Forms Data Controls :: 1-8 Lines Of Repeating Input Controls - How Should To Do It?

Based on dynamic data, I'm going to have to display 1-8 rows of data input controls (a check box and several text boxes per row) and obtain input for all the rows I display.I don't think a GridView is the way to do that (although if it is, please help educate me on why). Each row will require input from the user which I'll then process, and I'd like to have all the rows (there may be only one, or there could be up to 8) display at once on the screen and the user only presses "Continue" when all input is completeWhat's the best way to accomplish this? Can you point me to an example of how I might accomplish this?

I have a listview control on the page.. when the page binds and the listview is presented, there should be only 6 records.. well those 6 are displayed corrected at the top, but then below that is the same 6 records.. and below that is the same 6 records.. this goes on 6 times for the page.
If only 1 record is returned by the query. the page lays out ok and functions as expected.. is there a configuration i need to make to the listview to prevent it from repeating itself the number of records it returns?

I am new to using ASP.NET and I am using a datalist to represent the data obtained from querying a database.However,I am facing 2 issues:
1) If the string returned after querying the database is too long,the datalist is displaying the long string as it is which is not looking good.I am using Eval to fetch the data from the database for the sake of displaying.I need to have some page breaks so that the information fetched is presentable.
2) While repeating the datalist I want to hide all the columns except for 1 column whose value are unique.Upon searching I found this link: http://www.programmingknowledge.com/DataList.aspx but the code is in VB and I am not familiar with it.I am familiar with C#.
I am inserting the front end code for my datalist.I also want to know if datalist is the best control to present the data from the database.

I have a forum like page ( vBulletin like page). There are mainly two columns involved. User and Decription. The page looks like this

In it , userpic, username, subject and descriptions are to be repeated every time. I used listview for this.. But the column 'download link' is to be used at once only in the first post ( of thread author). So, how can I achieve this. I am using asp.net 3.5 and sql server 2005.

I m using a dropdownlist from sqldatasource based on input from listbox like this-

It works very much fine when i select listitem from listbox first time. But when i select listitem from listbox second time, my dropdownlist shows items for second input as well as first input.dropdown should not show items based on first input when i populate it second time.

In my asp.net page, i am displaying database fields in gridview with nearly 30 columns, but when i am displaying those fields, then i need to scoll to view them. But I want to display gridview rows without using botttom scroll bars.

I have a question about dynamically generated checkboxes in a grid view. These checkboxes are checked depending on a value from the database. This is al working fine. I want to check or uncheck some checkboxes on different lines and when i push a button i want to receive the values of the checkboxes, but i can accomplish this.

Before I get too involved in this new page, I want to besure I am going to go about it the correct way.
What is needed is a grid of some sort. The query returns groups of records, every two records are related and I need to insert a summary line after each pair of records.
Company 1 current
Company 1 previous
*insert a summary of the currency amounts displayed with the two records.

*insert a summary of the currency amounts displayed with the two records.

What data control should I use to do this (a girdview, datagrid, listview??, something else?) I am running VS. 2008.

I have some data im reading from an SQL Database onto a web page.
on the website end im converting each new line into a list item.
but in the database theres lots of blank lines between list items, so its showing each blank line as a list item.
so i just wondered if theres any way to remove those blank lines on the website end.

I am bulding a dvd catalog and have a table called DVD which holds all my details about each dvd except Genre, Director and Actor as I want more than 1 Genre, Director, Actor per DVD so put these in seperate tables to avoid repeating the data and used a joining tabe to join the tables so the tables I have are
DVD, Genre, Director, Actor, DVDGenre, DVDDirector and DVDActor

I have two java drop down menus that display Server linkbuttons. Both drop down menus display the SAME text and call the same part for me to load. The reason is because I am doing a comparison between both types of data and thats why I use two drop down menu. My problem is there is a lot of "re-typing" if I want to ever add a new part. That would mean I would need to update both menus with the same text.
This is what I mean:

SO as you can see, they are essentially displaying the same thing, but the server DIFFERENTIATES by knowing that they have different ID's based on a sequential number. The server knows which menu is calling that link and will load the proper data into that particular bank.
My Problem is once I add a third or fourth menu, there's so much repetitive typing to add the same HTML linkbuttons. The only difference would be just the ID. SO does anyone know how I can create all these server controls dynamically or something and only have to update ONE menu on the HTML page, but some how incorporate four instantiations of it so that each copy has a different ID?
ID=CNN1, ID=CNN2, ID=CNN3, ID=CNN4, etc.etc.

Using code found here : [URL] .... I was wondering if the text could be formatted as in maintaining line feeds. I'm reading from an SQL 2008 database which has a text field. When I call it up the text format is gone. as an example I get :
what colour is the sun A:Green B:Red c:Yellow
instead of :

One of my apps is to document aircraft inspection at mil sites. The discrepancy report for any one tail number can be many pages long. The description of the discrepancy in a gridview cell can be several lines. Therefore when the gridview hits the bottom of the physical page, the print spooler frequently splits the gridview row leaving part on one page and the rest at the top of the following page. I have done my due-diligence in research before posting but maybe I'm using the wrong words. I found something on CodeProject but it is too complicated for me. Does anyone have a simple solution? I use C# and am not very sharp with Java script.

I'm trying to design a page that displays all suppliers by their location. I'd quite like this to work from a query that will automatically include new locations added in the future.
At the moment my design has a table that holds 'locations' with locationID and locationName fields. In my 'suppliers' table I also have a locationID to join them.
I'm not sure how to query the database to return all the suppliers in location 1, then all in location 2. (Or even sure of the terms I need to Google to get some examples!) For example:

Supplier 1
Supplier 2
Location 2
Supplier 3
Supplier 4
