I am trying to attach a server-side event to lookup the city/state for the user-entered zipcode in a field like the one below.

Since there is no lost focus event to capture, has anyone had any luck getting this to work?
form I need to check is the user entered a username (or other data item text) that is not exist in my database right after the user leaves the Textbox and if the value exist in my datavase Invalidate the form.
View 3 RepliesI have a web form where i have a key field "Account #" and ive put some live validations sort of function which validates the input text against values in database and instantly displays result if the account # is valid or invalid and ive put this on "onblur" event of the textbox.
The problem i am facing is that i have a "SAVE" button also and when user inputs account number the onblur fires and validates the input then user presses tab key fill other details and change his mind and go back to account # and type some invalid values and without pressing tab clicks on SAVE button with the mouse ..darn in this case it doesnt fire ONBLUR instead if fires SAVE event...how to overcome this problem and execute onblur first in any case.

OnClientClick event of each button calls displayAlternate() which displays repective div and hides other.

If I return true div second label is not getting displayed..
How can I achieve functionality where all divs expect 2nd is hidden and i get server side event also..

I'm here again to share a problem that I'm fighting against for days. I'm developing an eCommerce Cart.
Within it, I have a repeater, inside of ITEMTEMPLATE I put one TextBox for product quantities and one Button, for update the quantity inserted on that textbox.
When the customer clicks over the Button, it fires a function that gets the content of the TextBox and do an update on my Database.
It works perfetly when it is done with the mouse click. But I need to fires the update function WHITHOUT the manually click event. When the customer just put the mouse out of the TextBox (onblur event), I want to fires that function.

My CompositeControl creates dinamically several RadioButtonLists according to the DataSource information. These controls are added to the Controls list and rendered in CreateChildControls event.
I need to create a LinkButton that clear a specific RadioButtonList selection and do a postback, to load the DataSource information again (some selections changes the data that need to be loaded from the database). For each RadioButtonList, I've put a LinkButton and assigned the Click Event to a method inside the same CompositeControl, to do the RadioButtonList cleaning.
Unfortunatelly, the LinkButton doesn't trigger the Click Event. In HTML code, the link has the "onclick" attribute setted with the asp.net event, but when clicked, nothing happens.
I have created dynamic control with both server and client side events.. if i set client side event server side event is not firing.. I have created the link button which will validate and do some necessary actions.. Validation is working but click event of link button is not firing .. if we remove the client side event , server side event is firing.. how to avoid this.. I want both events..

and found that all of event.fromElement,event.toElement,event.srcElement are null which causes the exception.
I have a series of textboxes on a FormView. There is a textbox for entering a percent for a deposit amount and next to that a corresponding textbox for entering a dollar value for a deposit amount. There are 3 sets of these.
If a user changes a percent textbox, I update the dollar value textbox based on the percent times the project's total cost. If a user changes the dollar value textbox, the percent textbox gets updated as a percent of that dollar amount divided by the project's total cost.
I have the percent textboxes formatted as "{0:0%}" and the dollar value textboxes as "{0:C}".
When a user types into the textbox, the formatting goes away and we get raw numbers but I don't want those raw numbers to remain as such after they tab or click out of the field. I added a TextChanged event to reset the formatting. This works fine on reformatting the percent textbox but the currency one remains as just a raw numeric value.

I have created some dynamic controls, at the runtime from server-side and I want to write the event-handler for those controls. All I did is :

My problem is the event-handler function addobjective() is never being called and not getting fired, So the program is not doing what it is supposed to do at the click event of the server side commandbutton add.

View 9 Repliesi am currently developing an asp.net project. there is a previous, next, and cancel button that the user can utilize, but the problem is that everything is broken into controls so that if they hit the browser's back button it will reset everything and take them to the very beginning. i would like to capture the onbeforeunload event and trigger the previous button click event (i.e. treating navigation like clicking the previous button).
View 6 RepliesI have searched around but unable to find a solution that will work. I have a link button that is created dynamically during the page load. It is given an ID (obviously). There is a script manager on the page. I have the controls added to a panel in the updatepanel (updatePanel1). There is a dynamic label that is also created with each link button. I can get a response from the linkbutton click event during a postback on the second time clicking the linkbutton, but I am getting a complete postback instead of the asyncpostback for that control. During the creation of the dynamic linkbuttons, I am also creating a dynamic trigger for each button and adding it to the updatePanel1. The Click event is not firing the method without doing a complete page postback.

A breakpoint is set on FillForm() and this method is called two times but I can't explain myself why this happens. I have client side javascript code, when the form is being send, the onsubmit method is also called twice... Where do I have to search?! Is it a (known) bug?
