Force Page Break In HTML When Opening And Printing Multiple Records?
Jan 20, 2011
So I have a repeater control that lists a bunch of information for each staff member...one after another. Problem is when I try to print this list I have staff records starting out in the middle of the page. I would like to solve this issue by forcing a page break at the beginning or end of each record/repeater item. How can I accomplish this?
<body>
<form>
<asp:repeater>
<itemtemplate>
<table>
<bunch of html>
</bunch of html>
</table>
</itemtemplate>
</asp:repeater>
</form>
</body>

I'm building an application that creates bar code images based on the number of selected rows in a GridView. It counts out 6 bar codes and the corresponding labels, and then it needs to force a page break when my counter hits "6".
How do you force a page break from your server side (VB page-behind) code in ASP.NET?
Can you change the pagestyle from the code-behind? I wanted to try : "pagestyle = "page-break-before:always" - but it was not an option in the intelisense menu...
I have a list view with details about some products, which is working just fine. However, I now need to set up a pdf generator to generate a stock list. To do this I am using abcpdf.
The only problem I am having is getting the results to fall across the pages nicely, but this can be sorted by inserting the code
[Code]....
which lets me put it every two records. How do I modify this to insert it every three?
I have a dropdownlist that I already have manually databinding. I currently get the data, loop through each item, and depending on values in the item, change the css for the individual ListItem.
For example:
foreach (Site mySite in myList) { ListItem li = new ListItem(mySite.FullAddress, mySite.Id.ToString()); if (mySite.DisabledFlg) { li.Attributes.Add("style", "color:#999"); } this.Items.Add(li); }
I'm trying to force the text in the listitem to break at certain points. The string that I retrieve from the datasource currently has a " " everywhere where there should be a line break. This works fine for display in a normal textbox, but it doesn't work on the listitem. I've tried replacing the " " with a "<br>" but when I do that, it just displays <br> in the listem along with the rest of the text. I've tried wrapping the listitem contents in a "div" with a width attribute, but it also just display the "div" tag literally in the ListItem text. I've also tried adding the following to the ListItem attributes at bind:
li.Attributes.Add("width", "100px");
But that hasn't resulted in any change either.
I've seen custom drop down list controls that have multiline listitems in them.
i have problem in word to html converting when uploaded document not redirect the html page..i have the folloeing problem process being used another person.the code below,

One of my apps is to document aircraft inspection at mil sites. The discrepancy report for any one tail number can be many pages long. The description of the discrepancy in a gridview cell can be several lines. Therefore when the gridview hits the bottom of the physical page, the print spooler frequently splits the gridview row leaving part on one page and the rest at the top of the following page. I have done my due-diligence in research before posting but maybe I'm using the wrong words. I found something on CodeProject but it is too complicated for me. Does anyone have a simple solution? I use C# and am not very sharp with Java script.

I've been developing a database system that stores test results from two different machines. (It's a foundry, each machine tests for the amounts of a collection of elements in a piece of metal. One machine does the tests on iron, the second on aluminium. Both produce the same list, but each machine will have much more of some elements than others.)
I used folder security to limit who has access to what folders, so there is a general page for anyone to view results from any machine in the root, one folder has a page to allow people in a particular group to edit/correct the iron results, and a second folder has a page to allow another group of people to edit/correct the aluminium results. Now, we've picked up a third machine which tests aluminium samples too, and it belongs to a third group of people. What is the best or recommended method to allow this third group to edit samples from the third machine only?
1) Should I have a third folder, and copy in the page from the other aluminium folder, and tweak it so it only shows and allows edits to results from this new machine? This seems like the quickest, easiest method, but a waste of effort as it's mostly duplication of existing work.
2) The other option I see is to keep one aluminium editing page, but to limit the results that are shown to the ones that the current user should be allowed to see. (One page which shows one group of people one half of the results, and shows a second group of people the other half of the results). Is there a way to achieve this that is almost as easy as using folder-based permissions?
I am trying to create a menu with the following code. But I cannot figure out how to get each LinkButton to appear on seperate lines.
MenuPanel.Controls.Clear(); foreach (FormList f in forms) { if (f.IsActive == "y") { FormUserControl fc = (FormUserControl)LoadControl(f.StartControl); LinkButton lb = new LinkButton(); lb.Text = fc.Title; MenuPanel.Controls.Add(lb); // I want some sort of line break here } }
I am creating an HTML document using HTML agility pack. I load a template file then append content to it. All of this works, but when I view the output file it has removed the closing tag from my <br/> tags to look like this <br>. What is causing this?
Dim doc As New HtmlDocument() doc.Load(Server.MapPath("Template.htm")) Dim title As HtmlNode = doc.DocumentNode.SelectSingleNode("//title") title.InnerHtml = title.InnerHtml & "CEU Classes" Dim topContent As HtmlAgilityPack.HtmlNode = doc.GetElementbyId("topContent") topContent.InnerHtml = html.ToString doc.OptionWriteEmptyNodes = True doc.Save(outputFileName, Encoding.UTF8)
More info:
It was removing my closing image tags, after I added doc.OptionWriteEmptyNodes = True, it quite doing that.
In our web application we have multiple web pages. Contacts module is One of the widely used module. The entire module consists of 3 pages.
The First page displays the Contact details with several Server controls, the second page is contact history with all the history about the contact and 3rd page again some more details of the contact.
Is there any way when a user hits one button on any of these pages, it prints all the 3 pages. With the content for this contact. note these are not static pages. The contact details are displayed based on the data in our Oracle DB.

I am creating an HTML document which we are then pushing out to MS Word using a "application/msword" content type. This works so far except that the files open in Word with Web View. Once Normal View is selected all works fine. Is there any way to force Word to open with Normal View instead of Web View?
I have an inventory page with a gridview that shows 1 item per record, each item starts with a checkbox in the gridview. Currently users can select multiple records and hit the order button and everything has worked well. Now I have multiple pages in my gridview, and if a user selects a few records from the first page, and then goes to the second page, all the records (checked checkboxes) disappear from the first page.
