Forms Data Controls :: Adding A Link Column To GridView With User's ID?
Aug 18, 2010
I have an accessdatasource that pulls several columns from my users table including [userID]. Then I have a gridview that displays all this information by autofilling the columns. Finally I have added a column that I want to link to viewUser.aspx?userID=####. The #### would of course be from the query.
This is my first time using this so I'm not sure what's wrong. I don't understand the '{0}' part and that's also where the problem lies. On the viewUser page when I print the querystring("userID") it just shows {0} as expected. How do I get my userID in there?
I've extended gridview, and added it a linkbutton, when i have'nt select a datasoruce for gridview the linkbutton causes postback and onclick fires, however when i select a datasource for grdiview the linkbutton does'nt cause postback. I've also test onclientclick property and href attribute and assigned them page.getpostbackevent, and they did'nt work here is my code:
I need to add a sum total for each column in my gridview and I need to do this programmatically because my gridview mark up does not contain any column mark because the columns themselves are added programmatically.
This there away to do this on the row data bound event? If so how do you do it? I have 10 columns which each need to have a total.
Into below code which is working fine, but the last section which started from using (SqlCommand SendMailcmd ... update it as i want when the user click on the button the code take the AdsID and (QAdsEmail "the user email") and send an e-mail to user depending on QAdsEmail and inside the email create a link to URL... so the user when he receive the mail he can click on it and move to the page to edit his Ad info ...
The table where below info will store in is called "ads" and the column that's need for sending email with ad info/the E-mail part of the code below i just copy it from another part of my application ...
am binding a gridview to datatable ...and now i want to add a linkbutton/hyperlink as one of the columns in gridview (similar to checkbox field) ...am adding the Lbtn inside a template field ,but i want that column to come as last column ..but its coming as first column,,,how to acheive that??
moreover ,whn i clk on eack linkbutton a pop-up window has to come with submit and save and close buttons and functionality(is it better to use linkbutton or hyperlink??)...am using vs 2005
I'm currently working on a small project and therefore created a gridview, including one bit column which has been linked with a checkbox in both the itemtemplate as the edititemtemplate (autopostback = true).Databinding for these two checkboxes has been linked (two-way) to the bit column. Now I want to display the gridview to end-users. They should be able to just click on the checkbox so they value in the database column gets changed as well (as I want to run update queries behind it), but not passing via the command column 'EDIT'.=> problem I'm having now is that the bit column in the database doesn't get updated.
I need a Gridview where by a user will click a link in a row and it will react like another row below expanding. This expanded row will containa number of other controls including a gridview. I have seen this in action on the MSDN subscription website. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction as I do not where to begin.here is a link to something similar to the MSDN version [URL]
I'm using a windwos authentication via intranet. I'm able to display the username in a label control on a page load event (which is very simple).
I'm not storing this data anywhere in the table (MS SQL). I have all my data in a table and I'm using a gridview to diplay them. I'm using a button control to update all the rows in the gridview. I wanted to update three columns in the gridview (1. Tickbox, 2.Datetime Stamp and 3.UserId).
I've created a query in the dataset, through which i can update the Tickbox and DateTime stamp using now() function. But I'm not sure how to update the UserID field with the UserName (which inturn updates all the three fields in the gridview when the button is pressed.
regarding gridview Template column.in my template column i have a textbox and i need to invisible to user. but when i set visible property "false" then textbox value is not render.
I list selections of available items in a gridview and have added a button column for adding items to a cart. Is there a way to add a column where the user can enter the quantity to add?
I'm customizing a NopCommerce store, and am using a gridview to display and sort the products. All that works well. I like how the external pager (user control) works with the gridview, with one exception -- it uses the hyperlink control, so I lost viewstate, which I need to retain for both the search page and to retain the gridview sort options. Based on the page selected (from the pager control), I query the database and rebind the gridview. So, I switched the user control to use LinkButtons instead of Hyperlinks. This is the sample code for one of the buttons:
[Code]....
