I have some data im reading from an SQL Database onto a web page.
on the website end im converting each new line into a list item.
but in the database theres lots of blank lines between list items, so its showing each blank line as a list item.
so i just wondered if theres any way to remove those blank lines on the website end.
I a using an HTML Editor control on a page within a Update Panel, when te user selects from a DropDownList the page gets the requested Text from an SQL DB and updates the HTML Editor. This all works fine and if the user edits the text it is also saved back to the DB perfectly fine.
However if the user tries to put a blank line in to the TEXT (Line theline above this one!) even switching from Design to Preview this line is removed and if the Text is saved back to the DB the line is removed. I have tried adding lots of lines but they are always removed as if the control is thinking well we don't need this white space so lets get rid of it.
I have a requirement that i need to remove the columns from gridview which are blank but at remove funtion it gives me error so i make that columns visible false now its working fine but at the time of exporting data from gridview to excel it also export that visible= false columns in spredsheet and i don't want that blank or hidden column in my excel sheet

I'm having troubles in removing multiple empty lines.
I'm trying to remove with editor1.Replace("
","") and also with Replace("<br>","") but nothing seems to work.
With 'removing multiple empty lines' i mean removing empty lines like for instance:
Input:
Line 1 text
line 2 text
Line 3
The line that should be removed is the one between line 2 and line 3, so this should become:
Line 1 text
line 2 text
Line 3
No emtpy line between line 2 and 3
My datasource returns up to 3 different values for each item: a contact name, a company name, and an email address
The problem is, this ends up returning the same company names multiple times in the returned list of suggestions
Is there a way to weed these duplicate items out using JQuery or is there another method I should use?

I have a question about dynamically generated checkboxes in a grid view. These checkboxes are checked depending on a value from the database. This is al working fine. I want to check or uncheck some checkboxes on different lines and when i push a button i want to receive the values of the checkboxes, but i can accomplish this.

Based on dynamic data, I'm going to have to display 1-8 rows of data input controls (a check box and several text boxes per row) and obtain input for all the rows I display.I don't think a GridView is the way to do that (although if it is, please help educate me on why). Each row will require input from the user which I'll then process, and I'd like to have all the rows (there may be only one, or there could be up to 8) display at once on the screen and the user only presses "Continue" when all input is completeWhat's the best way to accomplish this? View 3 RepliesI have a Gridview which is populated with data based on the selection of dropdowns in a web form. Once the gridview is displayed on the page the user has a "Print" button that will print the gridview. I need to allow the user to remove rows from the gridview prior to printing. I do not want to remove the data from the database, only from the displayed gridview.
I've added a column to the Gridview that has a checkbox which appears next to each row. The header of this column reads "Exlude". If the user checks a box next to a row then this row should be excluded from the printed gridview.Totally new to gridview .. don't know where to go from here.

So at the bottom I blank the model (Leaving just the required field) and then return to the view. However the view holds the data from the previously submitted form. I have debugged the code and checked that the RetModel variable is empty.

In my Gridview, I have set Gridlines to None and the gridlines in the body of the gridview are gone. However, the gridlines in the Header and Footer remain. How do you get rid of the gridlines in the header and footer?
Is there a way to do this with a stylesheet?
