does not have css styling, and that one works as it should.
All of my scripts run fine in my Master page, and all of the functions run when called in the content pages, but for some reason, all of the sudden contentPageLoad() doesn't run anymore in any of them. I am sure that I have changed something somewhere, but I can't figure out what it is.
The thing is that, the first if statement works fine and the 'javascript' shows an alert and close the window, but in the second if statement the javascript shows the message but doesn't close the window.
I have a new web application. I've setup the application and it's working on one server(xxx) but it's not working on another(yyy). I changed the web.config file(checked throughly and I've changed the connection string and appsettings).
What could be the error?
The login page is working but when I proceed a Javascript error occurs...
(Line: 48 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method)
I have an UpdatePanel on the page which I'd like to trigger using javascript.First of all my code perfectly works if it's in a website not being inheriting from a masterpage. Now when you put exactly the same code into a website which inherits from a masterpage, the UpdatePanel wouldn't get fired anymore.
After upgrading our project to the .net 4.0 framework (from 3.5), we facing some problems with ajax calls with html in the parameters. As soon as the user enters some html in a text area the ajax call isn't executed anymore. If the user enters plain text only, there is no problem.
On load I'm both calling a JavaScript setTimeout() function that will hide a .NET Panel control, and hiding it in the code behind on first load. Clicking the save button will set the Panel to visible then reload the page at which point a setTimeout() function is called... so basically you click save, and see a panel with "Details Saved" for three seconds, at which point it disappears.
The problem is the external JavaScript file can't find _pDivAlert.ClientID (I've debugged and it returns null). It only works when the code is in a tag in the .aspx page. how I can either pass the client ID to the HideControl() function or find the ClientID from the external JS file?
The problem is when I send AJAX (XmlHttpRequest) request from other page to this page, that response does not get cached on any browser but IE. (On IE, it gets cached even if I don't specify). How do I make it cache?
I need to include an offsite javascript file on my page, however I don't want it to be able to affect the performance of my site, in case the server where the javascript is on is down or not responding.
What I'd like to know, is if it's posible with javascript to make some sort of wrapper function to ensure that the page where the offsite javascript is hosted is responding within an acceptable timeframe.
I've considered adding the "defer" attribute to where I include the javascript, but that would as far as I know still leave the site hanging after the rest of the page is loaded.
If it's not possible to do in javascript are there any good alternatives?
I'm making a website in ASP.NET 4.0 where I make use of the RequiredFieldValidator control to validate a wizardstep. It works perfectly with Javascript enabled, but when I turn it off (in my Firefox) it just goes to the next step.We don't do a Page.IsValid check, but we don't do much on the "next button clicked" event either.Certainly not something that is forcing it to go to the next step.
I have a jQuery function in a .js file, and the function requires a querystring parameter to be passed. If I try to use the CompositeScript feature in the ScriptManager, it pukes on the file that has the querystring.
I added some javascript to fill in a dropdown and it works wonderfully. However, when I try to access the value in codebehind to submit the data, the value shows as null. (string strValue = ddlName.SelectedValue;).