I set a breakpoint inside the lbCommandClick method, but it never gets hit. Reading other posts tells me that I would have to add the dynamic controls in the OnLoad method, but since this all happens based on other data on the page (say search results), I don't think I can do it onLoad. However, the link buttons do work to cause a postback, and my viewstate is saved correctly. The only problem is that I do not know which button was clicked. I could check Request.Params["__EVENTTARGET"] onLoad, but that is kind of a hack -- I'd much rather be able to set the event handler in the user control and use the CommandArgument property. But, what I have tried so far fails.
Especially one that would allow me to set the EventHandler in the User Control? (e.g. OnlbCommand="PagerLBPageChange" )
I'm a bit new to this game. I'm trying to build a web page that simply scans a directory in the server and creates a web page with links to the files in that directory - sounds simple and should be easy to do !So I have a bit of code that reads the myDocuments folder in my web site and then populates a grid view hyperlink column with the filenames in the folder - wow it works !The only thing I am struggling with now is getting the hyperlink correct within the GridView so that the user goes to the actual document.So my code behind is;
[Code]....
which reads the file info in the directory myDocuments and binds the info to a datasource. So now I'm using that datasource to display the filenames in a gridview so that the user can click on a name and open the file.
[Code]....
But of course the Name field in the hyperlink column is only the name of the file - how do I append the relative link to the filename to make the full path to the file correct.I tried to make the Hyperlink column a template field and do something like EVAL("~/path/"&"Name") but that doesn't work :(
I have a database table column consisting of text URLs [URL] In my LINQ-to-SQL-driven gridview, I want to make this a clickable link programmatically, with differing link text (e.g. "Link text"). I'm getting close but am missing some key concept. Here's the core of the .vb codebehind:
Dim dctx As New ResourceMod.ResourceModDALDataContext Dim eleResObj = From eleRes In dctx.Resources Where eleRes.Type = "url" Select siteurl = eleRes.Website GridView1.DataSource = eleResObj GridView1.DataBind()
This displays the raw URL in the gridview (i.e. non-clickable). I've experimented with adding an explicit hyperlink column a la [URL](setting AutoGenerateColumns false etc.), but haven't yet figured out how to assign the asp:hyperlink Text and NavigateUrl fields with the anonymous-type object eleResObj. Using a field construct such as Text='<%# Eval("siteurl") %>' isn't working, presumably a scope issue. Is a LinqDataSource needed in this case, and if so, how would that affect the original LINQ query?
I want to display gridview column heading when mouse over to the particular column in the gridview.I am working in VisualStudio 2005 with MS.Net2.0 framework.I don't want to use ajax.
how can i insert a file upload template column and link it to each row because each row has a unique idi have item code column and i am listing the grid upon the item code columnso for every item code row i need to use file upload to upload it s excel sheet
I have a grid view with a few columns, for example a column in the grid view contains description of a product. The description might be very long, so i want to display only first 100 characters of the description and then provide a . when we click on the. then the whole description should be displayed.
I have created a asp.net webpage for viewing daily downloaded newspaper, saved as a pdf file in a selected folder (~/NEWS/{0}) within the web root directory. Also i have a SQL datasource linked, where the news table has two columns viz: date and filename.
I want to create a tiled listview where the date text is visible on the hyperlink. on clicking the hyperlink, the file name is retreived for the corresponding date and the pdf file opens in a fresh page.
I have tried going to the item template in listview and replacing the label control with a hyperlink control, but then not able to successfully proceed ahead.
I would like to make the datagrid bound column to redirecting to the details page .
For example , when my mouse over certain row of bound column in datagrid , it will change the colour to blue . Also , I can click anywhere of the row and the will redirect to the detail page .
Notes : I do not want to use hyperlink column and do not want to fix the text for every row. I want to use datafield, CommandName and CommandArguement.
I am buidling a support call system that allows people to submit support tickets and then an engineer can respond to them.Support tickets are submitted from a formview to a database. Then the engineer looks at them from his own page which shows that particular call in a formview, he adds his comments and hits update. What I want to do is be able to add more than one set of comments should the engineer have to make more than one entry and for that I would like the control to add a column to my database table. Is there an easy way for this to be done?
