GridView Client Side Confirmation CommandField, ObjectDataSource?
Is there any way to add a confirmation dialog to a submit button when the form already has other validation controls and a summary control using "showmessagebox=true"? I tried adding
OnClientClick="return confirm('Are you sure?');" to the submit button, but that seems to block all of the other validation?
Does anyone know how to program a Confirmation box to pop up when deleting a row in a ListView Control in ASP 3.5 in VB? I have the delete buttons in both the ItemTemplate and AlternatingItemTemplate.
View 5 RepliesI have a datalist on my page that allows a user to build up with orders. Each time an order is added I post back to the server, updated a dataset and then bind the dataset to the datalist.
I would rather do this on the client, for performance reasons.
Does anyone know of a way I can add a row to a datalist via javascript/jquery?
I understand this may not be possible using a datalist, so any other type of client side list tool.
In my project, In gridview i want to add a client-side confirtmation for deleting a record. Everything seems right, browser asks for confirmation, after pressing "yes", nothing happens in gridview as well at database. What's the missing point ? The validation is if there is a value present in the first text box then the second text box is required.The page throws an error when the validation should fail, but if I ignore the error the validation works correctly.Do I need to move my javascript to the code behind as well?

I have a page where a user can add any number of a specific custom control by clicking a button and delete any of them by checking a "delete" box and clicking the delete button. This custom control has a dropdown, 3 radiobuttons, 2 text boxes and 2 checkboxes. The anomaly occurs when you add at least 2 controls, then delete any of them but the last one.
When each control is rendered the name and id attributes are autoincremented to make them unique however, in the above casewhen the custom control is actually renedered to the page the name attribute has an index that is 1 higher than the id. For example:

Now I am sure that I am doing somethign wrong but I just do not know what. Since the controls are added dynamically I have to recreate them on each postback so that the postback data can repop the fields. However, when the user deletes then the postback event makes me recreate all of them, then I have to remove the controls the user requested to be deleted. At this point the auto generated index is incorrect so the nextpostback will lose the data so I have to manually renumber the control IDs. Now this seems to work on all other controls within my custom control except for the radio buttons.
I have a dropdown list, and can select names to delete from db table user.
Just want to add a confirmation dialogue window before deleting the record.
I am using a simple function at js to confirm. Isn't that enough to go to btnDelete_click() if true? I am using LINQ to SQL.

I am using VS2010, .Net 4. I am trying to add a ScriptManager to my page, so I can reference an AJAX Enabled WCF Service. When I add the ScriptManager control to my page and view it - I get the error shown below. I have no clue how to resolve it. I get the error by simply putting the control on my page (not reference the WCF Service).

Actually, my problem is that I am not able to access the service. I am referencing it inside the ScriptManager and have the javascript code in place, but Firefox is reporting that it cannot find it. Says it is not defined. I do not know how to test this or determine where it is failing.

There are two instances of this control in the page. When running the client side version it hits the wrong one (the version of the control which is disabled). You can see from the generated HTML both are correctly specified. I'm not sure how .NET works out which clientside function to call given they both have the same name.
